<p><span style="font-style:normal"><span style="font-weight:400"><span style="white-space:normal">After careful consideration, PAR is no longer selling its proprietary desktop software as of February 1, 2024.

<p><span style="font-style:normal"><span style="font-weight:400"><span style="white-space:normal">Please note:</span></span></span></p>
<ul>
<li style="margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">We continue to sell the <b>Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI-SP)</b> and related modules. This software is <b>not</b>being discontinued.</li>
<li style="margin-bottom:11px; margin-left:8px">Any <b>existing software already owned</b> will continue to be supported through at least the 2024 Calendar year.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Why now?</b> </p>
<p>This decision was made because PAR is committed to providing our customers with access to our assessments in ways that meet the needs and demands of modern-day practitioners. This requires significant investment of time
and resources into systems that can respond in an agile manner to frequent updates, both to products and product platforms, and the demands of a changing technological and practice landscape. </p>
<p>While PAR prides ourselves on providing our customers with tests in many modalities, the convenience, popularity, and flexible nature of PARiConnect, our online assessment platform, has far surpassed the usage and
overall utility of our desktop software. Frequent and sometimes extensive Windows updates can cause complications for our software users, requiring updates/upgrades and ongoing development work. </p>
<p><b>What happens next?</b> </p>
<p>PAR staff have been involved in an extensive effort to evaluate our current software offerings and provide the necessary solutions and support to ensure a smooth transition for our existing software
customers. </p>
<p><b>For existing software customers:</b> </p>
<ul>
<li>Serial counters (where available for some software) will be sold through at least the 2024 calendar year. </li>
<li>If you currently own software, it will be supported through at least the 2024 calendar year. </li>
<li>If you are using the <b>PAI Software Portfolio (PAI-SP), the PAI Adolescent Software Portfolio (PAI-A SP) or any of the related PAI modules,</b> there will be no changes and you can continue using the software as you
currently are. The software and serial counters will be readily available. </li>
</ul>
<p><b>Software Alternatives on PARiConnect (Available Now and After February 1, 2024)</b> </p>
<p>Many of the tests currently available in software version or in print, can be administered and/or scored via PARiConnect, our online assessment platform. Registration is free and there is no yearly fee. If you are new
to PARiConnect there are many helpful <a href="/What-is-PARiConnect">training videos</a> and <a href="https://partalks.parinc.com/">webinars</a> to make you an expert in no time. </p>

<li>Browse to your PBRS-SP installation directory. The default folder is C:\Program Files (x86)\PBRS Scoring Program. If the system warns you that the file PBRS_SPTestModule.dll already exists, say Yes to overwriting
the file.</li>

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT PAR’S DESKTOP SOFTWARE
After careful consideration, PAR is no longer selling its proprietary desktop
software as of February 1, 2024.
Please note:
* We continue to sell the Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI-SP) and related
modules. This software is notbeing discontinued.
* Any existing software already owned will continue to be supported through at
least the 2024 Calendar year.
Why now?
This decision was made because PAR is committed to providing our customers with
access to our assessments in ways that meet the needs and demands of modern-day
practitioners. This requires significant investment of time and resources into
systems that can respond in an agile manner to frequent updates, both to
products and product platforms, and the demands of a changing technological and
practice landscape.
While PAR prides ourselves on providing our customers with tests in many
modalities, the convenience, popularity, and flexible nature of PARiConnect, our
online assessment platform, has far surpassed the usage and overall utility of
our desktop software. Frequent and sometimes extensive Windows updates can cause
complications for our software users, requiring updates/upgrades and ongoing
development work.
What happens next?
PAR staff have been involved in an extensive effort to evaluate our current
software offerings and provide the necessary solutions and support to ensure a
smooth transition for our existing software customers.
For existing software customers:
* Serial counters (where available for some software) will be sold through at
least the 2024 calendar year.
* If you currently own software, it will be supported through at least the 2024
calendar year.
* If you are using the PAI Software Portfolio (PAI-SP), the PAI Adolescent
Software Portfolio (PAI-A SP) or any of the related PAI modules, there will
be no changes and you can continue using the software as you currently are.
The software and serial counters will be readily available.
Software Alternatives on PARiConnect (Available Now and After February 1, 2024)
Many of the tests currently available in software version or in print, can be
administered and/or scored via PARiConnect, our online assessment platform.
Registration is free and there is no yearly fee. If you are new to PARiConnect
there are many helpful training videos and webinars to make you an expert in no
time.

Updates PBRS-SP version 1.01 to fix intermittent crashing when generating a
report.
Installation instructions:
1. Close your existing version of the software.
2. Download the update .zip file. If you see a prompt to Save or Open the file,
choose Save.
3. Locate your download directory, right-click the .zip file, and choose
Extract.
4. Browse to your PBRS-SP installation directory. The default folder is
C:\Program Files (x86)\PBRS Scoring Program. If the system warns you that
the file PBRS_SPTestModule.dll already exists, say Yes to overwriting the
file.
Note: If you subsequently uninstall your PAR software and reinstall it on a
different computer, you will need to reinstall the update.

4. Follow the instructions on the screen to install and activate the software.

Installation instructions:
Each download will update most versions of the programs listed.
1. Click on the program name to initiate the downloading process.
2. Save the download as a file in a temporary directory on your computer
(C:\Windows\Downloads is a good choice). If your Internet browser tries to
run the program (instead of saving it as a file), try holding down the Shift
key while clicking on the file or right-click on the file and choose Save
As.
3. After the download is complete, use the Windows Explorer/File Manager to
locate the file, and then double-click on the file to run it.
4. The update program will attempt to find the currently installed version of

Installation instructions:
1. Close your existing version of the software.
2. Although your existing CAB-SP Client files will not be deleted during this
update process, it is a good practice to always backup those files before
updating. Use your normal backup procedure. Client files are usually located
at C:\Program Files\CAB-SP\Clients.
3. Click on the program name to initiate the downloading process.
4. Save the download as a file in a temporary directory on your computer
(C:\Windows\Downloads is a good choice). If your Internet browser tries to
