Our approach to developing talent at HSBC is driven by skills. We’ll help you
develop the skills aligned to the roles you may be suited to. You’ll also have

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
You’ll benefit from a structured programme, which provides many opportunities to
develop a mix of technical and behavioural skills.

* Launch: You’ll start your placement with an induction into the bank and the
specific business area you have chosen.
* Skills initiatives: We’ve carefully curated a variety of activities that will
support development against specific skills – such as a bespoke skills
playbook and global speaker series.
* Continuous guidance: Your line manager will be on hand to offer advice on
your career options and guide your aspirations.
* Real-work experience: You’ll be working on live project work, giving you the

Each global graduate programme begins with an induction – we call it Launch –
where you’ll meet other new graduates and your programme managers. It’s an
exciting first opportunity to:

Our global graduate programmes often include a number of rotations, providing
you with a breadth of experience across our core business areas. This variety
will help you identify where your strengths and interests are so you know where
to direct your career after the programme. Rotations will:

Learning opportunities include (but aren’t limited to):
* Technical training: Training sessions and workshops focussed on giving you
the technical skills you need for the roles you’re aiming for.
* Placements: Give you hands-on learning, helping you put your knowledge into
practice in the real working world. During your placements, you’ll have the
support of a manager who’ll guide and help you develop as you need.
* Digital and data literacy: Through a series of interactive workshops you’ll
learn about key digital and data topics relevant to our business that will
give you the skills needed today and in the future.
* Talent Marketplace: Through this platform, you can match your skills,
experience and ambitions to short-term projects available across HSBC. This
gives you new ways to apply your knowledge, experience different teams and
grow your network.
* Speaker Sessions and Coffee Chats: Learn from a range of internal experts and
speakers in these quarterly interactive sessions. Topics range from specific
skills to key strategic areas.
* Hackathons: Over the course of eight to ten weeks, you’ll get to work with
other interns and graduates across HSBC on a real-world challenge faced by
our business. You’ll work together to identify and present innovative or
sustainable solutions.
Structured classroom training, online training and access to our global HSBC
University means you can constantly update and build on your expertise.
ONGOING SUPPORT
In addition to formal training, you’ll also have many opportunities to learn
from others.
