 * The song was written by Deacon, for his wife, Veronica Tetzlaff. In addition
   to his bass guitar skills, he plays a Wurlitzer electric piano on this tune.
 * The tune heavily relies on the distinctive “bark” of the Wurlitzer’s bottom
   notes.
 * During live performances, a grand piano was utilized instead of an electric,
   and Freddie Mercury played it, while Deacon played the bass guitar exactly as
   on the original album.
 * The song was featured in various TV series and films, including Hot in
   Cleveland, The Simpsons and Family Guy
 * Bruce Gowers directed the music video, which shows the band in a large
   ballroom surrounded by over 1,000 candles, including a massive chandelier
   suspended from the ceiling.
 * The video was shot in April 1976 at London’s Elstree Studios. Furthermore,
   Deacon appears to be playing a grand piano instead of the Wurlitzer on the
   recording.
 * The band used the “Bohemian Rhapsody” video again because of its success.
 * The song was initially released as a single in 1975, as part of the album A
   Night at the Opera.
 * It peaked at number seven on the UK Singles Chart and number sixteen on the
   Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.’
 * It has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of
   America (RIAA) in the United States, with more than one million copies sold.
 * Decades after the chart hit of “You’re My Best Friend,” Deacon continues to
   live quietly in London with his wife, Veronica, with whom he raised six
   children.
