Specimen information is then synchronized with facility, courier, and laboratory databases in real-time and ready to be tracked. TRACKING 1. As the specimen is dispatched and arrives at each checkpoint, its RFID tag is scanned. 2. Via GPRS-enabled RFID technology, the location of the specimen is updated to the servers each time it is scanned during transit. 3. The specimen’s status can be tracked in real-time to see how long it has been in transit and to confirm if it has been securely delivered. MONITORING 1.
