NOUNS X EVERYBODY UPDATE

I miss you guys as much as you miss me.

STATED GOALS OF PROPOSAL:

● The creation of a minimum of 10 pieces of good quality, original content
before
April 30th
● A minimum of 100k cumulative organic YouTube views across all content created
in pursuit of this prize before 9 months of this proposal passing

RESULTS

1. A snapshot was taken at the end of the contest revealing 76 entered videos,
with 34 of them garnering at least 2,000 views. The total culminated views
of the videos taken during the snapshot were 174,574.
2. At the 9 month mark of the contest coming to a close the cumulative organic
YouTube views across content entered into the competition is 282,715 views.
An increase of 108,141 views over the last 8 months. A number that will
increase over time as the videos continue generating organic views.
3. This competition had entries from 57 unique creators of which 39 were new
content creators to the Nouns ecosystem.
4. Average length of video submitted to the contest was 3:24 (3 minutes and 24
seconds) with a total of over 3hrs of content created.
5. Video content ranged from: interviews, a fake wedding proposal, tutorials,
animations, educational pieces, someone getting a tattoo, and even a Nouns
motorcycle being created. I would say this accomplished the stated goal of
getting content creation of new and innovative ideas for the DAO.
6. Each video that was created explained some aspect of the DAO whether it was
the treasury, previous proposals that were funded, the cc0 aspect of the art
or how to get funded by Nouns. Creators had to learn about Nouns in order to
obtain this knowledge and create content around it.

* I tested the site, provided feedback and offered to help many times, but the
project seems to be moving nowhere,

The contest was quite successfull with the site approaching a total of 1000
traits and 68 contributing artists!

The participation and the engagement helps us validate this as an effective way
to seed the site with nounish traits.

In the coming months, we plan on doing another competition but with a different
jury. A little alpha for you propdates readers: We have SloppyPencil, TheBoneys,
Supriyo, CarlosGreta, and Joshua Fisher confirmed as our new jury!

We are keen to experiment with more decentralized competition models but have
yet to find the perfect one; that's why we prefer to focus on a proven model for
now. If you have any suggestions, get in touch!

We also want to do more to reach new artists, and we see Basepaint as a great
place to connect with crypto-savvy pixel artists.

An update from David Horvath (via 4156):

My Nouns prop is coming to an end but I plan to continue for however long it
takes. I am very pleased with the early stages of the toyetic culture component
(Nouns sofubi, pins, and plush sold out at Ginza LOFT in hours, with new
versions of the sofubi at Giant Robot and LOFT Shibuya this spring!), but the
Hollywood side may take a while.

The news cycles of 2021 made bringing Nouns to the top studios, directors and
producers, best of the best in the licensing world, the top toy companies in the
world and high end retail a piece of cake.

Everyone's eyes lit up minutes into my Nouns Studio One pitch. I wish I could
share the names of those we met with. I can say Lego loved Nouns, and the
Playmobil Nouns figure was brilliant...so close! We even had the packaging
underway.

The pain points of my prop revolved around dynamics the current industry isn't
ready for if everybody else isn't making the jump together, from CC0 and the
absence of a traditional responsible party to fear of leaping first via
mainstream news reports and the current health meter of the legacy media
industry in general.

Even with the extra layer of apprehension out there, I plan to continue studio
meetings and have a specific newly formed entity in mind, headed up by veterans
from animation we all know. My gut says Nouns will save the day and the Nike
Swoosh of Web 3 will live forever. ⌐◨-◨

I apologize for not providing updates on this proposal. Last year, I was unable
to order t-shirts on time and later became occupied with work. Additionally, I
had to live outside of Seoul, which made it challenging to connect with the
community frequently. Now that I'm back in Seoul, I plan to host one brunch and
two running events every month. In fact, I've already organized a brunch and two
running events in January!

The new date for the Nouns stamp collection campaign is in March!

I met with the t-shirt manufacturer, and we've selected colors for the Nouns
t-shirts.

There is still time remaining before submitting the t-shirt designs, so I am
exploring different styles and color palettes for the designs. Let me know if
you have any interesting t-shirt ideas.

Hello, everyone! It’s Sumiez again from The Pixel Shop. Hope everyone had an
awesome holiday season and new year! I’m here to share another Propdate for our
Nouns indie game in development. We wrapped up the first sprint to end the year
and just kicked off the second of three sprints for our proposal. Some of our
primary goals for this phase will be to implement the core game loop and begin
testing all our systems that we produced during Sprint I.

LORE

Our lore is split into the Legend and Present Day. We established a direction
for the Legend, but we are still working on the present day Nouniverse with the
Lich King’s return!

