I appreciate the clarity of Donna May’s writing in this easy to handle and use
journal.
Ms. May’s Dream Fishing Templates are genius. Questions are posed pertaining to
our dreams that most of us would never think to ask ourselves. There is a
physical spaciousness in the pages which invites writing and drawing.
We are called to look into dreams as an adventure without fear and given the
tools to do just that.
The journal is written from a Jungian and other depth psychologists perspective.
With this in mind it is a 5 star piece of writing.
My perspective is faith-based meaning for me dream interpretation is both
exploring my dreams and processing them through the lens of prayer (among other
sources). This process becomes a portal of intimacy with Heaven and breakthrough
within ourselves that is all too often overlooked in Western Culture church
teachings.
If your life outlook is faith based “The Portal of Dreams Journal” will be
especially valuable. Using the journal prayerfully will help facilitate a
greater understanding of your own mysterious, God given depths and shed light on
your path.

Everything about this book is lovely! I love how Donna May welcomes the reader
into the world of dreams and explaining about the nature of dreams from a Depth
Psychology perspective and practice. After following Donna May for several
years, I know that she is passionate about the dreams that are swimming around
in each of us. This resource will help me to capture my dreams so that I can
further explore the imagery and messages. The Dream Fishing template has plenty
of room to write and doodle and I love that I can record up to 30 dreams.
There's even room on the spine to personalize the journal with the month or year

This book/journal is partly Donna May's genius and partly the reader's genius.
Donna leads us to listen to our dreams, and to trust that the messages are
important and unique to us. She leads you to understand and trust your dream -
telling you why. Then she leads you into your own dreams through 30 dream
templates. She calls them "Dream Fishing Templates". Just knowing those
templates were there seemed to coax my unconscious to give me dreams. I went
dream fishing. What a treat! Then she invites you to join her online for further
guidance. Yay!

I know absolutely nothing about the study of dreams. When I heard about this
journal I thought it might be a helpful and practical introduction to the
subject but was unsure if it would have enough content for a beginner. There is
plenty of content! This journal is also a pleasure to hold and the layout and
large print makes recording your answers easy. I plan to incorporate art and
collage on my pages and there is plenty of room for that and the paper will
accommodate mixed media supplies. A quality product all around!

This dream journal is sooooo helpful in the promptings and template for helping
to tend the dream like asking about details that may be hard to pinpoint or nail
down without the thought of what were the feelings in the dream and what was the
landscape, or were there familiar places or characters or people in the dream.
This really is so helpful because dreams are hard to remember and just having a
template or a guide has been very helpful to me. Once I started using the
journal, my dreams became easier to remember and/or I could find details more
clearly because I became used to looking for things I hadn't thought of before.
( I keep it and a pen tucked in it next to the bed. ) I really invite people who
are curious to know more about their dreams and what they may be telling or
trying to tell us from a more conscious level to try this. In the past I have
used dream dictionaries or dream symbolism books, but this is nothing like that
and I find it to be much more personal, more direct, and more insightful because
I am the one filling in the stories and tending them not just using a "this
means that type of guide". I hope you find this dream journal as helpful as I
have. It also makes a great gift. I received one as a gift and I cannot say
enough about it! Donna May has a way of inviting the tending of the dream and
letting it reveal itself in a way that is so comfortable and easy. I have
learned a lot about myself and the language my dreams use to talk to me. That's
pretty cool!
