The St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force Coast Guard is dedicated to the protection of
life and property at sea and to protecting the maritime resources which falls
within the jurisdiction of the federation. the unit is committed to enforcing
all laws and treaties pertinent to the federation and the preservation of its
territorial integrity and the democratic way of life enjoyed by our citizens,
residents and visitors alike. this, we will accomplish with pride,
professionalism and economy of resources.

Our Vision

To ensure the federation’s long-term safety and security, through Multi- Domain
awareness
and security cooperation from internal or external aggression and to
provide Maritime
Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief.

HISTORY OF SKNDF COAST GUARD

• The SKNDF Coast Guard evolved from the days of the Customs Revenue Cutters and
Police Launch.
– Concentrated mostly on illegal imports of rum from St. Eustatius and St.
Maarten

• In the year 1985, the government acquired the Coast Guard Cutter (CGC)
Stalwart.
– Received under a Partner Nations assistance programme following the US
invasion of Grenada on 25 October 1983.
– Primary use was drug interdiction to aid US agenda on War on Drugs.
