The Aristocats - Wikipedia. The Aristocats is a 1. American animated
musicaladventure- romantic comedy film produced by Walt Disney Productions and
released by Buena Vista Distribution. The 2. 0th Disney animated feature film,
the film is based on a story by Tom Mc. Gowan and Tom Rowe, and revolves around
a family of aristocratic cats, and how an alley cat acquaintance helps them
after a butler has kidnapped them to gain his mistress's fortune which was
intended to go to them. The film features the voices of Eva Gabor, Hermione
Baddeley, Phil Harris, Dean Clark, Sterling Holloway, Scatman Crothers, and
Roddy Maude- Roxby. In 1. 96. 2, The Aristocats began as an original script for
a two- part live- action episode for Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color
developed by writers Tom Mc.

Gowan and Tom Rowe and producer Harry Tytle. Following two years of re- writes,
Walt Disney suggested the project would be more suitable for an animated film,
and placed the project in turnaround as The Jungle Book advanced into
production. When The Jungle Book was nearly complete, Disney appointed Ken
Anderson to develop preliminary work on The Aristocats, which would mark the
last film project to be approved by Disney before his death in December 1.

The Aristocats was released on December 1. Plot. In Paris in 1. Duchess and her
three kittens, Marie, Berlioz, and Toulouse, live with retired opera diva Madame
Adelaide Bonfamille, and her English butler, Edgar. One day while preparing her
will with lawyer Georges Hautecourt, Madame declares her fortune to be left to
her cats until their deaths, and thereafter to Edgar.

Edgar hears this through a speaking tube, and plots to eliminate the cats.
Therefore, he sedates the cats by putting sleeping pills in a milk mixture
intended for them, and enters the countryside to abandon them. There, he is
ambushed by two hounds, named Napoleon and Lafayette, and the cats are stranded
in the countryside, while Madame Adelaide, Roquefort the mouse, and Frou- Frou
the horse discover their absence. In the morning, Duchess meets an alley cat
named Thomas O'Malley, who offers to guide her and the kittens to Paris. The
group briefly hitchhikes in a milk truck before being chased off by the driver.
Later, while crossing a railroad trestle, the cats narrowly avoid an oncoming
train, but Marie falls into a river and is saved by O'Malley, who in turn has to
be rescued himself by two English geese, Amelia and Abigail Gabble, who
accompany the cats to Paris.

Edgar returns to the country to retrieve his possessions from Napoleon and
Lafayette, as the only evidence that could incriminate him. Travelling across
the rooftops of the city, the cats meet O'Malley's friend Scat Cat and his
musicians, who perform the song Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat.

After the band has departed, O'Malley and Duchess converse on a nearby rooftop
while the kittens listen at a windowsill. Here, Duchess's loyalty to Madame
prompts her to decline O'Malley's proposal of marriage. Duchess and the kittens
return to Madame's mansion, but Edgar places them in a sack and prepares to ship
them to Timbuktu; whereupon they direct Roquefort to retrieve O'Malley. He does
so, and O'Malley returns to the mansion, instructing Roquefort to locate Scat
Cat and his gang. This done, the alley cats and Frou- Frou fight Edgar, while
Roquefort frees Duchess and the kittens.

The Aristocats is a 1970 American animated movie. It was produced by Walt Disney

Story development. On December 9, 1. Walt Disney suggested that Harry Tytle and
Tom Mc. Gowan find some animal stories to adapt as a two- part live- action
episode for the Wonderful World of Color television program. By New Year's 1.
96. Mc. Gowan had found several stories including a children's book about a
mother cat and her kittens set in New York City. However, Tytle felt that a
London location had added a significant element to One Hundred and One
Dalmatians and suggested setting the story of the cats in Paris.[3] Following a
rough storyline, the story became about two servants—a butler and a maid—who
were in line to inherit a fortune of an eccentric mistress after the pet cats
died and focused on their feeble and foolish attempts to eliminate the felines.

