KOSTUME KULT'S 2024 HALLOWEEN PARADE FLOAT

5:00PM , Greenwich Village - Meet @ Broome Street & 6th Ave , New York, New York

Join KK and friends for the 2024 Village Halloween Parade and our 23rd annual
dance party up 6th ave with DJ Rafael De La Cruz and the 200+ people who manage
to get to our float before 7pm. Playing off this year's Halloween Parade theme
MEOW we smile at NYC and all of you with the satisfaction of an Arts Collective
that is thriving in this complicated town -- Inviting all dancers, costumers,
hoopers and flow artists to join our rolling party up 6th avenue, while
encouraging everyone to think through all feline costumery or anything fantastic
as every year's Halloween Parade theme is really just colorful, crazy, chaos. So
come out noting that amazing costumery is a must to get on the float. Kostume
Kult presents CHESHIRE SMILE 2024 Village Halloween Parade Float Halloween Night
- Thursday, 10.31 ** Parade begins at 7pm - ARRIVE before 6PM! ** FLOAT INFO:
The Parade travels up 6th avenue from Spring Street, kicking off at 7pm but you
must get there before 6pm or have well-practiced crowd navigation skills to get
through… Latecomers will be sad and texts will be missed — PLAN EARLY, RSVP
here, DO NOT BRING BAGS and reach out to your in-the-know KK friends for parade
access passes needed if you arrive after 6pm All are welcome to dance along with
our colorful entourage while noting the precious few float spots are reserved
for the most spectacular costumers and all those who make KK happen year-around.
Take turns, jump on-jump off the float, high five the crowd and listen to the
emcee and float wranglers (or else!!). LOOK FOR THE PINK & WHITE FLOAT with the
Big Cheshire Smile 🙂 NO BAGS - LIMITED PORTO's (with long lines)... Please keep
intake low until afterpartying and only bring what you can carry. NO BAGS ON THE
FLOAT !!!! PARADE LOGISTICS: - GATHER by the float before 6pm on Broome Street
on west conrenr of 6th Ave(safest option) or, after ~6pm-7:15 at the 6th Avenue
staging position just south of Spring Street - next to the small park where the
bands gather. - PERFORMER PASSES - Needed to get through the barricades if you
arrive after 6pm. Passes not available yet but coming soon when you should DM
Marz. - ACCESS: Best to approach 6th avenue from the *WEST SIDE* and we
recommend walking up from the Canal Street subways... The Spring Street C/E
train is the closest stop - BUT the downtown side (good) is west side and the
uptown side (bad) is east side of 6th Avenue (impossible to cross 6th ave after
630 without walking all the way around) - DISPERSE: the float travels up 6th Ave
and turns left on 18th Street where we quickly break down the float -- with
walkers pushed rightward onto 17th Street (jump on the float at 16th street if
you want to stick with us!) PARADE WEBSITE http://halloween-nyc.com/ 2024 Parade
Theme: MEOW https://halloween-nyc.com/theme/ CHESHIRE SMILE: The phrase
"Grinning like a Cheshire cat" is an idiom that means to smile broadly and often
in a self-satisfied way. For example, "He just sat there, grinning like a
Cheshire cat and saying nothing". The phrase has been in print since the late
1700s. Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is perhaps the most
famous example of the phrase in use. In the book, the Cheshire Cat is a cat that
gradually vanishes from view while grinning broadly. AFTERPARTY? We do not yet
have anything planned and are wondering who has something good in Manhattan
worthy of 150 Float Freaks coming by.

+1 JUST FRIENDS HALLOWEEN PREGAME

6:00PM , Loft on 5th , New York, New York

Looking for a way to kick off Halloween? Grab a pal and join us for a festive,
costumed pregame to get you in the mood for the rest of your evening's
activities. As with all Met Through Friends events, you still have to bring a
+1, but this time the goal is to make platonic instead of romantic connection.
Make some new friends to celebrate spooky season with! Each ticket includes
admission for 2 people. Your +1 can be of any gender, orientation, or
relationship status, but they just need to be open to making new platonic
friends. You must bring a friend in order to gain admission. Met Through Friends
specializes in curated friends-of-friends events. Follow us on Instagram
@met_through_friends or join our mailing list at www.met-through-friends.com to
stay up to date. FAQs: Q: What's on the agenda? A: This will be a casual,
low-key gathering to kick off your night of Halloween festivities! Come in
costume and expect mingling and fun, spooky activities to break the ice. Q: What
if I don't have anyone to bring? A: We get it! We require +1s to ensure that
everyone has been vetted by a friend, and to encourage you to keep your eyes
open for friends you may have overlooked. Is there a college pal, coworker, or
friend-of-a-friend you might not be thinking of? Try asking around, and you
might be surprised by who wants to join you. Q: What age range is this event
for? A: This event is tailored for people in their late twenties to late
thirties. Q: What genders/orientations is this event for? A: This event is for
everyone! All genders, orientations, and relationship statuses are welcome. Q:
What is your refund policy? A: No refunds will be granted within 48 hours of the
event. You are responsible for finding your own +1, and you will be neither
refunded nor granted admission if you arrive without a +1.

