Lessons - Horses - Polo - Social - Fun Polo, horses, and teaching is our life, we live and breathe it every day and pride ourselves in sharing that. Horses and sport is so helpful for destressing, switching off from life and getting fitter and healthier. We have a friendly bunch of people who will make sure your experience is safe and enjoyable. Previous Next SELECT LAYOUT MINNINNOOKA ACADEMY We pride ourselves on creating an environment where anyone and everyone can learn in a safe environment. We aim to understanding what each individual client wants to achieve from their polo journey and finding a fun way of teaching that. Childrens Lessons We have a full children's syllabus including horsemanship, polo tactics, riding and swing mechanics. Our children have a guided path from weekly lesson, instructional chukkas to national tournaments including SUPA (schools and universities polo association). We have a fun schedule of activities that people can sign in for including lesson, polo training, hacking. chukkas and tournaments. Not to mention our social calendar. Previous Next SELECT LAYOUT HORSES Horses are 99% of the game of polo, Minninnooka has been grown from owners Kirstie and Daniels shared love of horses. Kirstie growing up riding in Australia and Daniel working around the world as a horse trainer and polo player in countries including Argentina, Brunei, Australia and India. It has always been a part of their lives riding, training, and managing horses. Between summer and winter Minninnooka cares for around 40 horses at all different levels. We provide a wide range of services including livery, retraining, chukka rental, children’s horses and horses perfect for helping with nerves or to help up your polo. Currently working on increasing his handicap Ali competes at SUPA, junior gold cup and mix adult tournaments Owner Kirstie Otamendi HPA Qualified Coach (Level 1) Handicap: 1 Arena Handicap: 2 Ladies Handicap: 5 Kirstie’s love of horses beganand at a young age after receiving her first pony for her 2nd birthday from her grandmother. After eventing and showjumping Kirstie moved to the UK once completing a Bachelor of Commerce in 2006. After a few seasons in Argentina he moved to the UK in 2000 and has since established himself as a professional well regarded player. Daniel plays UK, India and Australia and enjoys now watching his sons follow in his footsteps. 07891970309 danielotamendi@hotmail.com Coach & Professional Player Josh Leiva Handicap 1 Arena Handicap 2 Josh started polo at 18 after finishing football at an academy level when an injury changed his career path. Josh’s parents have both always worked in polo and are both good polo players. His mum worked for many high goal teams and was even the polo manager at guards polo club. His dad has always played and managed polo horses. Josh learnt at work with his dad before getting offered a job at Minninnooka Polo. Josh has played levels from the 0 goal up to the 12 goal level and often plays for Minninnooka with both Daniel and Kirstie. Josh is enjoying learning about the organisational side of polo and managing polo horses for all players at every level.