Boris Karloff and Francoise Rosay were in mind to portray the butler and the
distressed Madame. A subplot centered around a mother cat hiding her kittens to
keep them out of danger in a variety of different homes and locales around
Paris, France.

During the filming of Escapade in Florence, Mc. Gowan brought him the story that
had been written by Tom Rowe, an American writer who was living in Paris.[3].

Before his death in 1. Walt Disney contacted Phil Harris (pictured here) to
voice Thomas O'Malley.[5]By August 1. Burbank, where it was returned as
"rejected" by an unknown executive at the Disney studios. Nevertheless, Tytle
brought the script to Walt staying at the Connaught in London.

Disney approved for the draft, but recommended additional cuts which were made
by February 1. Before filming was to commence, Rowe wrote a letter to Disney
addressing his displeasure of the script revisions, in which Tytle responded to
Rowe that the changes Walt approved of would be kept. However, by summer 1.
Tytle, in a discussion with Walt, recommended to produce The Aristocats as an
animated feature.[3] For that reason, Walt temporarily shelved the project as
the animation department was occupied with The Jungle Book.[6] Meanwhile,
director Wolfgang Reitherman learned of the project and suggested it as a
follow- up project to Jungle Book.[7] Because of the production delays, Tytle
was advised to centralize his efforts on live action projects and was replaced
by Winston Hibler.[3]In 1. Disney assigned Ken Anderson to determine whether
Aristocats would be suitable for an animated feature. With occasional guidance
from Reitherman, Anderson worked from scratch and simplified the two stories
into a story that focused more on the cats.[8] Walt saw the preliminary sketches
and approved the project shortly before his death.[6] After The Jungle Book was
completed, the animation department began work on Aristocats.[8] Hibler was
eventually replaced by Reitherman,[3] who would abandon the more emotional story
of Duchess's obsession to find adopters befitting of her kittens' talents
initially favored by Walt suggesting instead the film be conceived as an
adventure comedy in the vein of One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

Furthermore, the character Elmira, the maid, who was intended to be voiced by
Elsa Lanchester, was removed from the story placing Edgar as the central villain
in order to better simplify the storyline.[7]Casting. As with The Jungle Book,
the characters were patterned on the personalities of the voice actors.[8] In 1.

Walt Disney contacted Phil Harris to improvise the script, and shortly after, he
was cast to voice Thomas O'Malley.

BULLETS OVER BROADWAY FULL MOVIE

Review: 'Bullets Over Broadway' makes up for its lack of new music with strong
choreography and acting. How seriously do you take your art?

Would you kill for it? Literally? Those are the questions that animate "Bullets
Over Broadway," Woody Allen's delicious cinematic parable about the struggle
between creative greatness and human goodness. The backstage thriller, released
in 1. Broadway. You'd think the title would have caught producers' eyes long ago
as they trolled Netflix for material. But it was Allen's sister, Letty Aronson,
who urged the filmmaker to adapt it for the stage. The musical, with a book by
Allen and direction and choreography by Susan Stroman (the dazzling talent
behind the Broadway blitz "The Producers"), ran on Broadway in 2.

the score, a collection of popular songs from around the 1. A few are well-
known standards ("Let's Misbehave"); others will be familiar to aficionados of
the era ("I Ain't Gonna Play No Second Fiddle"). One, "The Hot Dog Song," is so
heavy- handedly salacious that it would seem over- the- top even in the

back in the 1. Butterbeans & Susie). A great deal of thought clearly went into
choosing these numbers and fitting them into the story.

Glen Kelly is credited with the arrangements as well as the clever additional
lyrics that patch over narrative gaps. For a moment or two, you may even be able
to forget that you're watching a jukebox musical. But far more often you'll find
yourself evaluating how effectively each song has been recontextualized. Not
bad," you'll think. Or, "Meh."Meanwhile, the bespoke songs that might have been
written — a musical counterpoint to the book's vivid but imaginary 1. We could
rent the movie, with its witty script and memorable performances, including the
one that won Dianne Wiest an Academy Award.

