It will help you to minimize the chance of sport injuries, like knee injuries, including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. SKILL IMPROVEMENT Our badminton club provide different skill level badminton training lesson for different badminton players. From the basic footwork, forehand clear, drop shot, net shot to rear court forehand smash, attacking clear, backhand clear, double and single position and tactic. HEALTH AND FITNESS Our badminton training lesson will also train your fitness base on your body condition. You will develop stamina, speed and reflex from our badminton training lesson and the competitive badminton game. * 1 This summer, your child can take advantage of the OBA’s Summer Badminton Camps to progress at a rapid rate. Along with our Morning Camps, we also offer an afternoon Tournament Tough group for Academy-level players. Let’s focus on the Morning Camps first. There are three different group levels for Morning Summer camp sessions: QuickStart Summer Camp for 5-8 year olds for 1.5 hours, 6-8 year olds for 3 hours Orange/Green Summer Camp for 8-11 year olds Yellow Summer Camp for 12-14 year olds And, don’t forget that our coaches make learning and playing Badminton F-U-N! OBA will hold 11 weeks of Summer Morning Camps. The morning session will run Monday through Thursday from 9:00 -12:00 AM each week and will meet rain or shine. There is also a 1.5-hour option for our youngest campers. The Afternoon session will run Monday through Friday from 1:00p-4:00p each week and will meet rain or shine. * Week 1: May 29-June 1 * Week 2: June 5-8 * Week 3: June 12-15 * Week 4: June 19-22 * Week 5: June 26-29 * Week 6: July 3-6 * Week 7: July 10-13 * Week 8: July 17-20 * Week 9: July 24-27 * Week 10: July 31 – Aug 3 * Week 11: Aug 7-10 GROUPS: QuickStart Summer Camp Group * 3-hour per day QS camp – M-Th – 9:00-12:00 ($550/week) – 6-8 year olds * 1.5-hour per day QS camp – M-Th – 9-10:30 or 10:30-12:00 ($300/week) – 5-8 year olds The QuickStart Badminton format used by the OBA gives kids the opportunity to rally a shuttle over the net and learn to play points as quickly as possible – all in a fun environment. Our coaches recognize the importance of starting kids off well, and with success. This program uses the appropriate size racquet, court, and shuttle to allow kids to do more – faster! Suggested Age: 5-8 years old. ORANGE/GREEN SUMMER CAMP GROUP * 9:00-noon, Monday – Thursday ($550/week) Players will improve their game by learning fundamental skills, practicing game situations, and improving overall movement. Players learn valuable athletic skills for Badminton and other sports using the latest techniques and international innovations. Suggested age: 8-11 years old. YELLOW SUMMER CAMP GROUP * 9:00-noon, Monday – Thursday ($550/week) Players will improve their game by learning fundamental skills, practicing game situations, and improving overall movement. Players learn valuable athletic skills for Badminton and other sports using the latest techniques and international innovations. Age: 12-14 AFTERNOON TOURNAMENT TOUGH ACADEMY GROUP * 1:00p – 4:00p, Monday-Friday ($600/week) * 1:00p – 4:00p, Single Day Drop-In ($150/day) The Tournament Tough Camp Session is open to players competing at the B levels highlighted below based on age. Tournament players will improve their game by using competitive game situations, technical training, and point play, as well as movement and flexibility training.