SPOOKY SOUND BITES | ONE-DAY CHOIR

6:30PM , Sound Mind Center , New York, New York

No auditions. No judgment. No need for perfection. Just the joy of singing in
harmony with a room full of beautiful humans. WHAT IS A ONE-DAY CHOIR? Gaia
Music Collective's One-Day Choir series is an opportunity to sing in a choir for
one day only. A celebration of song and the connective power of singing in
harmony. An opportunity to build community, make some new friends, and raise our
powerfully diverse voices as one. No auditions. No commitment. No judgment or
need for perfection. Just the joy of creating something bigger than ourselves
with a room full of beautiful humans! For each choir, we pick a piece of music
to rehearse and sing our hearts out to. In our time together, we'll: Play some
fun singing games, warmups, & connection games Work through the piece section by
section Break down the lyrics & emotions at play in the song Shape some key
musical moments & Record some casual rehearsal videos of the piece to have for
ourselves and share with the greater Gaia community Whether you're a vocal
ensemble veteran or have never sung in a group before, you are welcome here -
all experience levels are valued in Gaia Music Collective! OUR THEME THIS TIME
AROUND For this iteration of “Sound Bites”, we’ll be celebrating Halloween!
We’re going to get in costume, sing spooky songs, and give ourselves the
opportunity to be silly, playful kids!! Speaking of which…a strong invitation to
bring kids if you want to :) Our sound bites this time around will be:
Ghostbusters by Ray Parker Jr The Adams Family Theme Song by Andrew Gold
Thriller by Michael Jackson Arranged and led by our beloved Kenter Davies, our
renditions of these classics will be chock-full of fun musical moments and
haunting harmonies that will get you in the Halloween spirit. LEARNING THE MUSIC
Sheet music and vocal recordings of each part will be available as learning
resources at least a week before the event, to accommodate multiple ways of
learning. These resources will either be included in your order confirmation or
sent out in an email! The intention is for us to come into the gathering having
already familiarized ourselves with the parts, so that we can spend our time
together really diving into the joys of connection and expression in the music
rather than simply teaching parts one by one. That being said, we’re just doing
this for ourselves, so there’s no need to stress over it (and definitely no need
to memorize it or get it “perfect”, ever)! It’s also often easier to sing in
person, when the rest of our part-buddies are singing the part with us. The
community is here to support! Our primary intention here is simply to have fun
and make some great music. (If this style of learning isn't your cup of tea, we
have other group singing events where you don't need to prepare at all! Check
out our CircleSinging gatherings and House Shows.) LED & FACILITATED BY: This
session will be facilitated by the wonderful Kenter Davies. Kenter Davies
(he/him) is a vocal arranger, music educator, and choral facilitator based in
Brooklyn, New York. He dedicates his work to creating spaces where people can
engage with music without the pressure of perfection, but full of complexity and
joy. He highlights the journey over the destination and firmly believes in
making music for music-making’s sake. Kenter facilitates One Day Choirs and Folk
Song Sings with Gaia, an organization that truly helped him find his voice. His
greatest love is helping others find their voices and having fun doing it!
RESPECT THE SPACE: Sound Mind Center is a beloved venue and we want to honor
them! Please be considerate of the space. PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY: There are
about 10 steps leading into the venue. The bathrooms are up an additional couple
of steps. 🌱 🌿 🌳 LOW-PRESSURE PARTICIPATION Gaia Music Collective events are
participatory, but low-pressure. You'll be invited to sing along and make music
with us, but we encourage you to draw your own boundaries and engage at your own
pace - we pride ourselves in creating a judgment-free community where you can
express yourself however feels right! LATE ARRIVALS We ask that you arrive no
later than 30 minutes after start time, after which we close the doors
(lovingly) in order to preserve the intimacy and trust of the musical container
we’re building. Thank you for understanding! CANCELLATION POLICY Tickets are
refundable up to 24 hours before the event, after which we are no longer able to
offer refunds. This policy helps us keep these events financially sustainable
for both our community & our team. If you RSVP but are no longer able to come,
please let us know so that we may offer your spot to someone else! We want as
many people to be able to experience these gatherings as possible, and since
capacity is limited, each spot is precious. For more info, contact us at
gaiamusiccollective@gmail.com. MEDIA CONSENT Because we want to share what we’re
up to with people who can’t join us in person, there may be photographers and
videographers present — by attending, you consent to being a part of that media,
some of which may be posted online! If you have any questions or concerns,
please email us at gaiamusiccollective@gmail.com. NO ONE TURNED AWAY FOR LACK OF
FUNDS Gaia is funded by sliding scale ticket donations, with a “no one turned
away for lack of funds” policy. It is of the utmost importance to us that these
events remain affordable and accessible - we never want money to be a barrier to
making music together. If a ticket scale is financially prohibitive to you, feel
free to donate outside of the scale at whatever amount is sustainable for you,
or to email us at gaiamusiccollective@gmail.com for volunteer opportunities or
assistance! OUR MISSION Gaia Music Collective is an NYC-based creative community
seeking to foster a more connected world through collective music-making.
Founded in June of 2021 in a living room in Brooklyn, this project was born out
of a desire to create accessible, inclusive, playful spaces for people to
explore connection, expression, healing, & release through collaborative song -
spaces where folks feel empowered to make music free of judgment or expectation,
and to make new friends as our full, beautiful, authentic selves. We believe
that communal music-making is a fundamental human practice, and this project
seeks to build spaces for folks to nurture their relationship to music, whether
they're shower singers, professional musicians, or anything in between. All are
welcome in this community. Gaia seeks to foster spaces of belonging for humans
of all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, classes, religions, abilities,
national origins, languages, and musical experiences. All we ask is that you
bring an open mind, a desire to connect, and a willingness to leave judgment of
self & others at the door.