So what's the point of turning "Bullets" into a musical if not to write music
for it? It wasn't meant to be, and we have to get over it and focus on the
charms of this fizzy, well- executed touring show: choreography, choreography,
choreography, costumes and performances, in roughly that order. The dances are
so various and witty, so taut and stylish, so effervescently athletic, that
they'd be as thrilling to watch (or more so) without the encumbrances of the
story.

Each character, whether gangster or chorus girl, has a pleasingly distinctive
language of movement. Although these were originated by the Broadway cast, the
touring cast members inhabit them with great verve, as they do William Ivey
Long's succulent and playful period costumes. Pretentious playwright David
Shayne (the Woody Allen stand- in, played by the likable Michael Williams) lives
in Bohemian poverty with his sweet girlfriend, Ellen, who like every girlfriend
in musicals is desperate for a wedding ring. In Hannah Rose De. Flumeri's
darling portrayal, the role eventually transcends the cliche. Producer Julian
Marx (Rick Grossman, a spark plug) is interested in doing David's new play on
Broadway but lacks funding.

Meanwhile, dimwitted chorus girl Olive Neal (Jemma Jane) has been pestering her
gangster sugar daddy, Nick Valenti (Michael Corvino), for a real acting
opportunity. Nick offers to pay for David's play if Olive can have a role in it.
Olive, of course, is terrible.

Much of the first act is devoted to exhibiting just how screechy, awkward,
charmless and lewd she is, but somehow the Australian newcomer Jane makes these
damning affectations darling. Also, she doesn't seem much worse than the rest of
the cast that Julian assembles: the melodramatic over- the- hill diva Helen
Sinclair (Emma Stratton, an actress to watch), ditsy leading man Warner Purcell
(Bradley Allan Zarr, wonderfully nimble in a succession of ever- larger fat
suits) and loopy ingenue Eden Brent (Rachel Bahler), who is overly attached to
her dog (a puppet, though it's not clear whether she knows that). Allen has an
unrivaled talent for grabbing a lame joke by the throat and beating it
relentlessly into the ground until it dies and comes back to life as an all-
powerful mega- joke that slays the audience.

Case in point: Before we meet Warner Purcell, we hear that has a weight problem.
At the first rehearsal, he looks slightly portly and is interested in food; with
each appearance, his appetite and bulk increase until he has become a human
dirigible who pulls chicken legs out of his pockets, snacks on dog biscuits and
launches into alarmingly vigorous song- and- dance numbers about lobster. No
matter how you disapprove of such a mean- spirited gag — food addiction is not
funny! I was one of the only people who found Wiest's Helen Sinclair ("Don't
speak! Don't speak!") kind of annoying, but I loved Stratton in the role, even
if she is far too young and gorgeous to play over- the- hill. Her Helen drapes
herself into languid poses across every backdrop and speaks in a voice throbbing
with emotion as she blasts David with her charms in the hope that he'll rewrite
her part. Unbeknownst to her, meanwhile, David isn't in charge of rewrites.

A murderous thug named Cheech (Jeff Brooks, who steals the show), dispatched by
Valenti to babysit oversexed Olive, makes a few well- received suggestions. Soon
Cheech is secretly restructuring the whole play and getting dangerously invested
in his work.

This Faustian bargain impels the plot to an inevitable climax that works less
well on the stage than in the film. Two obvious models for "Bullets" — "Guys and
Dolls" and "Kiss Me, Kate" — take place in musical- theater universes where
gangsters are naughty but harmless puppies. Allen's homage occupies a grimmer
landscape that allows real death by gunshot beside the Gowanus Canal. Such death
is too heavy for this airy souffle of a musical, and the tone never quite
recovers. Sorry about the body in the canal," the finale seems to be saying,
sheepishly throwing up its hands. For no reason we will now cheerfully perform,
'Yes, We Have No Bananas.' "It's a bunt, and while it brings you home, you can't
help wishing Allen and his team had swung for the fences in the bottom of the

