Description

DESCRIPTION

Open Knowledge Kit's 10 free and open source tools are being implemented in a
humanitarian and local pandemic recovery program for presentation at several G20
events. Humanitarian early warning and rapid assessment systems at very low
cost, and a food, tourism and creative industries regeneration are providing
trained, local and mostly non-technical women with 2-17 times higher local wages
by removing expensive outside staff, software and equipment. The goal is to
shift knowledge and stewardship to the local community and implement
cross-sector accountability to address gender, equity and climate gaps for an
inclusive pandemic recovery.

The program includes:

 * Training the cross-sector community how to collect, map and analyze data
 * Gender gap MSME mapping
 * 3D reconstruction for rapid assessment data extraction
 * 3D reconstruction for rapid disaster and climate change modeling
 * Revival of heirloom agriculture, food, tourism and creative industries

Hi #author This project has been scheduled for archival in fourteen days because
it is almost two years old (it was created before January 1, 2023). If you
anticipate that active and meaningful mapping will continue on this project,
please contact sam.colchester@hotosm.org to request that this project not be
archived. Archiving will not delete your project, so you and the public will
still be able to access it. You are free to re-publish the project after it is
archived but please ensure that the instructions, imagery, metadata and
permissions are up to date; in many cases it may be better to create a new
project if a project is as old as this one is. Please consider conducting a
third/final pass of the project before it is archived. This is occurring as part
of a Project Gardening process, more info can be found here:

MISSING MAPS: KUAJIENA, SOUTH SUDAN

The South Sudan Red Cross is working on an Enhanced Vulnerability and Capacity
Analysis (EVCA) together with the local communities, to assess and analyse the
risks the communities face, explore where these risks come from, which members
of the communities are most exposed, what coping capacities are available, and
what initiatives can be undertaken to strengthen coping capacities and reduce
the risks. The OpenStreetMap data will be used in the usage context of the
[Sketch Map Tool](https://sketch-map-tool.heigit.org/) to orientate on the map
and to collect spatial knowledge together with the communities.
