An all-time high of four million workers left their jobs monthly in 2021. Now
the Great Resignation has given way to a Great Reshuffling, in which employees
are in high demand, the labor market is tight and remote work lends itself to
geographically boundless opportunities.

For women, however, there’s an important puzzle piece that we’re overlooking. If
we’re to understand why they leave and what employers can do to retain them, we
must address the issue of “non-promotable work.”
