NEW complete beginner class for ADULTS (A1.101.0) opens in December (Thursdays
6pm in person in our office in Bingham farms)

We also still have space in our complete beginner class at the St Clair shores
location (class starts there Tuesday October 29th and continues Thursdays @ 7pm)

Along with regular classes a lot of conversational/thematic classes are offered,
Try them and speak more!

ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE DETROIT FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL- COMPLETE FESTIVAL

Join us this November for an enchanting cinematic journey at the Alliance
Française de Detroit's French Film Festival! This year's festival will showcase
a selection of exceptional French films that span a range of genres, promising
to captivate audiences of all ages.




Our lineup includes the swashbuckling adventure "The Three Musketeers:
D'Artagnan," a thrilling tale of heroism, friendship, and intrigue set in the
vibrant world of 17th-century France. 

Experience the power of music and determination in "Divertimento," a story that
celebrates the passion of two sisters as they navigate the challenges of the
classical music world.

For the young and young-at-heart, "Le Château des Singes" (The Castle of
Monkeys) offers a magical animated journey into a world where courage and
curiosity lead to extraordinary adventures.

 Meanwhile, "L'Argent de Poche" (Small Change), directed by the legendary
François Truffaut, captures the joys and tribulations of childhood in a small
French town, reminding us of the innocence and resilience of youth.

Whether you're a long-time Francophile or new to French cinema, our festival is
the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the language, culture, and
storytelling traditions of France.

ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE DETROIT FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL- THE THREE MUSKETEERS:
D'ARTAGNAN & FESTIVAL OPENING

Join us this November 08th for an enchanting cinematic journey at the Alliance
Française de Detroit's French Film Festival! 

This year's festival will showcase a selection of exceptional French films that
span a range of genres, promising to captivate audiences of all ages.




Our opening event will start at 7pm with a gathering time were you will be able
to grab a drink and snacks at 7:30 pm we will have a film director's
presentation  that will be followed at 8pm by "The Three Musketeers:
D'Artagnan," a thrilling tale of heroism, friendship, and intrigue set in the
vibrant world of 17th-century France. 




Alexandre Dumas’ thrilling and beloved classic novel The Three Musketeers has
spawned multiple adaptations since its publication in 1844, but none have
approached the scope and spectacle of this wildly entertaining, blockbuster
two-film production from director Martin Bourboulon, who assembles an all-star
cast for the first French cinematic treatment in over 30 years. D'Artagnan is
the Part I of the series

.

Set in the early 17th century kingdom of France, the opening installment
D’Artagnan follows a spirited young swordsman, Charles D’Artagnan (François
Civil), on his journey from Gascony to Paris to join the King’s elite Musketeers
of the Guard. Along the way, he narrowly escapes death whilst heroically saving
a woman from being kidnapped. In his efforts to enlist, D’Artagnan manages to
offend the sensibilities of three of the most formidable Musketeers in the
ranks, Athos (Vincent Cassel), Porthos (Pio Marmaï) and Aramis (Romain Duris).

But D’Artagnan soon wins them over, and his dedication to help his newfound
friends and serve King Louis XIII (Louis Garrel) will lead him not only into the
path of the mysterious Milady de Winter (Eva Green) and the Queen’s consort
Constance (Lyna Khoudri), but into the heart of a conspiracy where the future of
the nation itself is at stake.

France’s biggest box-office success of 2023, Bourboulon’s magnificent production
- lavishly produced with a budget of over $39 million (France, Belgium, Spain
and Germany)- is respectful of its source but enriched with contemporary
touches; the film is chock-full of humour, romance, palace intrigue and
pulse-pounding action.

DES SINGES

Join us this November 09th for a continuing cinematic journey at the Alliance
Française de Detroit's French Film Festival! 




This Saturday, the event will start at 2:30 pm with a gathering time, were you
will be able to grab a drink and snacks .At 3:00 pm, we will have our movie, Le
Château des Singes. A little gem, released in 1999, this animated movie was
directed by J-F Laguionie




Kom is from a tribe of monkeys who live in a canopy. He rejects elders’
authority as well as the superstition that the lower world would be inhabited by
demons. But he accidentally falls from the trees…
