Literally the only downside I’ve found to DS Video is that I can’t manually sort
items in a playlist. It wouldn’t even find Constantine at all. I couldn’t then
fix them up to have the right names, because it only allows one show per folder.
It then got most things right, but Arrowverse became 8 shows, called “Year One”,
etc.

So I tried adding each of the four folders separately. Plex found four shows:
“Archive X”, “ News Watch”, “Arrow”, and “Marvel Cinematic Universe”, which
isn’t a show, so it found no metadata. Use case: my tv shows are sorted into the
following structure:Īrrowverse has all the CW shows named with a number at the
start to have them in chronological order so as to get all crossovers correct.ĭS
Video finds every single show when I point it to the TV Shows root folder, and
names them accordingly. Plex ignores anything in subfolders and assumes you have
only one show per folder, and allocates metadata based on the folder name. DS
Video just finds every file in the folder you choose, regardless of sub folders,
and allocates metadata based on the file name. But putting that aside, it’s so
restricted in everything you do. Firstly, the constant pop ups asking me to
subscribe are an immediate killer for me. Everyone kept telling me to ditch DS
Video and use Plex instead.
