IS THE BED SOFT OR FIRM?

Trick question! It's both. Through the magic of physics, the Grid's columns give

WHAT DOES THE GRID FEEL LIKE?

FINALLY A DREAM BED!

We researched long and hard to replace our Tempurpedic mattress, and finally
decided on two twin Purple mattresses as we each needed our own bed. There is no
waiting to sleep on these, they expand quickly. The mattress is a little
"bouncy" when you sit on it, reminds of the older spring beds but just a little,
and I liked this. The first night went well for both of us, but we still weren't
sure, because sometimes it's hard to tell if a mattress is good for you in the
beginning. My husband slept cold, and while I was cooler but not cold, it's the
first time I had not sweated at night in a very long time. Quite a relief and
wonderful for me. I did place fleece sheets under the bottom sheets for added
warmth, and we both slept perfectly. As seniors it gets harder and harder to get
yourself out of bed when you are sleeping in an slumped down mattress and trying
to claw your way out of the foam surrounding you and sit up. The Purple Grid is
not like that at all. Hard to explain except it moves with you, creating
comfortable places for those pressure points that are needed to align the places
that you need, feels comfortable and cozy where needed yet is easy to get
turned, and easy to get up out of bed. You can sit on the side of the bed as
well and not slide off. Then to our pleasant surprise, aches and pains started
going away within a couple of days! No more hurting at night. So this is
something people might be able to relate too. On foam beds when you want to lay
on your back and put yours knees up, yet you can't because your feet will just
slide down no matter what you do You can do this on the Purple Mattress! Your
feet will go where you put them and stay, in comfort as well. We love our Purple
mattresses! When they wear out we will purchase again. I don't care what those
higher priced foam mattress companies say, a mattress does not last 20 years, at
least not a comfortable 20 years. So buy a mattress from a company who is
telling you the truth on how long to expect that mattress to last, most are 10
years. What sold me in the beginning was the trial period which made us feel
very comfortable about ordering the Purple Mattress, but now what has sold us is
how comfortable we are sleeping.

PURPLE HAS SHORTENED MY HEALING AND RECOVERY TIME FROM CONSTANT RANCHING AND
WORK INJURIES

I am a hard worker with way more to physically live up to than my body can truly
handle after a lifetime of ranching and working. I go to bed hurt from something
that happened during the day or simple overexertion more days than not. It is
very rare that I have woken up feeling rested. my purple mattress seems to
shorten my healing time exponentially and each night contributes to less overall
back and body tension. I received body work and use a foam roller. Both my
therapist and myself have noticed remarkable differences in the issues my body
has. The support for my curvy body allows my big hips and broad shoulders to
sink in and my narrow waist to get relief and support. I am no longer bent in
three different places no matter how I lay. I actually looked forward to going
to bed every night instead of being sure that I will only toss and turn. I no
longer bolt out of bed at 3:30 or 4:00 in the morning because I cannot lay down
comfortably another minute. Purple changed my life.

TO THE PAIN

First off I am a disabled veteran with insomnia back neck and head problems. I
am also overweight (6' 280lb) because I am not capable of working out due to
some of these problems. I also suffer from lack of sleep because of the pain
induced when I laid down to sleep. I might get 2 hours of sleep a night if I was
lucky due to the pain keeping me awake laying there the rest of the time. I have
tried numerous beds including the Sleep Number, Tempur-pedic, Memory foam, and
high quality pillow top spring mattresses to try to get some sleep but none of
them worked. I received my Purple Mattress yesterday and my fiance and I set it
up. I was actually hurting more than usual because the thing is so heavy so
moving it around was not easy. Yes I should have gotten a friend to help but
like most military vets I am stubborn. Anyway last night I was exhausted as
usual and instead of forcing myself to stay up because I didn't want the pain of
sleep yet I went to bed at 1950. It felt amazing like I was laying there like I
had before Afghanistan. I was asleep before 2000. I woke up once in the middle
of the night, I think out of habit scanned the room to make sure everything was
good including my fiance that I didn't feel get into the bed so it didn't wake
me up which is crazy, then went right back to sleep. I woke up and looked at my
phone for the time, it said 0515...... I was shocked.... I was not hurting.... I
slept for 9 hours..... I stood up and still did not hurt. There is a little
stiffness but that is it. I fed the cat and came in here to write this review.
Thank you Purple for giving me some of my sanity, sleep, and life back. I bought
the King size Purple Bed, Purple Platform Base, Purple Pillow, Purple Mattress
Protector, Purple Sheets (slate gray), and the Purple Seat Cushion. That sounds
like a large amount but, when you get it, you wish there was more ways you could
fit Purple Comfort items into your life because they bring your comfort level to
a new high whenever you use them.

PRETTY SOFT BED FOR A BIGGER GUY

It's a surprising soft bed in comparison to the beds I've (5' 10'' 260lbs) had
in the past. It is an extremely cool bed. Overall this is a good mattress but I
would prefer a firmer padding

I am sorry that you are not loving your Purple mattress, at this point. Our goal
is to help you get the kind of comfortable sleep experience that you deserve.
Here are some suggestions for you to consider- The type of frame or base you use
is a key piece to how your mattress feels. In order to fully support the weight
of the Purple mattress, we recommend a sturdy, flat surface, with no gaps bigger
than 3". You don't have to have one of our Purple bases, just make sure your
base or frame is flat, sturdy and solid. You can also add a bunky board or piece
of plywood to your existing bed frame, if it isn't already flat and solid, or
has slats wider than 3". Something else you may want to consider, in order to
accommodate your sleeping style, is doing an exchange. You can do a one time
upgrade/exchange to one of our other Hybrid Premier models, as long as it is
within your 100 night trial. The Purple mattress and the Hybrid 2" are the most
firm mattresses, and the Hybrid Premiere 3" and 4" are softer, with the 4" being
the most soft mattress we make. The 2", 3" & 4" is the amount of Purple Grid on
the mattress. The less Grid, the more firm, the more Grid the softer the
