Anaerobic digestion is a process through which bacteria break down organic matter such as animal manure, wastewater biosolids, and food wastes—in the absence of oxygen. LEARN MORE FROM THE EPA HOW IT WORKS Manure RNG Fiber Bedding 100% of the cow manure is recycled in the anaerobic digester to produce the following products. (Renewable Natural Gas) Clean Water Potting Mixes CLEAN WATER FROM ORGANIC WASTE BC Organics will be one of the largest biorefineries in the country. This facility will produce clean water from organic waste from the local participating farms. The treatment facility specializes in filtering and treating high solids wastewaters and process streams to help reduce wastewater disposal costs, reclaim clean water for reuse, and produce valuable co-products. The facility’s water treatment system has been developed to remove pathogens that may still be present after the digestion process. By reducing the water content of manure, the volume of the manure will be reduced by about 50%.