Texas Hollywood, wie es imposant in den Hügeln zu lesen ist. Auch hier war die
Anfahrt dank guter Beschilderung und kurzer Wege denkbar einfach. Einzig die
Kilometerangaben sollte man - wie generell bei Werbeschildern in Spanien - nicht
immer allzu ernst nehmen. Einmal mehr umkurvten wir also unzählige Hügel, bis
sich vor uns eine weitere Ebene ausbreitete, auf der einsam und verlassen eine
Art Wachhäuschen stand, in der ein Cowboy in voller Montur den ganzen Tag unter
der Wüstensonne darauf wartet, ein paar Tickets verkaufen zu dürfen. Weiter ging
es durch den Staub, vorbei am großen Fort und schließlich auf das eigentliche
Western- Dorf zu.


DOLLAR STORE ONLINE

Schon aus der Ferne zu sehen ist der berühmteste Torbogen der Welt. Doch diese
Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod- Kulisse war natürlich der einzige Fake auf unserer
Tour, denn wie man bereits an der Umgebung leicht erkennt, handelt es sich bei
dem Styropor- Bogen lediglich um einen Nachbau - der allerdings seine Wirkung
nicht verfehlt.

Laut Flyer wurde allerdings auch Leones ultimativer Western hier gedreht,
ansonsten wirbt das Fort Bravo (die unterschiedlichen Bezeichnungen rühren
übrigens daher, dass die originären Namen Texas Hollywood und Mini
Hollywood häufig verwechselt wurden) kurioserweise vor allem damit, Drehort für
Filme wie Der Schuh des Manitu, dem Til Schweiger- Lucky
Luke, Patton oder Indiana Jones (beziehungsweise Indianer Jones und die letzte
Kreuzfahrt, wie es der mit derartigen Stilblüten dicht bepflanzte Prospekt
formuliert). Doch auch für Die Glorreichen Sieben, Vier Fäuste für ein
Halleluja und Zwei Glorreiche Halunken wurde hier gedreht.

Als einziges der noch erhaltenen Western- Dörfer dient das Texas Hollywood noch
heute immer wieder als Kulisse, weshalb es sich ständig verändert und der
Wiedererkennungseffekt bei älteren Filmen etwas geringer ausfällt. Auf der
anderen Seite kann keine der weiteren Locations mit der Authentizität mithalten,
die hier geboten wird. Bretterbuden, eingefallene Gebäude und eine
Weitläufigkeit, die ihresgleichen sucht, versetzten uns noch mehr als sonst
irgendwo in den Wilden Westen. An diesem Tag teilten wir uns das Gelände mit
einem bis zwei Dutzend anderen Besuchern, was bei der Größe jedoch kaum in
Gewicht fiel, da oft minutenlang keine Menschenseele auf den Straßen zu sehen
war. Bei Beginn der Western- Show wunderten wir uns selbst, wie viele Touristen
sich vor dem Saloon einfanden, um den Cowboys bei ihren Stunts zuzusehen.

Neben dieser Attraktion bietet das Texas Hollywood noch kostenlose
Kutschfahrten, Foto- Shootings, die allerdings mit denen im Mini Hollywood nicht
mithalten können, und sogar Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten in Holzhütten. Praktisch,
da vor der Kulisse des mexikanischen Dorfes auch Biker- Treffen und Konzerte
stattfinden. Wo das Western Leone mit Magie glänzt und im Mini Hollywood eine
Vielzahl an gut erkennbaren Leone- Kulissen auf den Besucher wartet, trumpft das
Texas Hollywood mit einem einzigartigen Look auf.

die es ausgemacht hat, womit es sich definitiv lohnt, alle drei zu erkunden.
Eine qualitative Reihenfolge lässt sich daher keinesfalls aufstellen. Vielmehr
ist jedes einzelne den Besuch wert und eine tolle Erfahrung.
