Creating Champions for Wildlife

As a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization, donations to the zoo provide invaluable
support towards fulfilling our mission of creating champions for wildlife. With
these funds, we can create a world that is safe for wildlife and filled with
enriching educational experiences for all ages. Utah’s Hogle Zoo upholds the
highest animal care standards in the world as an accredited member of the
Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) — a distinction given to only 10% of
animal institutions.

BOOLIGHTS

BooLights at Utah’s Hogle Zoo is your family’s destination for not-so-scary
frights and lights! As you travel through Zoo grounds at night, guests will
encounter not-so-scary light displays and themed entertainment.

BREWLIGHTS (21+)

What do you get when you put BooLights and Zoo Brew together? BrewLights! This
special event is an Adults-only (21+), Halloween-themed drinking event filled
with beers, cheers, and fears.

BOOLIGHTS: DIA DE LOS MUERTOS

Celebrate Dia de Los Muertos at BooLights at Utah’s Hogle Zoo! This is an
added-value event that is included with BooLights admission exclusively on
October 26, 2022.

Animal Spotlight


MEET ZURI

Zuri is a female African elephant who was born August 10, 2009, at the Hogle
Zoo. Her mother is Christie (born in 1986), and her father is Jackson (from the
Pittsburgh Zoo). Zuri enjoys grasses, roots, leaves, tree bark, and branches,
and she drinks 30–50 gallons of water daily!
