IT guy. I have 3 dogs and *will* post photos of them. I am working on making
YouTube videos, but I've also said that since 2008. Soon™

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper @pyre

Media thread for 2024! I'm hoping to finish more media this year than last year.
Plans this year are to go through my backlog a lot more, plus putting more
effort into finishing new books/games I buy.

Beat FF14 Dawntrail. Really enjoyable. Only real gripes are that it follows the
FF14 expansion formula that has been pretty set in-stone now, but with that
being said I still had a blast. Excited to move onto patch content when that
comes out.

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Watched Spy X Family: Code White on Thursday. The
movie was adorable, replete with entertaining action and great comedic moments.
I&#39;m looking forward to this releasing on blu-ray so I can pick it up and
watch it again.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/YearInReview2024"

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>I read Empire of Sand by Tasha Suri late last month.
The book was a wonderful read with delightful characters and an interesting
magic system. I enjoyed a fantasy book that was based on Indian mythology
compared to Japanese or Anglo-Saxon myths I normally see. I&#39;m definitely
going to read the sequel soon, although I lost my Kindle today. 😢 </p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Watched Encanto. It&#39;s really good! I don&#39;t
know why I hesitated on this, I highly recommend it. The song &quot;Surface
Pressure&quot; hits a bit close to home, and even before I ever watched it, I
had periods of time where I listened to the song multiple times a day.</p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Last thing I finished this year was Spy x Family
Season 2. I loved it, the final episode almost made me cry to be honest. Excited
for when the next season comes out as well as the movie.</p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is absolutely fantastic but
also impossible to recommend to someone unless they&#39;re into at least the
movie or graphic novel. The entire time I was watching it, I kept thinking about
how I love it but can never recommend it to someone casually. I hope they do
more with it but also it&#39;s wonderful as-is.</p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Also watched Belle and had a good time. It&#39;s a
cute little Beauty and the Beast story. The music was nice although the pacing
felt a little off in the songs, but I think that was due to me watching it
dubbed instead of the original Japanese.</p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>A few days old but I watched Klaus and it was an
incredible Christmas film. I went in expecting it to be kind of mid, but it was
really heartfelt with wonderful animation.</p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>For Halloween last night I watched the 1959 Dracula
film. Really fun, really cheesy, made me want to watch more Hammer Horror films.
I love charming old movies like this.</p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Finished Spider-Man 2 just now. What a fantastic
game, easily my game of the year right now. My only issues are that the game has
a lot more bugs than previous entries, and they removed some of my favorite
suits from Spider-Man 1.</p><p>Looking forward to Wolverine when it comes out
(hopefully with more polish!) and the inevitable Spider-Man 3.</p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>The Super Mario Bros Movie over. Really fun, not
exactly how I would’ve adapted it but I enjoyed it a fair bit. Big fan of the
remixes of traditional songs.</p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Just watched TMNT Mutant Mayhem. Absolute banger.
Fantastic animation, perfect soundtrack, and the most accurate portrayal of
teens in a movie I’ve seen. I hope this gets a sequel like it teases.</p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Watched Spirited Away for the first time. It&#39;s
really good, and I can see why everyone loves it. My favorite Ghibli movie is
still Kiki&#39;s Delivery Service, but I would never shoo this away if it were
on.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/YearInReview" class="mention

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>I know it&#39;s DLC but it&#39;s substantial enough
to go on this list. Finished Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways. Pretty fun, I like
the remixed areas with the grapple gun. Ada&#39;s voice actress did a better job
here than in the base game (at least I think so) but I do hope that she gets
better direction if she&#39;s going to continue.</p><p><a

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Yoshi enjoying lettuce.</p>
Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>It&#39;s 2023 and I&#39;m back in on Team Fortress
2. Sure didn&#39;t expect that.</p>
Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Never posted this here, I still can&#39;t believe
this happened.</p><p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dR8bo4IV0Wc"

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Watched Superman: The Movie finally. I can see why
this movie is loved all these years later but man it&#39;s goofy at times, and
went on a little longer than I&#39;d like. Excited to get to Superman II
though.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/YearInReview" class="mention

Matthew “Pyretech” Cooper<p>Meant to update this sooner, I finished This Is How
You Lose The Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. It is a very good
book that I initially wrote off but continued to read due to a friend&#39;s
recommendation. If you like abstract science fiction novels, I recommend reading
this.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/YearInReview" class="mention
