* Home Select Page THE AUTISM DEBATE We’ve been told that there is no known cause and there is no cure. Is that true? Here are both sides of the argument. You decide. CAUSE: "UNKNOWN" NO CURE NO NEED FOR TREATMENT KATIE JOY is a leading online advocate for the proposition that autistic children should not receive treatment and cures should not even be sought – in the interest of promoting neurodiversity. With others, she routinely organizes attacks on researchers, physicians, health care practitioners and families who seek treatment for their autistic children. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WENDY CHUNG, MD has a simple solution for the dozens of diseases she lists as her areas of expertise: genetics research (at massive expense), early intervention, and drugs. Meanwhile, she wants to make sure the public understands two things: 1) Vaccines do not contribute to autism and there is no cure, just treatment and 2) treatment will involve drugs for life. TED chose to feature this talk at its 2014 main annual event and it’s received over 3 million views. In addition to her expertise in autism, here’s a list of the diseases she claims to be able to treat with genetic counseling: Birth Defects, Breast Cancer, Cancer Genetics, Cardiomyopathy, Cleft Palate With Cleft Lip, Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, Congenital Heart Disease, Diabetes, Genetic Counseling, Inborn Metabolism Disorder, Inherited Arrhythmias, Neurogenetics, Obesity, Pancreas Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Pediatric Seizures, Pulmonary Hypertension, Rare Cancer Syndromes, Arrhythmia, Seizures, Spinal Muscular Atrophy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FIONA O’LEARY portrays herself – and is portrayed by some media outlets – as an authoritative source of information about autism (and other health issues) and an advocate for autistic rights. She is also an outspoken advocate for mandatory vaccination and regularly launches prolonged personal attacks against physicians and scientists who: 1) question the safety of current vaccination practices, 2) consider vaccination a contributing factor in autism, and 3) are seeking treatment protocols for autism. She vigorously promotes the belief that autism should not be treated and is merely an expression of “neurodiversity” and a condition to be celebrated. Subjects of her attacks, including organized petition campaigns, have included: REGRET, an advocacy group in Ireland for girls and young women injured by Merck’s Gardasil vaccine; advocates for the legalization of CBD oil; Caudwell Children’s Charity; the Autism Trust UK Charity; Irish Autism Action; and the National Autistic Society of the UK. She accuses them all of “injuring autistic children.” The following video was filmed by one of the members of small group organized Fiona O’Leary to protest the screening of the film “Vaxxed.” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PERSPECTIVE Though they come from different backgrounds, Wendy Chung, MD, Fiona O’Leary, Katie Joy, and people like them are outspoken about their shared belief that “vaccine injuries are a fantasy.” Currently, there is no definitive documentary about the systematic abuse heaped on families with autistic children. Who engages in this program of abuse? Physicians, government officials, media figures – and their “strange allies,” a veritable army of Internet crackpots who stand ready at a moment’s notice to harass families with autistic children and the heath care practitioners who treat them with anything other than psychoactive drugs marketed by the pharmaceutical industry. There is a very high correlation of media-promoted “experts” who deny that vaccine injuries are one causative factor in autism and that autism can be treated who are also pro-GMO, pro-mandatory vaccines, and pro-Monsanto/Bayer products like Roundup. “Experts” who promote this line of thought are also very often dismissive of the value or organic food and are very likely to engage in online harassment campaigns against any treatment protocol that the pharmaceutical industry cannot profit from. Surprisingly, almost none of these media figures and the “experts” they source have any training in medical or biological science or clinical work with autistic children. Some examples of the more toxic individuals engaged in these campaigns are listed here. – AustimDebate.com PREVENTABLE TREATABLE CURABLE
