Luxus City is an upcoming dystopian Minecraft adult roleplay server set in the
year 2061! In Luxus City, the most technologically advanced city, androids live
a difficult life of oppression, while large corporations take advantage of the
bad economy. One company in particular, SynthTech, is responsible for the mass
production of much of the world's latest technology, including androids. Humans
and machines alike must learn to function together in society to survive.

With that said, there are some general things all roleplayers should know,
especially beginners.

NOTE: OUR DISCORD SERVER IS CURRENTLY 17+, BUT WILL LATER BE 18+ ALONG WITH OUR
MINECRAFT SERVER ONCE IT OPENS.

Sexuality: ERP and other sexually explicit scenarios are NOT allowed in public.
However, these types of roleplays are allowed in a private chat with the consent
of all other participants. Mild sexual jokes and references can be made publicly
as long as they are not overtly explicit.Violence: Mild violence is allowed, but
highly graphic roleplays (such as snuff or sexual violence) are prohibited,
regardless of if it's in private or not.Fetishes: With how many fetishes are out
there, from completely harmless to explicit, only you can judge. If your fetish

Q: When will the Minecraft server be publicly open?

A: We do not have a set release date yet, but the map still needs a lot of work,
and we still need to polish our custom plugins. Our map will be decently large,
so be prepared to wait a while!

Q: Will I need any game modifications (mods) to join?

A: Nope! Our server is entirely vanilla with a custom resource pack and custom
plugins for additional functionality.

Q: How will I be able to join the Minecraft server?

A: Once we enter the open beta phase, you will be able to join through the IP
address luxus.city on Java Edition. However, we MUST verify that you are 18+
before you are whitelisted. Feel free to add our server to your server list
early if you so choose!

Q: How will age verification work?

A: You may provide any legal documentation to an admin (or the owner) in Discord
DMs containing your birthdate, with all extra personal details censored, and a
paper beside the ID containing your Discord and Minecraft username. These
conversations will remain private, and will not be shared. Upon verification,
you will receive the "Age Verified" role in the Discord server and you will be
whitelisted on the Minecraft server.

Q: What makes Luxus City mature, and why does it contain mature content?

A: Our world's canon contains many inappropriate, dark and sensitive topics that
may not be suitable for everyone. As roleplayers running the show here, both
in-depth lore and world-building are important to us, and we feel it is wrong to
simply gloss over the darker sides of a dystopian city.

Q: What is the inspiration behind Luxus City?

A: Luxus City is inspired by Detroit: Become Human and Star Trek for the android
aspects, as well as Cyberpunk for the overall vibe. Luxus City, being a
fictional place, aims to highlight everything wrong with our society from a
technological, economic and hedonistic standpoint if it keeps heading in the
direction it is.

Q: As a roleplayer, how can I make my character fit into Luxus City?

A: First of all, you should try familiarize yourself with the our lore, and
memorize some of the city's slang from the lexicon as best you can. From there,
you can decide if you want your character to be a human, a cyborg, or a machine

The Past


THIS SECTION EXPLAINS THE TIMELINE LEADING UP TO PRESENT-TIME (2061).

Age of ArcadiaPlex

The Beginning

Anthony Grant, born in 1967, grew up in a wealthy family. During this time,
science fiction was extremely popular, which caused him to develop a great
fascination with robots. Inspired by his father's success as a business owner,
Anthony wanted to start his own business. He had childhood memories of visiting
places such as Chuck E. Cheese, and his fascination with the animatronic robots.
Ultimately, he decided to preserve his childhood memories by starting up a
similar venue, involving animatronic mascots to entertain children.

Establishing the Company

Once reaching his early twenties, Anthony established Arcadia Entertainment,
assuming the role of CEO and commencing the planning phase. In 1991, the company
finally opened their first animatronic restaurant, Arcadia Pizzeria. Despite
initial success, competition from Chuck E. Cheese, which attracted the same
target audience, led to financial difficulties, causing the pizzeria to close by
the year 2000. Following the closure, the company made the decision to target an
adult audience instead, eventually opening an animatronic bar called Arcadia
Club in 2005. However, due to a legal incident involving the animatronics, it
was forced to shut down in 2010.

A Fresh Start

At the age of 25, Anthony Grant got married and eventually had a son named Jacob
Grant. As Jacob grew older, he wanted to continue his father's passion for
creating a successful entertainment business centred around robotic mascots. In
2015, Jacob became the new CEO of Arcadia Entertainment, already planning out a
new location that aimed to target all audiences. As years progressed, careful
planning unfolded, ensuring that every detail was carefully orchestrated for
future execution. Finally, in 2030, this brand-new indoor amusement park finally
opened up, and it was called ArcadiaPlex. This place would reside in a small
city known as Azure City.

