WHAT IS IT?

Our trade-in service is a great way to upgrade to a new mobile phone. We'll give
you value for your old phone to put towards a new phone of your choice. Plus,
it's a sustainable way to move responsibly from one phone to another, because
phones that are traded in get refurbished and resold in other markets.


HOW DOES IT WORK?

All you need to do is answer a few questions regarding the condition of the
phone you want to trade-in, and we'll provide a quote for a credit to use
towards your next phone purchase on Interest Free.

 * Receive a quote for your phone.
 * Choose your new mobile phone and we'll put the value of your trade in as the
   upfront payment.
 * Sign up or re-sign to an eligible One New Zealand Pay Monthly plan on
   Interest Free.
 * Walk away with your new phone.

Limit of one mobile phone per trade-in, valued $99.00 or higher.

WHAT DO I DO BEFORE I COME TO STORE?

 * Back up your personal data – see below for instructions.
 * Make sure you can log in your Apple iCloud / Google account. When you come
   into store, you'll be asked to delete your Apple iCloud / Google ID from your
   phone before we can trade-in your phone – this allows your phone to be used
   by the next person once we have repaired and reset it. When phones aren't
   deleted from the cloud, they become unusable.
 * Check you have a valid ID.

It's really important to back up and properly remove your data on your old phone
to ensure your privacy, safety and security.


WHAT SHOULD I BRING INTO STORE TO TRADE-IN?

 * The mobile phone you want to trade in.
 * A valid ID, such as driver licence or passport. You'll be purchasing a new
   phone on Interest Free (you'll need to be 18 years or over). We'll need your
   ID, and this will be used to credit check before we can complete the sale, so
   please make sure it is valid.
 * Trade-in reference number, if you have one (if you don't already have one, we
   will generate one in-store).

Valid ID types we accept:

 * Current NZ driver licence,
 * Current NZ or Australian passport,
 * Current overseas passport, valid visa and entry stamp (where applicable)*,
   or,
 * NZ birth certificate and two proof of address documents (e.g., bank
   statement, power bill)

*If your passport requires a visa for entry and/or stay in NZ, then your visa
must cover the Interest Free term period (i.e., 12, 24, 36 months) before
approval.

Important! If your phone screen is unusable but the phone turns on, you'll need
to bring your phones IMEI number with you. The IMEI is a 15-digit number that
identifies your phone. You may find this on the back of your phone, or on a
sticker on the box your phone came in.


WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN STORE?

We'll help you:

 * Get a quote for your old phone.
 * Check you have backed up your personal data.
 * Check your phone has been removed from your Apple iCloud / Google account.
 * Factory reset your phone from the phone menu.
 * Remove any physical SIM or SD cards from your phone.
 * Set you up with a new mobile phone on an Interest Free Payment with a Pay
   Monthly plan.


HOW TO FIND THE MODEL AND STORAGE SIZE OF A PHONE?

iPhone:

 * Go to Settings > tap on General > tap on About
 * Look for Model Name and Capacity (shown in GB)

Android:

 * Open Settings > tap on About (or System)
 * Look for Device Name
 * Go back to Settings > tap on Device Care (or Storage)
 * Look for Storage (shown in GB)


HOW DO I BACK UP MY PHONE PERSONAL DATA?

Before you come into store, you'll need to back up your personal data. Personal
data can be photos, videos, documents, contact numbers, etc. If you hand over
your phone and your data has not been backed up, you won't be able to access it
again.

MY PHONES SCREEN IS BROKEN. CAN I STILL BACK UP MY PERSONAL DATA?

SAMSUNG AND ANDROID PHONES

Often you can connect a USB hub to the phones USB port and connect this to a
keyboard, mouse and USB-HDMI adapter, to connect up to a TV screen. This will
allow you to use the phone, but this can vary a lot depending on the model (not
available in low end phones).

If your phone is already backed up, then you can restore your data on the new
phone via Google cloud (if it is enabled). You'll lose anything between the last
backup and the phone screen breaking. You can delete / sign out of your old
phone via Google cloud remotely sign out of a device via the Google cloud.

APPLE PHONES

If your phone is already backed up, then you can restore your data on the new
phone via iCloud (if it is enabled). You'll lose anything between the last
backup and the phone screen breaking. You can delete your old phone via the
cloud, assuming everything works except the screen.


HOW DO I REMOVE MY PHONE FROM MY APPLE ICLOUD OR GOOGLE ACCOUNT?

Your phone is very likely to be connected to your Apple iCloud or Google
account. It's really important you remove your phone from your cloud account so
the phone can be traded in.

I CAN'T REMOVE MY PHONE FROM MY APPLE ICLOUD OR GOOGLE ACCOUNT. WHAT DO I DO?

You can try removing your phone from your cloud account by going on to the Apple
webpage www.iCloud.com/find or Google webpage https://myaccount.google.com/. We
can assist you when you visit us in store.


I HAVE A SCREEN PROTECTOR. DO I NEED TO REMOVE THIS?

If you have a scratch, dent, or any kind of damage to your phone screen, and you
have a screen protector on, we can provide you a quote in two ways and you don't
need to remove your screen protector for this:

 * Trade-in price of a damaged screen.
 * Trade-in price of a screen not damaged.

