TERRI GILSTAD

Author - Editor

TERRI GILSTAD

I was a 37-year-old third-grade teacher, eleven years into my career, who
survived a major stroke when I was six and a half months pregnant with my third
child. I went on to successfully have my baby two months after I had the stroke,
make enough progress in rehab and through my hard work, which included learning
to drive again one handed and with my left foot assisting my right one, and
strengthening my vocal chords to the point of being able to speak with my
students for at least half the day. I was one of the first inclusion teachers in
my school, which allowed me to turn the teaching duties overs to my partner, act
as the assistant to my teaching partner, and spend my time to plan each and
every lesson so that the students didn’t suffer and I could do my thing to give
everyone a wonderful year in my classroom. After a career of almost 38 years of
teaching (I retired at the age of 59) in grades pre-k 4 year olds through fifth
grade, and back down again to second grade, I have had the opportunity to
continue my rehab and introduce myself to the latest trends in physical therapy,
which have helped me to better my body and elevate my communication to a level
of happily transferring this information to this book. I am hoping that it will
motivate other stroke survivors to never give up hope.

GOD’S NOT READY FOR ME YET

$14.99

God Isn’t Ready For Me Yet – a book that showcases the spiritual journey of
Terri Gilstad. She is a stroke survivor and this tragedy, in actual, restored
her faith in God. Her life story tells us that life is full of uncertainties and
miracles. You are unaware of your future however your faith in God can make
things easy for you. And this exactly happened with Terri. Being a healthy
person, she had no idea that she can be a stroke patient. However, this illness
brought positive changes in her life.

Facing many challenges physically as a stroke survivor, Terri went into a deep
depression. She stopped talking to God as she thought that He has deserted her.
But, the knowledge of Buddhism enlightened her life and she remained calm during
the entire journey of her illness.

Terri is having a happy life now as she is not only a stroke survivor but she is
learning more about the religion Buddhism and she is a part of many therapy
programs as well.
