FURALITY ONLINE XPERIENCE

Welcome to Furality Online Xperience, the world's largest virtual reality furry
convention. Happening entirely in VRChat, this weekend-long event is dedicated
to celebrating and uniting the vibrant and creative VR furry community from all
corners of the globe.

Experience the convention within highly immersive custom worlds created
exclusively for Furality Online Xperience. To participate, simply register for
the event to gain access to the FOX Portal, a unique tool that enables you to
navigate and join hundreds of dedicated instances either solo or with friends.

Common questions regarding Furality events


DO I NEED A VR HEADSET?

While we definitely recommend VR for the best experience, no VR headset is
required! All that is needed is a computer capable of running VRChat in desktop
mode. For system requirements, please visit the Steam store page for VRChat.


WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF FURALITY?

Our mission is to provide a forum for attendees to gather to experience, learn,
share, and celebrate anthropomorphic arts, including performing arts, such as
improv and musical performances, as well as visual arts, such as cartoons,
sketches, photography, 3D modeling, and digital design.

We also collect donations to the benefit of selected charitable organizations,
typically but not exclusively ones associated with animal welfare and/or
preservation.


WHEN IS THE NEXT EVENT?

Furality Umbra will take place June 6th - 9th, 2024.


HOW IS THIS GOING TO WORK?

Hosting a virtual event presents many challenges, especially on a platform such
as VRChat. Furality Online Xperience utilizes a custom software solution to
these challenges. Our convention web portal controls dynamic creation of world
instances so we can handle thousands of attendees. Registered attendees can
browse events and access our event instances via our web portal.


CAN I ATTEND USING AN OCULUS QUEST (WITHOUT PC)?

If possible, attendees wishing to use an Oculus Quest to experience Furality are
recommended to use an Oculus Link cable with a PC that meets the system
requirements of VRChat for the best experience.

When using the Oculus Quest in standalone mode attendees will be able to access
the main Furality worlds, but certain meetups or events may not take place in
Quest compatible worlds.

Furality worlds are only tested using the Oculus Quest 2. Attendees should
understand that VRChat on Oculus Quest is a different and limited experience
compared to the PC version.


DO I NEED TO REGISTER FOR THE CONVENTION TO ATTEND?

Yes. There is a significant cost associated with running this event. Namely, in
order to provide the functionality of FOX Portal and run an event at our scale,
we are required to maintain a commercial agreement with our VR platform. In
addition, we provide compensation to the members of Furality Creative for their
hard work, as well as other significant operational and infrastructure costs.

All registration fees are collected by Furality, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization. The convention is led and staffed by a dedicated team of over 200
volunteers.

VRChat is a social platform that enables users to create and share virtual
worlds, avatars, and fully-interactive experiences with other users around the
world.


NO VR HEADSET REQUIRED

You can experience Furality with a VR headset or in Desktop mode on your PC. All
you need is a computer capable of running VRChat.

VRChat is available on Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, SteamVR, and Viveport. The
platform supports cross-play between Quest, PC Desktop and PC VR.
