David James Koch, nicknamed "Kochie" , is an Australian television presenter who
is best known as a host of the Seven Network's breakfast program, Sunrise. From
Adelaide, he began his media career as a financial journalist, writing for a
number of different publications before eventually moving to television. Koch
has written several practical books on family and business financial management;
he has also published a book of jokes compiled from his daily joke segment on
TV. The book was parodied in an episode of The Chaser's War on Everything where
reading jokes from "Kochie" was the only thing that got a laugh at a stand-up
comedy club. In a survey conducted by Money Management newspaper, his peers
recognised him as one of the 10 most influential people of all time in the
financial services industry.

We all have the capacity. In these days of anaemic wage growth and even more
anaemic interest rates, that’s a claim bordering on the preposterous. But
Sunrise host and personal finance guru David Koch maintains it’s achievable –
and he has a TV show to prove it.

Here's exactly what happened:

Host Matt Doran invited Koch to the show to share his tips on investing and
making money, and David James spilled the beans during the show. He thought it
was a rehearsal!

David James Koch: “Money is just numbers. And when Australians understand this,
they’ll start looking for ways to multiply them.”The greatest failing of
Australians in forming better financial habits is our failure to sit down with a
partner or spouse and talk through our goals.



Host Matt Doran: “Easy for you to say, you got lots of money. And you can invest
them in projects that are off-limits to ordinary folk. Making money when you
already have a large amount in your account is much easier.But what should we,
ordinary Joes, do, we don’t have so much free capital? So don’t go around
claiming Australians don’t know how to make money – they just have no way to.
What you are saying is cynical. For you money might just be bank account
numbers, but for others they are a means to survival and there’s never enough of
it.”

Hearing such accusations, David James Koch was outraged and accidentally
mentioned a loophole from where he currently receives most of his income.

David James Koch: “Am I the cynic!? First of all, I am a financier and a
realist! If I say that any Australian can quickly become a millionaire, then it
is indeed true. Give me $350 and I'll make $1 million in two to three months on
the platform."But Kochi's recipe for success has several ingredients: sell, earn
