Foreword
Today we see the evolution
of general counsels (GCs) to
become corporate leaders in
both risk management and
business growth continuing at
warp speed. CEOs and Boards
have pushed GCs to tightly
manage the growing compliance,
privacy, and regulatory risks
facing their companies. At the
same time, an enterprise’s most
senior legal officer must play a
more strategic business role to
promote growth. Where is all
this going?
Although traditionally pigeon­
holed as less tech­savvy than
their enterprise colleagues, our
recent conversations with GCs
revealed a new commitment
to invest in technology. Post­
COVID pandemic, there is a
recognition that a lack of tech
for remote work can never again
jeopardize the work of lawyers.
