FRIDAY, AUGUST 12

Having already toured once this year, reggaeton superstar Bad Bunny is hitting
the road again for a massive stadium run he’s dubbed World’s Hottest Tour.
That's quite a claim, but if anyone's up for the task, it's the Puerto Rican
artist. In May, he dropped his fourth album, Un Verano Sin Ti, which served to
showcase how versatile an artist Bad Bunny truly is. The album was met with
critical acclaim and debuted atop the Billboard 200. On Friday and Saturday,
you'll find out if the tour's name isn't just Bad Bunny stroking his ego. 7 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, at Hard Rock Stadium, 347 Don Shula Dr., Miami;
305-943-8000; hardrockstadium.com. Tickets cost $53 to $994 via
ticketmaster.com. Ashley-Anna Aboreden

Local bands Crud, Holly Hunt, Wrong, and Devalued take the stage at the Auld
Dubliner Irish Pub in downtown Miami for a Friday-night rager. Things will get
loud as these folks deliver the sludgiest metal this side of the Everglades. As
Crud so eloquently put it on its Instagram teaser for the event, "For $10 you
can windmill with a fellow rawker while getting pummeled by these rippers at the
Dubliner." Couldn't have said it any better. 7 p.m. Friday, at the Auld Dubliner
Irish Pub, 91 NW First St., Miami; 786-353-2339; theaulddublinermiami.com.
Tickets cost $10 via eventbrite.com. Jose D. Duran

are encouraged to bring their own mat and towel). 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at
Esencia Wellness Spa at Eden Roc Miami Beach, 4525 Collins Ave., Miami
Beach; 305-674-5540; edenrochotelmiami.com/spa. Tickets cost $15 via

Expand your taste buds and submerge yourself in Black culture at this year’s
Black Pepper Food & Wine Festival. Guests are welcomed to bite into savory meals
cooked up by more than 30 Black restaurateurs waiting to make their mark on the
Miami community. Foodies will take part in a communal celebration made up of
live music, chef and mixology demonstrations, a Black vendor marketplace, live
podcast interviews, and more. Guests are invited to dig their teeth into quality
meals while supporting some of Miami’s Black-owned restaurants and food trucks.
3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at Florida International University Biscayne Bay Campus,
3000 NE 151st St., North Miami; 305-348-2000; blackpepperfoodfest.com. Admission
is free; VIP tickets cost $75 via eventbrite.com. Sophia Medina

the Woman's Club of Coconut Grove with a refreshing lineup of brews. Guest can
imbibe craft beers served by local breweries, including Veza Sur, the Tank,
Islamorada Brewery, and Bay 13. On top of delicious local beers and cocktails,
there will be seminars, live music, and food vendors. 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, at
the Woman's Club of Coconut Grove, 2985 S. Bayshore Dr., Coconut Grove;
miamieventsandfestivals.com. Tickets cost $29 to $149 via eventbrite.com.

Inter Miami CF vs. New York City FC at DRV PNK Stadium: See Saturday
Photo courtesy of Inter Miami CF
On Saturday, Inter Miami CF hosts New York City FC at DRV PNK Stadium. The home
team currently stands at number nine in the Major League Soccer Eastern
Conference, outside of playoff contention. (Florida's other soccer club, the
eighth-ranked Orlando City, is also in danger of not making it.) New York City,
last year's MLS Cup champions, is currently ranked second, meaning Inter Miami
needs to be on its A-game on Saturday if it's going to move up in the standings.
Luckily, the team has until early October to improve. 8 p.m. Saturday, at DVR
PNK Stadium, 1350 NW 55th St., Fort Lauderdale; intermiamicf.com. Tickets cost
$34 to $248 via ticketmaster.com. Jose D. Duran

performance showcasing his talents and original work. The young musician rose to
stardom as a season ten finalist on The Voice. He is recognized for creating
reinterpretations of classic tracks from artists such as the Beatles and Louis
Armstrong. A multi-instrumentalist, he has received recognition from pop-soul
artist John Legend and praise from Billboard for his "earnest, uplifting
presence." 8:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts,

through the work of these artists. 6 p.m. Sunday, at Sandrell Rivers Theater,
6103 NW Seventh Ave., Miami; 305-284-8800; sandrellriverstheater.com. Tickets

Born This Way Foundation, the nonprofit founded by Lady Gaga that supports youth
mental health, has announced that 22 organizations will receive grants and
volunteer support ahead of Lady Gaga’s Chromatica Summer Ball Tour, which kicked
off on July 17 in Düsseldorf and stops at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens
on September 17.

