Before you GoSolr
What does GoSolr offer?

We offer affordable, flexible, solar subscriptions. Which means you always have
access to power. And while we take care of all the nitty gritty – the
monitoring, maintenance and support – you just enjoy the reliable, clean,
uninterrupted power of the sun.

What does it cost to get started?
 * A once-off admin fee:
 * Small: R1399 incl. VAT
 * Medium: R1740 incl. VAT
 * Large: R2900 incl. VAT
 * Large 3phase: R3600 incl. VAT
 * Extra Large: R4400 incl. VAT

What about the monthly fee?
 * Small: R1399 incl. VAT
 * Medium: R1740 incl. VAT
 * Large: R2900 incl. VAT
 * Large 3phase: R3600 incl. VAT
 * Extra Large: R4400 incl. VAT




This fee escalates annually in line with the consumer price index.

Is it right for my roof?

We cover many roof types, but not all.

We don’t install on asbestos and thatched roofs.

For flat roofs, there will be an added cost for installing frames & ballast.

Can I upgrade my GoSolr system?

You can. Prior to installation you can add:

 * 1 x extra battery: R690 per month
 * 2 x extra solar panels: R230 per month




Post installation you can add:

 * 1 x extra battery: R690 per month

Do you do a site visit before installation?

Yes. Simply request a pre-site visit prior to installation. One of our expert
installers will come and see you and give you input on the best place for
equipment placement. Feel free to ask questions – they’re happy to answer all
your queries.

What if I'm renting?

While we need the homeowner's signature on our contract, as a tenant, you can
conveniently pay the monthly subscription through a debit order.

The GoSolr solution
What do you include in the solution?

A lot - applications to the municipality, supply of necessary hardware (solar
panels, inverter and battery) and the installation.

What components are used?

We’re all about providing you with the best. So, we only use tier one components
from reliable manufacturers. These are high quality with good guarantee schemes
and produced with a focus on sustainability.

How long will my system last?
 * A long time! Solar panels have a lifetime of up to 25 years. 
 * Batteries and inverters are guaranteed up to 10 years. 
 * As part of your GoSolr contract, we continually monitor your system and
   replace components at the end of their lifetime. 

How long does my contract last?

Luckily, it’s an evergreen contract and lasts until you choose to cancel.

Can I buy the installation?

You can! After three years, you can purchase the installation at the price
detailed in your contract and take proud ownership of the installation as is.

Can I sell excess electricity back to the grid?

Not right now. We’ll enable this once the small-scale embedded generation (SSEG)
requirements and feed-in regulations are standardised across municipalities. All
GoSolr systems are designed to feed excess electricity back to the grid.

Am I covered during load shedding?

It depends on your consumption and how many batteries you have. If you’re
mindful of your consumption, you’ll have enough power to cover a normal 2.5-hour
load-shedding cycle.




As a rule, you can use all your essential appliances during load shedding –
including lights, plugs, TV/internet, fridge, and alarm system.

Will I be off grid?

GoSolr makes a major dent in how much electricity you purchase from the grid,
but it never removes you from the grid. And that’s a good thing.

Will I save money?

Our solution will definitely reduce your costs. Some months, the savings may be
less, but they’ll be larger in others. How much you save really depends on your
consumption, and how much your installation produces. Either way, as a solar
user, the future is bright for you.




Your installation gives you electricity for decades. Electricity prices will
increase, due to inflation and because Eskom needs to compensate for loss of
income due to reduced demand and their high debt. But over time, the math is
sure to improve.




GoSolr not only helps your budget, it helps the environment too. You also avoid
the initial cost of capital, and you save for years.

Should I wait before taking a contract?

While the cost of the technology will hopefully continue to decrease, the price
of the installers will increase, so it’s not necessarily beneficial to wait.
Also, if you wait, you’ll miss out on the savings from using our solution and
have to cope with any load shedding.

Is it all legal?

Absolutely. Our highly qualified team follows strict regulations. They issue you
with a Certificate of Compliance for the installation and smoothly handle all
applications to the local authorities.

Installation
When can I expect my installation?

It’s a seamless process. Once you place your order and complete the requirements
(sign contract, pass credit check, upload required documents and pay the
once-off admin fee), we reach out to schedule your GoSolr installation date.

Do I need to prepare for installation?

Just be at home or available on your phone on the installation date. Also, if
you are in an estate, it’s a good idea to check the application process before
the installation is scheduled.

What happens on installation day?
 1. The installation is scheduled for a date confirmed by you.
 2. The solar panels are mounted on your roof by our team of installers. The
    inverter and battery are mounted in your garage, storeroom, or suitable
    alternative area.
 3. The electrician connects the system to your DB board and puts the system
    into operation.
 4. This takes 1-3 days, depending on your roof size and site complexity.
 5. And then you’re all set to benefit from the sunshine.

What if it’s windy where I live?

No problem. Our qualified installers choose the right components for the weather
conditions in your area.

How does maintenance work?
 * We carefully monitor your installation. If something does go wrong, we
   receive an alert and send a team to sort it out, at no charge to you!
 * We also track the performance of your installation against that of other
   users. If your installation appears to be under-performing, we identify the
   issue and fix it.
 * Because panels get dirty, once a year we send a team to clean them up and do
   a general check of your installation at the same time.

What happens if I sell the house?

No problem. The new owner can take over your contract, purchase the installation
according to the price detailed in the contract, or you can cancel the contract
(at a fee) prior to the sale and we’ll remove the installation.

What if I’m not satisfied with the service?

Hopefully this will never happen! If it does, you can opt out for a fee detailed
in your contract. We’ll come and remove the installation from your property.

What happens if I decide to cancel?

You can opt out at any time for a fixed fee, and we will remove the installation
from your property.
