The Runners
The Cryptorunners, also simply called "Runners", are highly skilled hackers.
Feared by the powerful, they infiltrate servers and tear apart security systems
known as ICE in order to access the most valuable data and dirty secrets. Learn

Punks Guild Makers Cyphers Stray Dogs
The Punks
Punks are mostly lower-class, disillusioned, angry young runners, raised in a
world of scarcity. The disparity in wealth, the lack of hope, and the overall
decay of society have led the Punks to understand one thing: this game is
rigged, the system is corrupt, and will never change. The only alternative is to
run it to the ground and build it up from there.
The Guild
The Guild is the biggest criminal organization on the planet, with chapters and
businesses all over the globe. Guild Runners are usually raised and trained
since very young to become part of the organization. In exchange for an oath of
unyielding loyalty, the Guild promises luxury and comfort to only the best of
the best.
The Makers
The Makers are Cryptorunners obsessed with creating and inventing the best
hardware and software possible and expressing their creativity through their
inventions. Makers are often self-initiated, simply drawn towards experimenting
on their own at the beginning and later on joining in with like-minded runners
in order to stimulate each other.
The Cyphers
Cyphers are Cryptorunners that are in contact, through complex encoded messages,
with beings who claim to be from a mysterious planet called Syrinx. These
runners are required to modify their bodies in order to be more efficient at
decoding the messages. Cyphers believe they are "above humankind" and will do
their best to unveil the mysteries of the Syrinx.
The Stray Dogs
Any runner that doesn't fit in with any other faction is labeled a Stray Dog,
whether they want to or not. Having no allegiance means they are more flexible
with what they are capable and willing to do, but being a jack of all trades
means that they are also masters of none. In this dog-eat-dog kind of world,
Strays share a work philosophy of always going for the juiciest contracts while
being true to their colors.

performance enhancement drugs as well as cures for traditional ailments. The
company is also the major provider of genetic enhancement treatments and
high-tech prosthetics aimed to bring everyone’s body up to its fullest
potential. These upgrades, sometimes accused of interfering with people’s bodily
autonomy, range from more efficient internal organs to neuronal implants which
allow the user to interact with the grid without the need for any peripherals.

The Karaguchi Conglomerate holds a monopoly on most of the world's food and
drinking water supply. The company engineered crops that require less water and
nutrients to grow and cultured meat without the need of devoting space to
cattle. Some speculate that the company is secretly using this technology to
make a breakthrough in human cloning. For better or worse, most of what you eat
and drink in 2112 comes from your nearby KC convenience store.

We Know What You Want
The Adonis Digital Group is the largest producer of entertainment and also the
owner of several of the world's biggest news outlets. The company owns the
patent for what they call "pleasure NFTs", consumable Non-Fungible Tokens that
can be exchanged for sensory experiences that are difficult to achieve in the
real world, such as tasting exotic or expensive food and drinks, riding
amusement park rides and even realistic sexual activities. Adonis knows what you
want, and they will give it to you, for a price.

Zebra Synthetics is the biggest developer of AIs used in cyberspace,
state-of-the-art automated androids, and the most powerful intrusion programs
and defensive ICE on the planet. It's well known that some of the world's most

also made enormous advances regarding high-tech cyber-implants that enhance the
user's physical and perceptive capabilities. If you want to have something done

defense contracts with almost every existing country. WDI's Research and

protecting them, WDI has been making a profit on it since time immemorial.

 * What's the correct way to say the project's name?
   
   It’s twenty-one twelve, like the Rush album we love.

 * What is 2112.run about?
   
   2112.run is our dystopic, futuristic representation of the universe in a
   hundred years from now, through the eyes of our 80s-90s selves.
   
    
   
   We take inspiration from the fundamental works of the Cyberpunk Genre and the
   games we grew up playing.
   
    
   
   We are building a deep, carefully thought & ever-growing IP that is impacted
   by community decisions.

 * What are Cryptorunners?
   
   They are the playable characters in our videogame (live at
   https://play.2112.run) and the key to access the entire 2112.run experience.
   
    
   
   There are only 3000 Genesis Cryptorunners, you can get yours in the secondary
   market.

 * Are there going to be two different games?
   
   No, the current playable version of the game was released as a Proof of
   Concept with some features limited by design, in order to gather feedback
   while providing rewards to early joiners.
   
    
   
   This version will receive a big update with new content (check “Patch 2.0” in
   the Roadmap section), and will be playable until the release of the Roguelike
   Card Game.
   
    
   
   Once the Roguelike Card Game (code-named: “2112.run: Into The Grid”) is
   released, the current one will be discontinued.
   
    
   
   “2112.run: Into The Grid” will be released as an MVP and, from there, it will
   be updated indefinitely with new narrative content, mechanics, cards, and
   more.

 * What is $DATA?
   
   $DATA is an ERC-20 token deployed in the Polygon Network, designed to fuel
   the entire ecosystem.
   
    
   
   It’s obtainable through playing the game and in specific community events.
   
    
   
   The value of 1 $DATA equals 1 $DATA and it is not a financial or investment
   instrument.

 * What can I do with $DATA?
   
   $DATA will be present in everything the project will offer, both in and
   outside of the game.
   
    
   
   -> In the Marketplace: to acquire NFTs, Allowlist Spots, Physical
   Collectibles, and more.
   
    
   
   -> To modify the metadata of your character: allowing you to customize it
   with traits like its own name, backstory, personality traits, and more.
   
    
   
   -> To acquire consumables and equipable items for the Roguelike Card Game
   (both NFTs and non-NFTs) to equip your Consoles and Lands.

 * What are Console and Land rootPasses?
   
   Console and Land rootPasses are ERC-1155 NFTs that act as mint passes and
   will be redeemed for the final Console and Land NFTs when each of those are
   released in the Roguelike Card Game.
   
    
   
   Each rootPass is accumulating $DATA tokens since the day of their last
   transfer. The accumulated $DATA will be aidropped to their owners when the
   final Console and Land NFTs are released in the game.
   
    
   
   The only way to acquire rootPasses is on the secondary market.
