Statement of Purpose: The Manager of Education is recognized as having a management, leadership position within the Hospital organization. With the guidance of the Director for Professional Practice, and in collaboration with the department staff, the Education Manager leads the assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of clinical educational activities. This includes but is not limited to: new hire orientation, newly licensed nurse transition to practice program, annual competency assessment plans, staff development opportunities and school of nursing affiliations for the Department of Nursing. Additionally, this role serves as an educational resource to other hospital departments. Direct reports include the Staff Education Instructors, and Department Education Services Assistant. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and Master’s degree in Nursing, Education or related field required. Certification/License: Current Massachusetts RN license; Certification in Nursing Professional Development or related specialty required or achieved within 2 years of hire.Experience: 3 years formal teaching and program development experience. Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and leadership skills. Management experience and performance improvement experience preferred.