Reaching Success

ArcadiaPlex quickly rose to popularity, establishing itself as one of the
world's largest indoor amusement parks. The location had games, rides, parties,
restaurants, and even a cinema. At the heart of ArcadiaPlex were its robotic
entertainers, who took centre stage, keeping the tradition of the company's
previous locations. ArcadiaPlex soon began to thrive financially, shortly after
upgrading their existing robot mascots to be even more advanced. These models
had a more realistic personality and possessed a far wider range of overall
abilities.

Life as a Machine

The animatronics in ArcadiaPlex live a controlled life, being only seen as a
tool of profit. They play an active role in various forms of entertainment,
including stage performances and nightclub activities. However, their advanced
capabilities have led some employees to regard them as sentient. These
animatronics spend much time backstage and must obey strict schedules, lacking
flexibility. They lack significant control over decisions regarding themselves
due to the nature of what they are, which raises moral concerns among certain
employees.

Closure & Abandonment

In late 2042, an ArcadiaPlex employee decided to take legal action against the
park regarding the treatment of their robots and ultimately won the case. As a
result, the location was forced to shut down in 2043. This also resulted in
changes in the law related to the use of robots, specifically in sexually
explicit contexts. Subsequently, shareholders and executives of ArcadiaPlex
decided to pull out, leaving all assets behind to avoid further potential legal
issues. The neglected animatronics had to fend for themselves in the abandoned
location, most of them unable to survive past a few months.

Surviving Post-Closure

Initial Years

One of the animatronics in particular, Choci, was fortunate enough to quickly
escape the building. She was losing memory data due to the gradual shutdown of
the unmaintained server farm, but she retained enough information to continue to
operate. She also made a deal with a former ArcadiaPlex technician where if she
brought him enough money each week, he would keep her operational. She then
needed a job, so as a result, she ended up working on the streets with her
pre-established skill sets. It was a highly risky occupation, frequently
resulting in her being physically damaged due to its insecure and intimate
nature.

Transitional Era

Following years after the initial closure of ArcadiaPlex, Choci still adjusted
to the real world, while laws slowly adapted to the progressing state of
robotics. However, she eventually deteriorated, resulting in her eventual
shutdown in 2052. Choci was then stored in the basement of the technician who
sought to preserve her. Eventually, a new law emerged, granting machines minimal
rights if they passed the Sentience Test—a test that proved sentience. This new
test was in Choci's favour, leading to her being passed on to a company situated
in Luxus City—the world's tech capital—located on Luxus Island, a new U.S. state
in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. This company was able to assist her, resulting in a
sudden change of her luck in 2057.

Starting Fresh

Due to Choci's acknowledged advanced capabilities prior to shutting down, she
successfully passed the Sentience Test. Following this, her remaining data was
transferred to temporary housing in a computer, allowing her robotic
consciousness to persist. This process, known as porting, enabled her to
customize her own android body, resulting in a major transformation. Synthetic
Technologies, widely known as SynthTech, oversaw the production of these
androids. Due to their worldwide reputation as a primary manufacturer of
cutting-edge robotics, their android models became widely prevalent around the
world.

A Shiny New Life

Once leaving the factory, Choci navigated the world on her own. It was now her
responsibility to determine the course of her new life. SynthTech provided her
with a temporary apartment while she sought employment. Initially, Choci tried
working various minimum-wage jobs, only to be dismissed within a week or less
due to her struggle with self-control. Adjusting to her new life parallel to
that of a human, she faced numerous challenges and had much to learn. However,
after a few years, she fully assimilated into society, showcasing her
self-expression through her dyed hair and carefully chosen outfits.

Continuing the Legacy

In 2060, Choci made the decision to open a place of her own. As an android, she
faced the reality of being paid slightly less in traditional jobs, leading her
to opt for entrepreneurship as the best means to earn a living. Determined, she
educated herself on business management, laying the groundwork for her plan.
Thus, she opened ArcadiaZone, a club focused on androids situated in the local
red light district—a name partially inspired by ArcadiaPlex—preserving memories
and continuing the legacy.

Prosperity

Upon its grand opening, ArcadiaZone quickly flourished, driving Choci to be
successful. Thriving in her newfound business, she made the move from her
apartment to reside in her establishment, given that it had all the necessities
of a home—a practical choice in a challenging economy. Despite all the
challenges she faced, with determination and perseverance, Choci's life took a
successful turn. Since then, she has discovered her true passion lies in working
at ArcadiaZone, and she has been dedicated to her role at the club ever since.

The Present


THIS SECTION EXPLAINS THE CURRENT STATE OF LUXUS CITY AND THE WORLD.