The Legend

A long, long time ago, the Nouniverse was a utopian world where everything
co-existed in peace thanks to an all-powerful artifact, the Nouns Crown. The
Nouns Crown was believed to be the source of everything in the Nouniverse and
was unique in that it was a crown without a wearer. The Nouns Crown only ever
uses it’s power to summon one Noun, every day, forever.

But an evil force awakened to pursue this power. The Lich King, a king without a
kingdom, invaded with an army of Forgotten Souls to claim the power of the Nouns
Crown and its’ kingdom. The Lich King enters into the Crown room uncontested,
and just before the Lich King is able to place the Crown on its head, a massive
burst of energy is released from the Crown sending the Lich King and it’s army
back to their shadowy realm.

This energy being released into the Nouniverse came at a high cost. The same
energy that was used to summon a new unique noun each day has transformed the
Nouniverse into a kaleidoscopic world, where the land as you know it is in a
perpetual state of change. And every day, the world reassembles itself in order
to protect the Nouns Crown, knowing that some day the Lich King will return to
fulfill it’s sole purpose to claim the power.

DESIGN

We’re excited to share that we have decided on our first Boss encounter, from
concept design to game mechanics! This will be one of our main focuses and
deliverables for this phase of the game. Our bosses are being designed with
different fight phases and boss mechanics and take place in a unique Boss
Chamber. For this particular fight, the player will have to dodge a barrage of
different attack types while reducing the boss’ health to zero. The Boss will be
equipped with deadly accurate dual revolvers, a sawed off shotgun, and skull
bombs. As you progress through the battle, new fight mechanics will be revealed
slowly increasing the difficulty. Whatever you do, make sure you don’t enrage
him or you’ll definitely be in some trouble… We’ll begin to tease our boss
design on our socials this month!

PROGRAMMING

As we have designed the concept for our Boss, this will be one of the key areas
of focus to develop in our game engine. This process will require multiple
iterations until we get it back, but we want to release the demo with a nicely
polished boss encounter as that’ll be one of the key selling points of our game.

In addition to the boss development, we’ve continued to progress through the map
generation and weapon systems. The map generation is just about finished, but
while we’re adding the final touches, we have moved forward with bringing in our
environmental art assets into Godot. This will be a relatively quick process,
then once we’re finished, we’ll focus more on level design to ensure that each
room has a fun mix of enemy waves, hazards, and obstacles to navigate. We have
also mostly finished our Weapons System, and has all of the components needed to
begin testing our first 3 weapons. The next step for this will be to bring in
the weapon art assets and test test the weapon mechanics to make sure they’re
fun. As we tune this, we’ll be able to add some extra flare through shaders and
in game FX.

ART

We have continued to progress our art assets across all areas, from weapon
animations, boss concepts, additional environmental assets, and minion
animations. For each minion, we will require animations for spawning, idle,
walking, attack, hit-frames, and death. We have worked through most of the 4
minions that our pre-production prototype had; and have 2 additional minions
that we hope to add to this demo. Our new resolution provides a much more
nostalgic appearance, and we have finished updating most assets to this
resolution, including minions. We think it’s a win/win scenario with this
approach, as it allows for much more scalability but retains the charm from
games we grew up with. Here’s a sneak peak of the updated minions in our
environment!

CONCLUSION

We’re still hard at work and will continue to post Propdates every 2 weeks!
Also, we have gathered a lot of sneak peaks of what we’ve been working on and

Hey all,

We have encountered an issue with our compensation funds stream for prop 476. We
chose 0xSplit as the recipient for our compensation fund stream. However, we
found out that with each withdrawal, the recipient needs to manually process the
transaction through the stream contract. The 0xSplit contract currently doesn't
have this feature, so our funds are stuck in the stream contract.

Thus, we are proposing two onchain proposals to solve this issue ;

1. cancel the stream > recover all the non-vested token to the DAO's treasury
2. withdraw the remaining vested token > set new stream of funding

Another proposal 'New Stream of Prop 476 (Part 2)' will follow through once
'Cancel Stream of Prop 476 (Part 1)' has been executed

We have included our learnings to avoid anyone from experiencing the same issues
again in the future. We are deeply sorry for taking your energy & commitment to
solve this issue. We appreciate each one of you, thank you <3

Two exciting updates:

* We've released and airdropped the Updaters collection to Nounish community
members who've contributed to Propdates' success thus far. We used this
unique collection, crafted by Facu, to try to incentivize more Propdates, but
it was not as successful as hoped. Nonetheless, a fun initiative.
* We have been working, and recently shared, a proposal for Propstreams, the
next evolution of Propdates. We'd appreciate any thoughts over on Farcaster:

We are working with a designer on a Propdates redesign, which hopefully can be

NOUNISHPUNK UPDATE 2.0

Exciting greetings to the vibrant Nounish community and all dedicated
Nounishpunk fans! Your unwavering support means the world to us, and we can't
thank you enough. While navigating a challenging situation with our NFT
collection being compromised, we channeled our energy and focus to address it
head-on.

