The G7 reiterated unanimous support for the US proposal for a ceasefire, the
release of hostages and support for the population of Gaza. The Prime Minister
said it Giorgia Meloni on the sidelines of the G7 work. “The G7 countries agree
in making every effort necessary to avoid the worsening of the crisis,” added
Meloni. A political agreement was also reached for the use of revenues derived
from frozen Russian assets: these are loans of 50 billion dollars to be
allocated to Ukraine, as reported by the Prime Minister. Meloni reported that
there is consensus among the leaders of the G7 countries on the conclusions of
the Borgo Egnazia summit.

Previously, the Prime Minister spoke at the side event on the Partnership for
Global Infrastructure and Investment, speaking about the importance of combining
financial resources to accelerate the development of all initiatives in Africa:
“I am proud to announce the creation with the African Development Bank of
innovative financial instruments available to those interested in these
strategies". The Prime Minister said it Giorgia Meloni, speaking at the side
event on the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment, within the
G7.

“For too long, Africa has been misunderstood, exploited and looked down upon: it
is up to us to collaborate with African nations and create new development
opportunities, to grow together,” the prime minister said. “We want to create
new jobs, opportunities and concrete answers,” she added.

The Prime Minister stated that the three pillars for a new partnership model
with African nations are represented by the Partnership for Global
Infrastructure and Investment (Pgii), the Global Gateway and the Mattei Plan.
“Between these three projects we want to create synergy activities, maximize
efforts and investments to obtain greater benefits for everyone,” added Meloni.