ANCESTOR CONNECTION CIRCLE WITH LOVE

7:00PM , Liberate Yourself , Beverly Hills, California

Join psychic medium, energy and ancestral healer Love for an evening of
exploring the other side of the veil! This 2hr event will feature a bit of
learning, healing, magic, and connection all centered on the ancestors. The
first portion of this event will be an educational discussion on ways to connect
and honor your ancestors. Love will go over ways to empower yourself to begin
your own personal connections and rituals to bring you closer to your ancestors,
heal your lineage, and ask for their help to bring you blessings from the other
side. Love will share how different cultures connect to ancestors to give you
ideas for your own path. We will then partake in a ritual to tap into the
ancestral lineage of your family. In this ritual, you will be guided to speak
and connect to your ancestors who need healing most. Together you will employ a
healing practice to remove or begin to heal the ancestral wound that comes
forward in your line. Then we’ll call forward the ancestors whose wounds are
still affecting you and your line, in this lifetime, to heal yourself. (P.S.
it’s okay if you don’t know the names of your ancestors or what they look like,
you can still heal with them). Next Love will guide you in meditation to meet
your exalted ancestral team. Just like everyone has a spirit guide team, you
will meet your exalted ancestral team and receive deep healing and activations
from them. You’ll have a chance to ask them questions about your path, their
gifts, and messages they are always trying to send you, etc. We will close the
circle and end with a space for everyone to share. PLEASE NOTE: LAST MINUTE
CHANGES (SUBS & CANCELLATIONS) ARE SUBJECT TO HAPPEN. PLEASE CALL US IF YOU HAVE

DEEP DANCE HALLOWEEN - A TRANSFORMATIONAL MOVEMENT ADVENTURE

7:00PM , Soho Dance LA , Los Angeles, California

Join us for a night of spooky fun and transformative movement at Soho Dance LA.
Wear a costume or if you prefer, borrow one of our mysterious masks. A night
where Halloween meets transformative play and movement! In life, there are a
series of forks in the road - decisions we need to make - that ultimately lead
us to different outcomes. Do you ever wonder - if you’d taken a different fork -
how your life might have turned out differently? Sometimes these choices can
haunt us, and when we let our imagination follow its natural curiosity… we
envision, ‘WHO would I be today if only I had chosen THAT instead of THIS?’
Well, this is your chance to wander into the dark, wild woods of your inner
reality….to peer into the mystical void where, in a parallel timeline, you TOOK
the OTHER fork.  How is your current perspective informed by that choice you
made, and the journey it took you on? As we part the veil of reality on
Halloween, come dressed as a version of yourself in another timeline, having
taken a different turn.   What would you look like?   How would you move?
Together we’ll stir the Deep Dance cauldron of magic, gaze into the vast
unknowns of time and space, and travel far, far away into another dimension of
YOU. MUAHahahahaha!!
