WELCOME TO THE MAFCA WEB SITE

The Model A Ford Club of America, Inc. (MAFCA) is dedicated to the restoration,
preservation and enjoyment of the Ford Model A and AA cars and trucks, as
manufactured from 1928 through 1931. We are an active, family-friendly
organization whose members share a passion for these historic vehicles, plus
other aspects of life in that era, such as fashions.

MAFCA is a not-for-profit corporation with members and local affiliated chapters
all over the globe. This makes us the largest car club in the world dedicated to
one make of automobile. We hope you enjoy looking through our site, and we
invite you to join us!

CONVENTION UPDATE

August 5 - Just a quick update for MAFCA 2024 National Convention registrants.

A letter was mailed to each registrant of the 2024 National Convention on Monday
July 1, 2024. This letter includes the total funds paid by each registrant for
the convention and gives information on how to request a refund, along with
other options.

Please look for this letter in your mail. Refunds began being processed by The
Southwest Model A’s on August 1, 2024.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this process.

LATE 1931 FUEL SHUTOFF SURVEY

July 29 - One of our members "discovered" that not all late 1931 Fuel Shutoffs
work the same way. Your webmaster could not find anything in the Model A
Instruction Book that explains how the valve operates.

The member found that some of those shutoffs have the open/close lever pointing
at the front of the car when the gas is on and with the lever pointing to the
right side, the gas flow is off.

But he found most late 31 valves that work the exact opposite – on those, when
the lever points to the right, the gas is on and when the lever faces forward,
the gas is off.

We're curious if anyone else has a shut off valve that points to the right when
the gas flow is off, so if you have one, please contact The Webmaster.

We'll publish the results once we have a good sample of responses.

A-WORLD MAGAZINE

July 1 - Second Quarter 2024 edition of A-World Magazine for our youth can now
be found on the A-World page.

A World magazine for school age children is the creation of two MAFCA members
and former school teachers, Archie Cress and Frank Rosin, from Washington State.
They published A-World from its inception until 2010, when Sherry Winkinhofer
was named the new editor.

This newsletter is now published 4 times a year and is written for school age
children from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Until the end of 2015, it was
mailed to subscribers. In 2016, to reduce the cost of publication, the current
issue will always be available on the website.

ERA FASHION ARTICLE OF THE MONTH

July 1 - Every other month, a member of the Era Fashion Committee writes an
article especially for the website. This month's article can be found on the Era
Fashion Articles page.

MAFCA NATIONAL EVENTS

May 31 - MAFCA is seeking a chapter or group of chapters to host a national
event such as a National Awards Banquet, National Tour or National Convention.
The common belief that this undertaking is difficult is offset if a few chapters
join together to put on the event.

Guidelines for hosting are available on this website in the MAFCA policies area
under the member’s only section. And it doesn’t even have to be in your
backyard. For example: The 2025 National Tour, hosted by the Dallas Texas
Chapter, will be a super event where we’ll have the opportunity to visit Civil
War battlefields starting in Waynesboro, Virginia. And the last time I checked,
Texas is a long way from Gettysburg or Antietam! Click Here to Read More
