   GOD BE WITH YOU

The word goodbye comes from a contraction of the phrase God be with you. I’m
sad to announce today that I’m leaving the Entity Framework team and
Microsoft. I’ve been on the team for over thirteen years. I love my job, I
love the product, and I love the community. I intended to stay until the day
   management eventually disbanded us.

   MORE SQLITE ENCRYPTION IN .NET

Recently, @utelle, the author of SQLite3 Multiple Ciphers reached out to me
about creating a new SQLitePCLRaw bundle. We worked together with @ericsink
to make it part of the main SQLitePCLRaw project. Today, I’m super excited to
announce the initial preview of SQLitePCLRaw.bundle_e_sqlite3mc. But before
we talk about that, let’s talk a little about what SQLite3 Multiple Ciphers
   is.

COMMAND PROMPT IS STILL KINDA UGLY

Nearly a decade ago, I wrote about how Command Prompt was ugly. We’ve come a
long way since then. Windows Terminal is infinitely more beautiful, but I
still don’t like the default color scheme.

IMAGE METADATA USING WINRT ON .NET

Did you know you can tap into a whole world of Windows Runtime (WinRT) APIs
using .NET 6? No really, APIs for media transcoding and composition, face
detection, OCR, speech recognition, and text-to-speech are just sitting there
waiting to be used by your apps. In this post, we’ll use some of these APIs
to answer the Who, When, and Where of an image file.

   SQLITE IN VISUAL STUDIO 2022

A couple of years ago, I was thinking of ways to see if any fundamental
ADO.NET features were still missing from Microsoft.Data.Sqlite, or if it
broke any long-established assumptions. I decided to try implementing a
Visual Studio Data Designer Extensibility (DDEX) provider.

ON .NET - ENTITY FRAMEWORK MIGRATIONS EXPLAINED

This week, @JamesMontemagno invited me onto the On .NET show to talk about
migrations. I answered questions like: What are they? Should I use them? How
do I use them? What if I’m using Dapper or SQLite-net? How are projects like
Fluent Migrator and DbUp related? I even got to show off SQLite Toolbox.
Watch it, and let me know what you think!