Two South Florida organizations, Guitars Over Guns and the Alliance for LGBTQ
Youth, will receive grants ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 and meet with
volunteers from the Born This Way Foundation during the Chromatica Summer Ball's
Miami stop.

“We are thrilled to announce the 22 organizations whose community-led work we
will invest in through our Kindness in Community Fund," said Maya Enista Smith,
executive director of the Born This Way Foundation, in a statement. "The
diversity of essential services these organizations provide represents the
intersectional approach we must take to address and support mental wellness,”
adding that “Young people have clearly stated their need for proactive mental
health support, especially as they face overlapping global crises. These
organizations work for and with young people, ensuring their perspectives and
needs are placed first.”

Guitars Over Guns originated at a Miami middle school in 2008 with a mission to
address the mental health of Miami youth in underdeveloped areas. The program,
which focuses on music counseling, has expanded to Chicago and Los Angeles and
offers no-cost music lessons. Its data shows that students greatly benefit from
the mentorship and life skills learned in the program. Supporter of Guitars Over
Guns include the Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs, the National
Endowment for the Arts, the Children's Trust, and the Miami Foundation.

“Guitars Over Guns proves what is possible when we invest in tomorrow’s leaders
and create equitable opportunities for youth," Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine
Cava has said of the organization. "Their work addressing the scourge of gun
violence at its root, using the power of music, is a shining example of
meaningful change-making."

The Alliance for LGBTQ Youth describes itself as an organization that “provides
a comprehensive system of care to LGBTQ youth, their families, and community
organizations throughout Miami-Dade at no cost.” The organization's services
include counseling for LGBTQ youth in one-on-one and group sessions. It also
specializes in family therapy and sensitivity training for community
organizations and teachers. The organization published a zine this year, Queer
Youth Are Eternal, which focuses on the stories of LGBTQ youth and the
increasing number of anti-LGBTQ policies and laws. The Alliance for LGBTQ Youth
supporters include the National LGBTQ Task Force, the Children's Trust, and the
Miami Foundation.

Born This Way Foundation was created by Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia
Germanotta. The foundation centers its work around support for young people in
every community. In 2017, members volunteered with local organizations during
stops at Gaga’s Joanne World Tour. This prompted the creation of the Kindness in
Community Fund, which gives grants to local organizations that support the
well-being and mental health of children and teenagers in their areas. Now the
fund has committed $1 billion to the organizations located where the Chromatica
Summer Ball Tour stops.

Prepare for some adorable puppies with that downward-facing dog.

On Saturday, August 13, Eden Roc Miami Beach will host its first puppy yoga
session. Conducted by its on-property Esencia Wellness Spa staff, the session
will cater to novices and yogis alike.

Animal Lovers Rescue (ALR), a local nonprofit that rescues animals from
emergency situations, abandonment, and euthanasia, will be onsite with
approximately a half-dozen pups that will interact with guests. The cost for the
session is $15, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting ALR.

“This will be a very nurturing experience,” says Dayleann Vallejo, director of
spa and retail at Eden Roc Miami Beach. “This won’t be just traditional yoga,
where you focus on yourself, but it’s about a connection to others as well.
There is no doubt that the puppies will just want to play, be nurtured, and have
fun. So, it will be about a joyful connection with them while having
self-focus.”

The one-hour event will take place in the hotel's spa garden, complete with
panoramic ocean vistas as well as the glamour-meets-nostalgia of the property.
(If it rains, the puppy-fest will be moved inside to the Esencia Wellness Spa
area.) Attendees are encouraged to bring their own mats and towels.

Should folks fall in love with a four-legged friend, adoptions will be available
shortly after the event, pending standard owner vetting and background checks.
As for making the most of the yoga experience, Vallejo has some pro tips.

“Rule number one will be to not take it too seriously,” she says. “It’s all
about having fun and letting go. Yes, the puppies will want to lick you, run
around and play, so I would not try a headstand or inversion that requires too
much focus.”

If it’s all wags on Saturday and the first event is a success, the property
hopes to have more puppy yoga soon. The event is part of an overarching
rejuvenated vibe at the Eden Roc, with a variety of new programming and events
in the pipeline. Among the regular happenings are a full-moon shaman yoga
experience and monthly astronomy night.

“We’re always looking to wow our guests,” says Liz Segel, the hotel's director
of marketing. “If we can make memorable experiences and help a great cause, it’s
a win-win.”