Life in Luxus City

General Atmosphere

The atmosphere of Luxus City is defined by its reputation as the most
technologically advanced city. It serves as the headquarters for SynthTech and
many other major corporations, attracting a diverse population. As a result,
approximately a fifth of the city's citizens are androids, making it the city
with the highest android population worldwide. Many human inhabitants have also
chosen to modify themselves with cybernetic implants, seeking anything from
small enhancements to additional features to improve their daily lives. Overall,
the city is full of diverse individuals, offering encounters with a wide variety
of people.

The Economy

The economy of Luxus City is very unstable, with larger corporations holding
significant control, leading to a monopoly. A small number of individuals are
highly wealthy, while most others face financial struggles. High-class citizens
usually work in advanced STEM fields or own large businesses. Middle-class
citizens run smaller businesses or occupy lower-level STEM positions. For many
of those in the lower-class, job opportunities are scarce due to machines
replacing many low-paying jobs. However, a few small businesses still hire
people for simpler tasks as they cannot afford robotic labour.

Living Spaces

The unstable economy has caused high inflation rates, resulting in costly
housing and apartments. Many people who live in houses rent them from
corporations that own multiple properties, aiming to profit from these rentals.
As a response to pricey housing, some businesses offer living spaces for their
employees within their buildings. Unfortunately, Luxus City also has a
significant homeless population scattered in certain corners of the city, often
residing in alleyways in an attempt to stay out of others' way. These
individuals face immense challenges in finding employment and have usually given
up on the pursuit of jobs.

Fashion Trends

Luxus City showcases a distinct and unique fashion style. Men commonly wear
jackets with colourful accents over simpler shirts, usually paired with jeans or
baggy pants. Women's outfits feature revealing tops with cutouts or cropped
sweaters and jackets, matched with shorts or leggings, and occasionally baggy
pants. Due to the present dangers, gynoids usually avoid wearing skirts and
revealing outfits in public unless they are offering sexual services. Both
genders often wear sturdy boots, ranging from ankle-high to thigh-high. Many
outfits also include glowing elements, especially on clothing trims, hair
accessories, and the soles of footwear. Generally, the fashion trends of Luxus
City embody both a cyberpunk and futuristic style.

Recreation & Leisure

Within Luxus City lies a hedonistic society, where recreational activities play
a significant role in numerous people's lives. Many individuals embrace the
vibrant nightlife, frequently visiting bars and adult clubs. Others indulge in a
variety of other experiences, such as eating at restaurants or cafés, enjoying
spa treatments, and attending various venues. Unfortunately, some are driven to
rely heavily on drugs like synthmud, altering their minds and moods due to its
metablood properties. Despite these challenges, the city's wide variety of
recreational choices satisfy many different preferences and desires.

Androids in Society

Android Life & Culture

Despite being second-class citizens, androids live very similarly to humans,
possessing simulated emotions, senses, and the ability to think independently.
However, there are a few distinct differences in their lifestyle. First of all,
androids must devote a few hours each day to charging if they haven't consumed
enough food to fully maintain their charge, or if they cannot consume food at
all. During this charging time, they may also receive software updates to
improve their performance. Additionally, androids must undergo biweekly
maintenance checkups, similar to a doctor's visit, lasting around two hours, to
ensure their systems function properly.Android culture shares many similarities
with human culture; however, like their lifestyle, there are some slight
differences. One notable distinction is their constant fear or awareness of
negative human activity, leading many androids to prefer socializing with fellow
androids rather than humans. Another unique aspect of android culture is their
distinct taste in music. They often enjoy music with isolated random sounds,
which may not appeal to most humans due to their differences in information
processing. Many android musicians create this type of music, but unfortunately,
it often goes unnoticed by humans, receiving little attention.

Malfunctions

Random malfunctions may occur throughout an android's lifetime, often without
explanation. Examples include piston and servo jamming, where one or more
pistons or servos clog or cease functioning. Another issue is short circuiting,
which can occur unexpectedly and pose a significant inconvenience for an
android's tasks. False camera scans are more common in older models, affecting
their perception of faces and object recognition, potentially leading to
unintended consequences. Lastly, there is Acid Replenishment, a necessary task
during the biweekly checkup that ensures proper digestion and prevents a buildup
of unprocessed food in the stomach. Neglecting this task could lead to digestive
issues and discomfort.

Discrimination

In Luxus City and numerous other places, androids face frequent discrimination.
Many people view them as job competitors for humans and fail to recognize their
individuality, leading to various forms of mistreatment such as insults,
assault, and even exclusion from services. Gynoids often end up in the sex
industry due to objectification, and some people even prefer physical intimacy
with androids over humans, assuming they can achieve more with them.
Additionally, android employees usually receive lower pay than human employees
in human-run businesses. In certain countries, like the United Kingdom, androids
are completely banned. Overall, androids face significant challenges integrating
into society compared to humans.

