WELCOME TO PFLAG WILMINGTON DELAWARE

PFLAG IS THE EXTENDED FAMILY OF THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY. WE ARE LGBTQ+ INDIVIDUALS,
FAMILY MEMBERS AND ALLIES OF THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY.

Vision: PFLAG envisions a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are
respected, valued, and affirmed inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender
identity, and gender expression.

Mission: By meeting people where they are and collaborating with others, PFLAG
realizes its vision through: Support for families, allies and people who are
LGBTQ+; Education for ourselves and others about the unique issues and
challenges facing people who are LGBTQ+; and Advocacy in our communities to
change attitudes and create policies and laws that achieve full equality for
people who are LGBTQ+.

Support Group Meetings: We meet to provide support and information on the 2nd
Thursday of every month from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. Prior to COVID, we met at
Westminster Presbyterian Church (13th and Rodney Street/1502 West 13th Street,
Wilmington, DE 19806). But for the time being, our meetings are all being held
using the Zoom virtual meeting technology. To register for the meeting, click
here. (If you need help setting up Zoom, click here or email us at
PFLAGwilmde@att.net with a request for help and someone will get back to you.)

All are welcome, you do NOT need to be a member of our Chapter to attend our
meetings. Check out our F.A.Q. page for more information on meetings.

Key "Partner" Groups:

PTK (Parents of Trans Kids) DELAWARE. PTK offers twice-monthly support group
meetings for parents of transgender and gender-expansive children. In addition,
they provide gender identity and expression support, advocacy and education to
our community. Support group meetings are currently held virtually (Zoom). For
additional details click here.

PTK Youth Group. This informal monthly peer support and social gathering was
designed by the coordinators of PTK (Parents of Trans Kids) to provide a safe
space for youth who are transgender or gender diverse to connect, express, and
ask questions of one another and their mentor. Youth between the ages of 10-21
are welcome to attend; exceptions made when youth outside those age parameters
are interested and would benefit. Currently, meetings are held remotely and
moderated by a licensed psychotherapist and former educator. Contact
PTKDelaware@gmail.com for information about the parent group and contact
maggiedmccool@gmail.com with questions about youth meetings.

Zoom sessions held 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 - 8:15PM

LGBTQ+ "ASK" Youth Group. This group, designed for middle and high school youth,
is a support/social group that meets currently via Zoom (post COVID, meetings
will be at the Jewish Family Services (JFS) building) on the 1st and 3rd
Saturday of each month from October through May. For more information, contact
Sharon Zimmer at cztwins@hotmail.com or 302-438-1545.

WEST END NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE. West End Neighborhood House has been serving youth
and their families in northern Delaware since the late 19th century. WENH’s Life
Lines program has now committed to specifically serve the LGBTQ+ community via
their new PRIDE Program. PRIDE will not only provide supportive services and
case management to the community but also dedicates 3 beds in their housing
Program for LGBTQ+ youth. To learn more about this upcoming program and how you
can support it, click here.
