THE ORIGINAL MARATHON OF TORRES DEL PAINE

In the year 2012, Patagonian International Marathon® became the first marathon
to take place in Torres del Paine National Park. Since that first edition, the
event has occurred each year in the month of September, either inside the park
or within its surroundings. The only interruption was in 2020 due to the
pandemic. Since its origin, the event has brought together runners from more
than 65 countries, converging together in the extreme south of Patagonia to
fulfill the dream of running in one of the most pristine locations on the
planet. It is the most multinational marathon in Southern Chilean Patagonia.

EL MARATÓN ORIGINAL DE TORRES DEL PAINE

En el año 2012, Patagonian International Marathon® fue el primer maratón en el
Parque Nacional Torres del Paine. Desde esa primera edición, se ha desarrollado
anualmente en forma consecutiva en el mes de septiembre, al interior del parque
o en el entorno de éste. La única interrupción fue causada por la pandemia del
2020. Desde su origen ha convocado a corredores provenientes de más de 65
países, que convergen hacia el extremo sur de la Patagonia para cumplir el sueño
de correr en uno de los lugares más prístinos del planeta. Es el maratón más
multinacional de la Patagonia Sur de Chile.

RACING PATAGONIA®

Between February 2004 and February 2022, the Racing Patagonia® events have
brought together more than 10,500 runners from more than 69 countries over 36
total editions. In total, there have been 135 race days, totaling more than 10
thousand kilometers over southern Chilean Patagonia. Since its origin, the
fundamental concept has been to explore the territory and generate life
experiences based on unforgettable journeys, with the focus being on the
interaction between humans and nature. This has been the path to connect us
globally and export experiences and images from Chilean Patagonia to the world!

In the first few years, the efforts were focused on the design and organization
of an expedition race: Patagonian Expedition Race® (The Last Wild Race), who
inaugural edition took place in 2004. Later on, in the year 2012, Patagonian
International Marathon® was born, followed by Ultra Paine® in 2014 and Ultra
Fiord® in 2015.

Entre febrero del 2004 y febrero del 2022, los eventos del proyecto Racing
Patagonia® han sumado 36 ediciones (96 carreras) y han convocando a más de
10.500 corredores provenientes de 69 países. En total, han sido más de 135 días
en carrera cubriendo una distancia superior a los 10 mil kilómetros en la
Patagonia Sur de Chile. Desde el origen, el concepto fundamental ha sido
explorar el territorio y generar experiencias de vida basadas en un viaje
inolvidable, donde lo esencial es la interacción entre el hombre y la
naturaleza. Este ha sido el camino para conectarnos globalmente y exportar
experiencias e imágenes desde la Patagonia chilena al mundo!

En los primeros años, todos los esfuerzos se enfocan en el diseño y organización
de una carrera de expedición: Patagonian Expedition Race® (The Last Wild Race),
cuya edición inaugural fue en el 2004. Más tarde, en el año 2012 nace Patagonian
International Marathon®, el 2014 Ultra Paine® y el 2015 Ultra Fiord®.
