Since inception the CES Foundation has funded more than $235,000 for mini-grants to CES educators, program grants for C.E.S. schools and programs, and professional development grants for educators in CES member districts. Applicants go through a rigorous application process and give both oral and written evaluations to the Board of Directors annually. The classroom-based mini-grants are designed to foster creativity and extend the classroom learning experiences beyond the regular curriculum. The program grants encourage full school or program experimentation and research in best and promising practices that not only enhance the learning opportunities for students in CES schools and programs but also may be shared with CES member districts. Once the success of either the mini-grants or the program grants have been demonstrated, it is expected that the concepts and experiences will be embedded in the regular operating budget.
