MASTER OF PROJECT MANAGEMENT PREPARATION FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE Anderson's Master's in Project Management (MSPM) is a 30-hour program that you can complete online or on campus. The Master of Science program is designed for students interested in advanced-career technical or managerial roles in project controls, project management and program management in the private or public sector. During the program, you have the opportunity to apply for a paid student internship with Los Alamos or Sandia National Labs. Courses count for credit as formal education through the Project Management Institute, and you can apply them toward the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification offered through the Project Management Institute (PMI). This way, you are getting both the experience required for PMP certification and earning your master's degree. Applications for the online program submitted after all spots have been filled will be considered for our half-term classes starting October 14, 2024. Applications for the in-person program submitted after all spots have been filled will be considered for Spring 2025. 4+1 PROGRAM The 4+1 Program enables UNM undergraduate students to begin MSPM studies early, guaranteeing admission upon completion of the undergraduate degree and reducing the graduate degree’s cost. Before applying, undergraduate students are advised to complete Business Calculus and undergraduate Statistics. SUGGESTED TIMELINE * For the first three years of university studies, you will pursue a normal program of undergraduate work. Every UNM degree qualifies for admission to the 4+1 Program. * During the second semester of the third year of academic work, you will apply for admission to the MSPM program in the Anderson School. * In the fourth year of academic work, you will begin the first year of the MSPM program, completing 9 credits, and also completing the remaining requirements for your bachelor’s degree. * In the fifth year of study, you will complete the remaining 21 credit hours in the MSPM program.
