The Southwest Idaho Area Agency on Aging provides access to a variety of
long-term care services and supports. We cover the southwest section of Idaho
that includes the counties of Ada, Adams, Boise, Canyon, Elmore, Gem, Owyhee,

OUR VISION

To be the Southwest Idaho long term care resource hub that provides reliable and
accessible information.


PROGRAMS & SERVICES

Southwest Idaho Area Agency on Aging provides access to federal and state funded
services for older residents and family caregivers living in SW Idaho. We
administer federal Older Americans Act funding, partnering with community-based
organizations to provide congregate meal services, caregiver support, elder
abuse prevention, health promotion, information and assistance, legal support,
nutrition, senior centers, and transportation services. These services are
listed below.




STAY INFORMED

The Information and Assistance Program is the main entry point to services
within each Area Agency on Aging.

Congregate meal sites are places like senior centers where lunch is served on
weekdays to individuals age 60 or older.

Adult Protective Services programs provide for the safety and protection of
vulnerable adults that are, or are suspected to be, victims of abuse, neglect,
self-neglect or exploitation.

WHO WE ARE

The Southwest Idaho Area Agency on Aging is one of six Area Agencies in Idaho.
SWIA3 is part of a nationwide aging network created through the Older Americans
Act. Our funding is provided by the Idaho Commission on Aging to identify and
serve seniors at most risk of nursing home placement. Our focus is to help
provide information, resources, and support to those living in SW Idaho. “The
Older Americans Act clearly affirms our Nation’s sense of responsibility toward
the well-being of all of our older citizens.” –President Lyndon B. Johnson, 1965
