It’s not long until our Milan design night but there is still time to get
involved.

 

Taking place during the annual Salone del Mobile in Milan, one of the world’s
biggest design festivals, the topics of cross-industry design and circularity
are fitting and should illustrate how different creative industries can work
together. The evening will be led by our all-star panel of experts: Klaus Busse,
head of design at Maserati; Tom Lloyd of Pearson Lloyd, and Emma Clerici of
Baolab Studio. We hope to see you there for cocktails, canapés and
collaboration.

 

A key topic of discussion in Milan will be CMF, so we caught up with some
experts – including Clerici – to learn more about the overarching megatrends in
this space. There is plenty more on that topic this week, with a feature on
Elmo’s ‘Zero Waste’ leather highlighting how authentic materials deserve a place
in the cockpit of the future. And make sure to join us on 27 April where a

Elsewhere, and there is a new segment from our recent visit to Polestar’s studio
in Gothenburg, which you can listen to (yes, listen!) here. Look out for more
podcasts like this on the way. Back in Italy, and Lancia has released more
images of its upcoming EV concept, this time giving a little more detail on the
rear three-quarter. There are unmistakable cues from the Stratos, but other
iconic models from Lancia’s back catalogue too.

 

There are also new sketches of the smart #3 ahead of its official reveal at the
Shanghai auto show this month. Described as an ‘electric coupé SUV’ it straddles
a couple of different segments, and CDN contributor Karl Smith writes that
hybrid bodystyles like this will become increasingly common. Get the full story
