A COMPLETE, END-TO-END SPECIMEN COLLECTING TRACKING MONITORING SYSTEM

SPECIMEN TRACK OFFERS AN RFID SPECIMEN TRACKING SYSTEM DESIGNED FOR HEALTH
PROFESSIONALS TO TRACK SPECIMEN SAMPLES IN REAL-TIME AS THEY ARE DELIVERED FROM
COLLECTION TO LABORATORIES.

VISIBILITY

Gain 100% visibility of specimen location in real-time, as it is in transit and
en route to the laboratory.

ACCURACY

Improve specimen handling accuracy by reducing labelling errors and avoiding
misreading of specimen information.

PRODUCTIVITY

Increase lab productivity by eliminating manual transcription processes and
time-wasting searches for specimens.

REDUCTION

Enjoy a reduction in operations costs and error-prone situations by going
paperless and avoiding mislabelling.

HOW IT WORKS

COLLECTION

 1. Each specimen is assigned an RFID tag once it is collected for tracking.
 2. The RFID tag stores key details of the specimen including patient
information, specimen origin, intended destination, and suspected disease.
 3. Specimen information is then synchronized with facility, courier, and
laboratory databases in real-time and ready to be tracked.

TRACKING

 1. As the specimen is dispatched and arrives at each checkpoint, its RFID tag
    is scanned.
 2. Via GPRS-enabled RFID technology, the location of the specimen is updated to
the servers each time it is scanned during transit.
 3. The specimen’s status can be tracked in real-time to see how long it has
been in transit and to confirm if it has been securely delivered.

MONITORING

 1. Once the specimen arrives at the lab, it is scanned to complete the delivery
cycle and its status is updated across all facility databases.
 2. Specimen info is automatically integrated into laboratory systems so that
    accurate diagnosis can begin immediately.
 3. While in-lab, each specimen can be monitored for location, temperature, and
current lab status during the diagnosis process.

BENEFITS FOR EVERY LAB

DISEASE CONTROL & INFECTION

 * Efficiently track the delivery of specimens in real-time as they are in
transit and en route from community sources to the microbiology laboratory.
 * Track how long the specimen was in transit to determine whether it can still
   be used.
Clearly identify specimen origin and the suspected disease.

HOSPITAL LABORATORIES

 * Quickly setup specimen information during collection and accurately identify
patient samples to avoid human error during the diagnosis process.
 * Have a clear view of where the clinical specimen is within the facility;
whether it is in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, or microbiology, enabling
the most efficient diagnosis to patients hospital-wide.

COMMUNITY LABORATORIES

 * Accurately track where each specimen is arriving from and be confident that
specimen data is automatically integrated into your laboratory system.
 * Know exactly where each specimen is located at every point of the specimen
   processing workflow.

BLOOD BANKS

 * Effectively track blood specimens as they are delivered to the blood centre.
 * Monitor blood specimen inventory to increase the proficiency of catering to
   patient transfusion needs.
 * Accurately manage blood specimens to minimize transfusion errors.
