 1. Why buy a self-cleaning litter box?
    A self-cleaning litter box provides many benefits for both cats and pet
    parents. First and foremost, a self-cleaning litter box ensures there is a
    clean bed of litter every time your cat needs to use the litter box. Cats
    prefer a clean place to do their business; if they're presented with a dirty
    litter box, they may go outside the litter box or not go at all—potentially
    leading to a host of health problems. A self-cleaning litter box eliminates
    the need for pet parents to have to scoop cat litter, saving time and
    frustration brought on by an unpleasant chore. Additional benefits provided
    by a self-cleaning litter box include better managing odor control, keeping
    cats' paws cleaner, and helping reduce litter usage.
    The Litter-Robot is the highest-rated automatic, self-cleaning litter box on
    the market. Unlike many other self-cleaning litter boxes that utilize rake
    mechanisms that can get jammed or clogged, the Litter-Robot features a
    patented sifting system that harnesses gravity to separate waste from clean
    litter, depositing the clumps into a waste drawer for easy disposal. The
    Litter-Robot also works well for multiple cats (up to four cats per unit).
    Cleaning the litter box is virtually as simple as changing a kitchen garbage
    bag. Is the Litter-Robot worth it? Yes—our self-cleaning litter box is an

    over time by using fewer resources. There's no need to purchase special
    litter, receptacles, or bags. Our self-cleaning technology removes only the
    clumps, leaving maximal clean litter after each cycle. Litter-Robot

 2. Does the Litter-Robot require special litter?
    The Litter-Robot does not require special litter or proprietary consumables
    like several other self-cleaning litter boxes on the market. In fact, the
    Litter-Robot works well with almost any clumping or scoopable litter. Litter
    beads and crystals that are small enough to pass through the screen will
    also work in the Litter-Robot. Alternative, plant-based litters may also
    work, but these tend to form looser clumps that can cause condensation in
    the waste drawer. When using a plant-based litter, we recommend emptying the
    waste drawer and cleaning more frequently. The Litter-Robot is not
    compatible with litters that are strictly absorbent, non-clumping,
    loose-clumping, newspaper-based, or wood-based pellets. You'll find that
    these incompatible litters create a muddy mess and interfere with the
    sifting process.
 3. Will my cat be scared to use the Litter-Robot?
    Most cats use the Litter-Robot just fine; we estimate that 96% of cat
    households successfully acclimate to the Litter-Robot. The trick is to ease
    your cat into transitioning to the Litter-Robot. We have many tried-and-true
    methods to overcome common barriers and facilitate the transition. You can
    avoid startling your kitty by leaving the Litter-Robot switched off until
    you notice your cat has used it. We recommend that you place the
    Litter-Robot in the same location as the old litter box. You can leave the
    old litter box near the Litter-Robot for a short time. Take a cup of litter
    from the old litter box and add it to the clean litter in the Litter-Robot.
    The scent will be familiar, and your cat should be inclined to check it out.

 4. Does the Litter-Robot eliminate all litter box odor?
    No, the Litter-Robot will not eliminate all litter box odor. However,
    because waste is promptly removed and contained in the base, typical litter
    box odor will be reduced significantly. Additionally, a large carbon filter
    located in the front of the waste drawer absorbs odors and moisture to
    discourage mold growth (a major culprit of that telltale litter box smell).
    This is why the Litter-Robot is a great choice for multiple-cat households.
    The amount of odor control the Litter-Robot will provide depends on the
    amount of odor created—by how many cats use it, what type of litter you use,
    and your cats' diets, among other things. Of course, the more often you
    empty the waste drawer, the less opportunity there is for odor to escape. It
    is also worth noting that scented litters are generally not as effective at
    absorbing odors as a high-quality unscented litter.
 5. Can kittens use the Litter-Robot?
    The Litter-Robot senses when your cat enters and exits the globe, which
    triggers the countdown timer and cleaning cycle. Kittens and small cats that
    weigh less than 5 pounds may not be heavy enough to trigger the cat sensor.
    Therefore, kittens and small cats that weigh less than 5 pounds can use the
    Litter-Robot, but not in automatic mode. Until they weigh enough, we
    recommend using your Litter-Robot in "semi-automatic" mode to keep your cat
    safe and relieve you from litter box scooping. For "semi-automatic" mode,
    leave the Litter-Robot switched off or unplugged. When you see your cat has
    used it, wait about 7 minutes for the waste to clump, then turn it on/plug
    it in. The Litter-Robot will automatically perform a clean cycle (which
    takes about 2 ½ minutes). Afterward, turn it off/unplug it again. Continue
    this supervised, semi-automatic mode until your kittens have gained
    sufficient weight to activate the cat sensor.
 6. What are the Litter-Robot dimensions? Will my cat fit?
    With entryway dimensions of 16"H x 10.25"W and interior globe dimensions of
    15"-17"H (depending on litter level) x 20"W x 20"D, almost any domestic cat
    can fit comfortably inside the globe; the Litter-Robot does not have a
    weight limit. Furthermore, the Litter-Robot can easily fit in a small
    apartment, bedroom, or bathroom—all while promoting greater odor control
    than traditional litter boxes due to its carbon-filtered, fully enclosed
    waste drawer. At 29.5"H x 24.25"W x 27"D, the Litter-Robot is about the size
    of a nightstand.
