HOW CAN ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS LEARN AND IMPROVE TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS?

Bradley R. staAts

Brad Staats is an award winning teacher and researcher who integrates work in
operations management and human behavior to understand how and under what
conditions individuals, teams, and organizations can perform their best. His
research uses archival data and field experiments to provide an
interdisciplinary perspective that contributes to improving operations in the
healthcare, technology, and service industries. He works with many companies
around the world on their learning and analytics strategies.

He not only researches and teaches on these topics, but also works to apply them
as an accomplished academic administrator. He serves as the Senior Associate
Dean of Strategy and Academics at UNC Kenan-Flagler where he oversees the
undergraduate, MBA, and Master of Accounting (MAC) programs, digital
transformation of course development and teaching excellence through the Faculty
Consulting Group as well as academic centers, including Energy, Family
Enterprise, Healthcare, Investment Management, Real Estate, Sustainability and
STAR Consulting. Prior to that he served as Associate Dean of MBA Programs where
he helped lead the full-time, evening, weekend, Charlotte (launched in 2022) and
online MBA programs through COVID and curricular transformation to build greater
inclusion and ties to industry.

In addition, he founded and leads the UNC Center for the Business of Health, an
interdisciplinary initiative that brings together expertise across UNC to drive
significant impact within higher education, the healthcare industry, and
ultimately in the lives of individuals and communities.
