WELCOME TO THE CITY ACCESS PORTAL (CAP) 



West Des Moines is enhancing its software to make your experience with
development applications and building permits smoother and more efficient. The
City Access Portal (CAP) is an add-on tool to our existing Enterprise Permitting
and Licensing (EPL) system by Tyler Technologies. 


WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH CAP?

 * Apply for Permits: Easily apply for development, building and other city
   permits online. 
 * Upload Documents: Submit your drawings and documents directly through the
   portal. 
 * Streamline Reviews: Electronic plan/drawing markup (eReview) speeds up
   drawing review process. 
 * Track Progress: Monitor the status of your application and understand the
   next steps. 
 * Online Payments: Pay your fees conveniently online. 
 * Request Inspections: Submit requests for construction and occupancy
   inspections online. 
 * Approval Status: Access plan approvals and permit documentation anytime. 


GETTING STARTED 

 1. Log In or Register: To get started, click on the “Login or Register” button
    located on the top row of tools on the CAP homepage.

 2. Create Your Profile: Follow the prompts to set up your user profile. If you
    have previously submitted applications with the city, please use the same
    email to access your past records.
    
    If you are unsure whether you already have an account, start by searching
    for your contact information starting with your email. If no match is found,
    try searching by phone number, name (first or last), then company name.