In store, if you accept the pricing and agree for us to remove the screen
protector to confirm the condition of your phone, and therefore the value:

 * We can proceed to complete the trade-in.
 * If you decide you no longer want to trade-in, you can either take your phone
   back without a screen protector or purchase a new screen protector from our
   store.


MY PHONE DOESN'T TURN ON OR IT WON'T STAY ON. CAN I STILL TRADE IT IN?

Unfortunately, we're not accepting phones that do not turn on or stay turned on.
These phones cannot have personal data wiped and this presents a privacy concern
for our customers.


I'M STILL PAYING FOR MY PHONE ON INTEREST FREE. CAN I STILL TRADE IT IN?

You'll need to pay the full remaining balance of your Interest Free, before we
can accept your phone as a trade-in.

IS MY PERSONAL DATA SAFE AND PROTECTED AGAINST BEING RESTORED?

Follow the steps to back up your personal data before you head into store.

When you are in store, we will help you:

 * Remove any physical SIM or SD cards from your phone – these can be used in
   your new phone, or we may issue you a new SIM.
 * Factory reset your phone from the phone menu – this is done once the trade-in
   sale has completed.


WHO CAN TRADE-IN A PHONE?

Anyone 18 years and over, is able to trade-in their phone.


WHAT HAPPENS IF I INCORRECTLY ANSWER THE CONDITION QUESTIONS?

We'll check the condition of your phone in store and update the answers if any
are answered incorrectly. You’ll receive an updated quote before accepting the
trade-in.


I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE ANSWERING THE CONDITION QUESTIONS, CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?

Yes, we can help you in store. Visit a store near you and we can help check the
condition of your phone on your behalf.


WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND AFTER I TRADE-IN MY PHONE?

Please choose carefully when you trade-in your phone as we're unable to provide
your old phone back to you if you change your mind.


NETWORK GUARANTEE

If you trade-in your old phone and join on a Pay Monthly plan with a new phone
on Interest Free, and you're not fully satisfied within the first 30 days, we’ll
refund you for the trade-in phone. Guarantee Terms and Conditions apply.

HERE IS HOW TO PREP YOUR PHONE FOR TRADE-IN


TERMS & CONDITIONS

 * You must be 18 years of age or older to trade-in a mobile phone.
 * The mobile phone must belong to you, and you have the right to trade it in to
   us, with no debts owing, including existing interest free balance remaining
   or any other party having an interest in it. We will not accept mobile phones
   for trade-in which we determine to be lost, blocked, stolen or fake, and can
   reclaim any trade-in value where this arises.
 * All phones will be checked against a lost or stolen database using the
   devices IMEI number.
 * We reserve the right to inform the relevant authorities if there is any
   suspicion that there is a deliberate attempt to commit fraud.
 * You can trade-in any mobile phone, from any New Zealand network, as long as
   it's on our database and of an acceptable condition (at our discretion). If
   your used mobile phone is not listed, it cannot be traded in. However, we do
   have recycling boxes in store if you wish to recycle your phone, accessories
   or chargers instead.
 * Your mobile phone cannot be returned to you once it has been processed for a
   trade-in.
 * You must perform a factory reset and that ensure that you clear all personal
   information, Google or Apple accounts and content from the mobile phone and
   any SIM in the phone. Any SIM card, data and/or personal information
   contained on the mobile phone cannot be returned. You are responsible for
   removing all information and content from the mobile phone you trade-in.
 * We accept no responsibility in relation to the security, protection,
   confidentiality or use of any personal information which is stored on the
   mobile phone and/or SIM card that you have traded in.
 * The personal information that you have provided on the receipt will be
   disclosed to our contractors in order to process the trade-in transaction.
 * Our Privacy Policy applies to all trade-in transactions.
 * You can only trade-in one phone against a new phone on an interest free
   payment term.
 * You must complete the trade-in of your existing mobile phone through one of
   our retail stores before buying your new phone. We will complete a visual
   inspection of your phone to verify the condition and this will determine the
   value. Subject to confirmation of the condition of the phone by the visual
   inspection, we will honour the estimate until the date indicated on the quote
   provided.
 * We reserve the right to amend its estimated trade-in value if the condition
   of the phone does not reflect the answers you provided in the online trade-in
   questionnaire (at our discretion).
 * Your trade-in device must have a minimum trade-in value of $99.
 * We will not trade-in any devices that cannot be powered on.
 * The new device must be purchased Interest Free from us on an eligible Pay
   Monthly Plan. Our standard Interest Free eligibility criteria and terms
   apply.
 * The value of your trade-in phone will be applied as an upfront deposit
   towards the new device and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Any
   additional Interest Free offers will be applied over the term of your
   Interest Free Payment term.
 * A minimum remaining Interest Free Payment amount of $100 or higher is to be
   payable on the new phone over the Interest Free Payment term if no Interest
   Free discount or One Wallet discount is applied.
 * Trade-in is not able to be used for new phones purchased via pre-order.
 * Vouchers cannot be used towards an Interest Free Payment purchase.
 * Eligibility for a trade-in transaction is at all times at our sole
   discretion.
