Please contact the phone number (650) 424-8805 “ I always get the seafood pancake in a Korean restaurant that doesn't just serve kbbq as an indicator of how good the place is and this place killed it! The pancake was flaky, yet fluffy, and the texture was absolutely delectable. The dough was light and overall it was simply delicious. Loaded with various seafood items, it could've been a meal in itself. I also got the cold noodles and that was also delicious. The sauce for the noodles was sweet and spicy and all the fixings (egg, cucumber, beef, and radish) added to the overall refreshing experience of a good bowl of cold noodles on a hot summer day. The noodles were al dente as well and chewy as they should be. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu! ” - BENNY C. “ We visited a friend in Palo Alto and decided to dine at So GongDong Tofu's house. It has a nice review on Yelp and decided to try it. We arrived at 5 pm and the place had only a few patrons inside. The place looks clean and has several tables and chairs. We were seated right away and after checking their menu, decided to order their tofu soup and beef stone pot bibimbab. The tofu soup was very hot and you've to be careful. The tofu soup is delicious. The bowl came big and can be shared with another person The bibimbad also came in a big bowl and was sizzling hot. It has rice underneath with beef and vegetables on top. This meal is also delicious and can be shared with another person. The beef was tender and sliced thinly. The rice stays warm at the bottom. This bowl is very generous in its serving. By the time we were done, the place got busier with several patrons walking in. A go-to place if you want tofu soup in Palo Alto. ” - ED S. “ Arrived on a weekday for lunch with my colleague and the restaurant was already buzzing before noon. I was excited to see a vegetarian section of the menu that included a number of rice, noodle, and soup dishes. I ordered the udon tofu soup, which was soondooboo chiggae with udon noodles. It arrived in a piping hot stone bowl that was still boiling. It was filled with soft tofu, thick chewy udon, and zucchini in a spiced broth. I got medium spice (#3) and it was just the right level for me, and quite spicy. I also enjoyed most of the banchan, and the wait staff was kind enough to point out that high were not vegetarian (the kimchi and the tofu skin). I loved the sweet potatoes, cucumber, and glass noodles. Colleague enjoyed her vegetarian bibimbap which was served in the traditional dolsot (stone bowl). ” - SONIA N. “ It's not easy to find a great Korean tofu stew spot in the Bay Area, but out of the places we've tried, Sogongdong (SGD) is our favorite. I usually go for the dumpling tofu stew at medium spice--it's rich, flavorful, and hearty, though I wouldn't mind a few extra dumplings! My husband always orders the seafood stew, also medium spicy, and really enjoys it. We like to share an order of LA galbi, which adds the perfect sweet contrast to the savory stew. If you're craving satisfying Korean comfort food, SGD is a solid choice. Both times we visited, it was pretty busy, but they have ample seating and the service has always been good. I'd recommend as a casual date spot for good food. ” - ALICE N. “ I've been here multiple times, and have thoroughly enjoyed the food here each time. This time I got the bulgogi beef and seafood soft tofu soup, along with haemul pajun and squid ddeokkbokki. The soft tofu soup never disappoints: the tofu blends perfectly with the soup, the added egg maintains a good soft boil, and lots of seafood added in. The pajun has a nice crisp and good dough to ingredient ratio. The beef has good flavor and texture. I like the interior decoration and the service is relatively fast. Worth coming back multiple times to try each of the soups ” - MAGGIE W. “ I always get the seafood pancake in a Korean restaurant that doesn't just serve kbbq as an indicator of how good the place is and this place killed it!
