Bangladesh delegation visit to AERB


A delegation from Bangladesh visited Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) on
November 21, 2023 and held discussion with AERB officials as part of the 4th
Joint Committee Meeting between India and Bangladesh. During the discussion both
the parties affirmed to carry forward the technical cooperation between AERB and
Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority (BAERA) under the bilateral
Arrangement







AERB celebrates Ruby Jubilee anniversary on 15th November, 2023.

On completion of forty years, AERB celebrated its ruby jubilee anniversary on
15th November, 2023 to capture the experience of introspection and
transformation in the last four decades. Stalwarts of Indian nuclear fraternity
came together to extend their wishes to AERB on this momentous occasion.

On the margins of the 67th IAEA General Conference, India's Atomic Energy
Regulatory Board (AERB) & Nuclear Regulatory Authority of the Slovak Republic
(UJD SR) signed an MoU on 25/09/2023 for the exchange of technical information
and cooperation in the field of regulation of the safe use of nuclear energy for
peaceful purposes. The MoU was signed by  AERB Chairman, Mr. Dinesh Kumar
Shukla, and UJDSR Chairperson, Ms. Marta Žiaková, in the presence of dignitaries
of the respective countries.








AERB has recently issued licence for operation from radiological safety view
point to Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer
(ACTREC) for the operation of Gantry Treatment Room-3 (GTR-3) of proton therapy
facility model Proteus Plus, manufactured by Ion Beam Applications (IBA),
Belgium. This is the first proton therapy facility in India established in a

Protection Devices to spread awareness among personnel working in Diagnostic

AERB has revised Safety Guide on 'In-Service Inspection of Nuclear Power Plants'

AERB issues permission for the Phase-C Commissioning of KAPP-4.
The Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) issued Permission for the Phase-C
Commissioning stage of Kakrapar Atomic Power Project Unit-4 (KAPP-4) on February
09, 2024, after a satisfactory Safety Review. KAPP-4 is the 2nd reactor in the
series of indigenous 700 MWe PHWRs. In Phase-C Commissioning, the Reactor Power
is increased, in stages, up to the rated power level, while performing the
identified commissioning tests and assessing the plant data. Presently, KAPP-4
has been permitted to raise the power level up to 50% FP. Earlier, the
Permission for First Approach to Criticality and Low Power Physics Experiments
of KAPP-4 was issued on December 12, 2023.