Trafficking & Exploitation

Facing discrimination and limited rights compared to humans, androids are more
vulnerable to trafficking and exploitation. Those who specialize in hacking
androids are known as synthjackers, often deceiving androids into becoming
trafficking victims. Once trafficked, androids may be forcefully upgraded,
manipulated or reprogrammed to follow orders, forced into labour, sexual
services, or used for parts salvaging. Due to the prevalence of this danger,
many androids pay for services that provide restore points, regular backups of
their data to be used in case of reprogramming or data loss. Former victims have
the option to decide whether they want to retain memories of events after the
last restore point or not.

Terrorism Against Androids

Out of frustration over androids taking jobs in the workforce, some individuals
take extreme measures to eradicate them completely. They employ various attacks,
such as tasers and EMP rifles, which can permanently disable an android's
electronics. Other methods, like ratio wave and X-ray saturation, cause short
circuits. Additionally, the Chip Scrambler manipulates an android's data,
leading to slow memory loss and confusion. These attacks are not uncommon, and
as a result, many androids must remain vigilant and wary.

Anti-Humans

As a response to the mistreatment and discrimination received from some humans,
some androids hold deeply negative views towards humans, forming a faction known
as the Anti-Humans. This group aims to disrupt human activities and may attempt
to recruit other androids, collaborating to seek vengeance against those who
mistreated them. As a result, Anti-Humans generally hold a lesser regard for
humans as a whole, perceiving them as ignorant to the individuality of androids.

The People's Legion

The People's Legion, a gang in Luxus City, takes its name from the idea of
liberty and freedom. However, their actions go beyond mere advocacy. In 2054,
they emerged, initially aiming to rally people against the law granting basic
human rights to androids. Their attempts failed, but they persisted in their
extremist beliefs. One of their notorious creations is the Amalgachine, a
menacing force terrorizing and attacking other androids through violence and
vandalism. These monstrous beings are assembled from kidnapped androids, whose
bodies are modified and controlled through a Virtual Reality headset.The gang's
leader, known as The Overseer, remains elusive, with few witnesses offering
fleeting glimpses. Members of The People's Legion, both human and cyborg, have
the legion's signature 'L' logo tattooed on their right arms for identification.
Meanwhile, the Amalgachines bear the same logo painted on their foreheads. The
gang also collaborates with synthjackers to procure android resources and parts,
although even some synthjackers question the extremity of the gang's actions.

Politics

Luxus Island Parties

Android First Alliance (Progressionists)
This party advocates for granting androids more rights than humans, aiming to
establish an android-centric society where androids hold a dominant position in
decision-making and governance.The Unison Party (Equalists)
This party strives for complete equality between androids and humans, pushing
for laws that prohibit discrimination in employment based on one's nature as an
android or human.The Preservation Party (Conservatives)
This party aims to maintain the current laws, advocating for minimal android
rights and upholding the existing societal balance between androids and
humans.Machine Rights Repeal Alliance (Keepers)
This party seeks to revoke all rights granted to androids solely based on their
status as machines, with the ultimate goal of removing any special protections
they may currently have.Synthetic Ban Party (Traditionalists)
This party calls for a complete ban on androids, pushing for their complete
removal from society due to concerns about their impact on human life and
potential dangers they may pose.

Current Mayor

Mayor Evelyn Silverstone is the dedicated leader of Luxus City, known for her
progressive vision and commitment to technological advancement. Born and raised
in the city, she rose through the ranks, starting as a tech entrepreneur before
entering politics. Her policies prioritize equal opportunities for humans and
androids alike, promoting peaceful coexistence. Under her guidance, Luxus City
has seen steady growth, rising as a symbol of progress on Luxus Island and
around the world. Mayor Silverstone's leadership continues to shape the city's
future, ensuring a bright and equitable tomorrow for all residents.

Disputes

Despite Luxus Island's inclusive environment, it is not exempt from facing
disputes. The primary sources of tension arise from the United Kingdom, and
states such as Oregon, Vermont, Colorado, and California. These tensions largely
stem from differing views and laws regarding androids, among a few other
factors. Amidst the ongoing disputes, Luxus Island remains committed to
advancing technology while ensuring fairness in its implementation.

Business Trading

On Luxus Island, where business thrives, trading flourishes while money flows.
Luxus Island maintains strong trade partnerships with several allied countries,
including Japan, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, the
Netherlands, and Latvia. The cooperation with these countries provides Luxus
Island access to essential resources and materials that the small island
couldn't obtain independently, allowing it to progress and thrive with their
support.
