ABOUT ME

The Hive, aka: Bernie K (1990 till 1999)

Born and raised in Bloemfontein, Freestate, South Africa, EDM Producer, Bernard
Kaiser has been producing dance tracks since the age of 12. During his high
school years, he purchased numerous Casio and Yamaha keyboards, finally settling
on a Roland JX-305 Groove Synth in 1994. The Roland was a revolution at that
time. This would be the keyboard which Bernard would use not only to produce EDM
tracks but play live with at night clubs and events as well. Influences:
Adamski, ATB, Chicane, Faithless.

ARTICA (2000 TILL 2009)

In the year 2000, Bernard moved to Johannesburg. Artica was created. Sheer Music
in Sandton signed Artica up for a 3 album deal after the release of Renaissance
in the year 2002. Renaissance would be the track that put Artica on the world
map. Renaissance was played on local radio stations as well as being released on
a few dance compilation albums. Renaissance was licensed under Silver Premium
Records based in the Netherlands:

ARTIC8 (2022)

During the years 2010 till 2021, Bernard put music production on the side to
concentrate on his family business. However, recently new studio equipment has
been purchased with the aim of creating EDM hits once again. Artica is now
Artic8. Watch this space for more info, Spotify, You Tube and so on, new tracks
are on their way!
