November is Military Appreciation Month! Here are a few things you can do to
show your appreciation to the military families in your life:

⭐ Bring them a meal: Nothing shows love like a home cooked meal! You can drop it
off or join them to eat it.

⭐ Offer to Babysit: This works great wether you're taking the kids off the hands
of one spouse or two!

⭐ Pray for them: Even if you're not near a family, you can always pray for them.
Check in to see how you can lift them up in prayer.

Thank you for your service! Here's a story shared from Navigators Military
Staff, Jonathan Van Slyke:

"Yesterday, I was getting gas in my Jeep at Costco. A man came up to me and
asked, "Is that your Jeep?"

I said, "Yes."

He then said, "I like your Jeep."

I said, "Thanks."

He said, "Do you know what I like about your Jeep?"

I said, "What?"

He pointed to my license plate and said, "It has a disabled veterans license
plate." (My license plate begins with DV)

He then asked, "Is this jeep registered to you?"

I said, "Yes."

He said, "Can I shake your hand?"

As we shook hands, he gave this well practiced thank you speech. I was caught
off guard, so I don't remember any of it (to my shame).

In the handshake, he also passed the challenge coin in the picture to me, and
afterwards gave me the Huey pin. Read the definition of Veteran on the back of
the coin.

It always feels wrong to say "Happy Veteran's Day" considering how much many
veterans have sacrificed. I much prefer what the coin says and want to pass it
on to those who served and gave for our country,

'Thank you for your service!'"

Event Rescheduled! Read more for details ⬇️

Due to low registration numbers for this retreat scheduled for 8-11 Nov 2024 and
desiring to be good stewards of the resources God has provided for this event,
the planning team has decided to reschedule this event for 23-26 May 2025,
Memorial Day weekend.

There will be more information coming after the new year, but would you please
pray for next steps and do the following:

1) Share the rescheduled retreat with those you know who are uniformed women
(military, cadets & first responders), chaplains, your local church, and others

2) Mark your calendar for 23-26 May 2025 if you are a uniformed woman and

3) Keep an eye out for a January update.

The Navigators talk about discipleship a lot. So what is discipleship? This is
how The Navigators defines it:

A disciple is someone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior,
intentionally learns from Him, and strives to live more like Him. Discipleship
is a widely-used word to describe a journey of spiritual growth. This growth
happens as a person comes alongside another to witness to them, pray with them,
study the Bible with them, and fellowship with them.
