On any given day, escalators at just two of the interchange hub stations along
Nanjing Metro Line 4 move an incredible 210,000 people. And on any given day,
KONE technicians are there to help make their journeys through the stations
smooth and safe. While this happens in the background, commuters along Line 4
are sure to notice the cultural murals featured along this east-west line of the
Jiangsu Province capital.


METRO CITY, SHANGHAI, CHINA

Located in the heart of Shanghai’s business district, the Metro City shopping
mall is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks. A crystalline globe-shaped
structure is the centerpiece of the complex, and its numerous retail and
entertainment outlets are a big hit with city dwellers who come visiting by the
tens of thousands. A total of 32 escalators work around the clock, helping move
people in and around the mall.


SHANGHAI METRO LINE 5, CHINA

The Shanghai Metro is among the busiest public transportation networks in the
world. The completion of Line 5 marked a major milestone in improving the
efficient and sustainable flow of city life as the zig-zagged route is the only
one to connect downtown Shanghai with the residential suburb of Fengxian. The
KONE solutions and maintenance team on the route keep people flow at the busy

ZEBRABOX SELF-STORAGE, WINTERTHUR, SWITZERLAND

A leading Swiss self-storage company, Zebrabox caters to more than 6000
customers across all its locations. Its facility in Winterthur is its latest and
most advanced and uses a service robot to help customers navigate the building
when storing or withdrawing items from storage. KONE’s digitally connected
elevators allow the robot to autonomously call elevators and travel across the
building.


ALICE@MEDIAPOLIS, SINGAPORE

ALICE@Mediapolis is Singapore’s first privately developed, green and smart
multi-tenant business park and office space. Located in the island nation’s
“Silicon Valley” and buzzing with creatives and start-ups, ALICE@Mediapolis is a
place where smart people flow, green choices and great minds come together.


110 NORTH WACKER, CHICAGO, USA

When you are looking for a world-class office experience, you can’t do better
than 110 North Wacker. Comprising of 57 stories and 1.6 million square feet of
prime office space, it is the tallest and one of the largest office buildings to
be built in Chicago in nearly 30 years. Home to some of America’s biggest
corporations, this state-of-the-art skyscraper features the latest in
technologies, also designed to provide the best tenant experience. Future-proof
technologies are also the key to a sustainable footprint of the equipment during
the whole life cycle of the building.


FINLAND AT DUBAI EXPO 2020, UAE

With an estimated 25 million visitors over the 6 months the Expo 2020 Dubai is
open, the event brings the world together. At the Expo, a striking
tent-meets-snow motif forms the basis for the structure that is the Finland
Pavilion. The theme for Finland is ‘Sharing future happiness’ – a task that it
will accomplish by showcasing the best and brightest in Finnish expertise,
innovations, and solutions. KONE is helping provide smooth people flow and
multisensory experiences to visitors to the pavilion. The company has a lot to
offer when it comes to technology and know-how on enabling smart and sustainable

Madrid’s 22-floor Edificio Bronce was in desperate need of modernization to
remain attractive to its 5-star tenants. A phased transformation brought in

Daxing airport is its unique appearance. Designed to look like a mythical
phoenix bird in flight, the building was inspired by traditional Chinese
architecture and blends classical and modern elements. Being Beijing’s
second-largest airport, it is capable of accommodating 45 million passengers by
2021 and 100 million with planned expansions. The efficient radial structure
aims to allow passengers to reach the flight gates from entering the building in
30 minutes maximum, and from the building’s central core in 8 minutes.


K-KAMPUS, HELSINKI, FINLAND

Smart, flexible and sustainable in design, K-Kampus is an energy-efficient
multi-tenant office, and the first in Finland to boast carbon neutral waste
management. Optimizing people flow was a vital ingredient in the design, which
offers flexibility far into the future and provides employees and partners a
“micro society” for collaboration.
