PATRICK STEWART FAN SITE

Sir Patrick Stewart (OBE) is an English actor, voice actor, director and
producer with a careed that encompasses both movies, TV-series and the stage.

He has been with the Royal Shakespeare Company in England since fairly early in
his career, making his first RSC appearance in the 1966 RSC staging of The
Investigation, a play based on the Stanislaw Lem novel. In 1979 Stewart received
the Laurence Oliver Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his role in a
West End production of “Antony and Cleopatra”. Throughout the years, Stewart has
appeared in more than 60 productions with the Company.

Internationally, Stewart is chiefly famous for his work in the United States
from the 1980s and onward, especially for playing Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the
Star Trek TV-series and movie franchise, and for portraying Professor Charles
Xavier in the X-men series of superhero films.

Stewart and Hugh Jackman share the Guiness World Record for the longest career
as a live-action Marvel superhero. Stewart for his potrayal of Professor Xavier
and Jackman for his role as (Logan) Wolverine.

HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

Patrick Stewart received a Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame on 16 December, 1996.
It is located at 7021 Hollywood Blvd.

OBE

Patrick Stewart was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British
Empire (OBE) in the 2001 New Year Honours for services to acting and the cinema.

KNIGHT BACHELOR

Patrick Stewart was appointed a Knight Bachelor in the 2010 New Year Honours for
services to drama.

His knighthood was conferred by Queen Elizabeth II at an investiture ceremony
at Buckingham Palace on 2 June, 2010.

UNIVERSITY OF HUDDERSFIELD

Since 2016, a building at the University of Huddersfield is named the Sir
Patrick Stewart Building in honor of his work at the university.

OLYMPICS

Stewart was one of the Olympic torch carriers for the 2012 London Summer
Olympics.

THIRD GREATEST YORKSHIREMAN

In a 2018 poll for Yorkshire Day, Stewart was voted third greatest Yorkshireman
ever, after Michael Palin and Sean Bean.


TEACHING

After moving from the United States to England in 2004, Stewart was appointed
chancellor of the University of Huddersfield. In 2008, he became a professor of
performing arts there, teaching master classes for drama students. He stepped
down from his chancellorship in 2015.

In 2007, Stewart was named as the next Cameron Mackintosh Visiting Professor of
Contemporary Theatre based at St Catherine's College, Oxford.

MARRIAGES

 * To Sheila Falconer; married in 1966 and divorced in 1990.
   
   Patrick Stewart has two children with his first wife; a son named Daniel and
   a daughter named Sophia. Daniel appeared alongside his father in the 1992
   episode ”The Inner Light” of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

 * To Wendy Neuss; married in 2000 and divorced in 2003. When they got engaged
   in 1997, she was one of the producers of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

 * To Sunny Ozell; married in 2013. They started dating in 2008 after meeting in
   New York City. They were married by Ian McKellen; first in Nevada and shortly
   thereafter in California (for legal reasons).