Regrettably, this unexpected hurdle temporarily redirected our attention from
the game's development. The silver lining, however, is that we've successfully
overcome these challenges. We've diligently crafted new NFT Contracts, and as of
yesterday, on 1/6/2024, NFT holders have reclaimed their prized possessions.
We're thrilled to announce that we're back on track with the development of the
Nounishpunk game.

Although this setback had a significant impact, the good news is that starting
this week, we're diving into the development with even more vigor and
determination than before. Together, we'll create something extraordinary.

It’s time for the first update of 2024! Happy New Year!

We sent a Letter of Intent to the current owners and are entering into final
negotiations to take over the shop. We anticipate signing to take place shortly
and are scheduling inspections as we enter this final stage of due diligence.

While that’s happening, we’re also creating moodboards to map out the shop's
aesthetic. It’s an interesting challenge to pull inspiration from the
playfulness of Nouns' art while retaining both the coziness and minimal design
of the current space. We're narrowing in on the answers, and have met with two
designers whose portfolios might be the perfect match.

We’re continuing to think through how to make the shop a landmark location to
learn about Nouns, sparking curiosity in everyone that comes through the doors
while also aligning operations with a CC0 ethos. There’s so much fun ahead as we
get ready to embark on a rebrand that will make this community proud.

The Nouns x Pudgy Penguins high end collectible was developed, launched and sold
out on NTWRK on December 8, 2023. The launch ended up on the same weekend as the
Pudgy Penguin party at Art Basel and the collection's all time high floor price.
Perfect timing attention wise.

The delivery -- and the expected unboxing videos -- will be coming mid January
and along with that will be the final part of the prop -- the Huddle buying a
Noun! (igloo will be requested when ready!)

Happy holidays Nouns community!

OVERVIEW

Last week, after numerous feedback sessions with the art team, we finalized the
concept work on four crucial elements:

* The pet companion
* The Book of Nouns
* The main character
* The common minions that frequently appear in this world

The primary goal is to create a pet companion that is cute, energetic, slightly
selfish, and cowardly. This companion will always prioritize the book over the
main character.

Conversely, the main character will have a unique, eccentric appearance, paired
with a set of "normal" personality traits. The iconic item, Noun Goggles, is an
integral part of the main character. It serves as a recognizable brand element
and contributes to his distinctive look.

The minion creatures are signature entities in this world. Their diversity will
be vast, depending on their location and tasks.

If you are thinking - wait where did the other Nouns go? Don't worry, these are
set to make an appearence shortly after as well!"

BEHIND THE SCENES

Some of our discussions have focused on how the lore interacts with characters
and how it can be engaging for those who are not interested in reading the more
boring aspects of the lore. The main goal is to make it fun and engaging right
from the beginning. I will delve into this further once we have some lore and
world settings written down.

The concept phase is a fun, intensive, and creative process. After countless
sketches, we finally achieve our desired outcome. Here is a glimpse of our
journey, starting from the early sketches.

UPCOMING PLANS

* Lore/world building will be written down in beginning of January
* Start to build content strategy and production pipelines for 4koma manga and
short anime videos.
* The first video will be posted on January 20th, but it will be produced one
week before to have a stack of videos for consistency.
* We have started building a prototype website for Nouns fans to explore and
delve deeper into the lore. It will be launching soon in February.

PROP 450 Updates

It's been nearly two weeks since Prop 450 got the green light, and we hit the
ground running.

Our team is in ongoing talks with the current owners of the coffee shop (one of
which has been keeping tabs on the proposal through nouns.camp and delving into
the votes-with-reason), and now we're diving into the nitty-gritty – focusing on
gathering all the information necessary to seamlessly transition ownership. This
includes thorough evaluations of the lease, assets, existing liabilities, and
the transfer of licenses.

We've had interviews with a couple of potential general managers. Both
candidates are brimming with expertise and passion, not just for coffee but for
the wider onchain community too. Speaking of, we’re committed to having am
onchain payment options at the shop and are currently talking with a vendor to
make this a reality.

Creatively, we're brainstorming the shop's layout and an overarching brand that
will resonate with the city of LA. Talks are underway with a possible partner
who could handle both design and a website. Plus, we've already started playing
around with some branding explorations.

Just last night, we had dinner at the shop with one of the owners. It was a
great chance to really picture what the place could become, and we tossed around
ideas for how to weave the Nouns ethos into the shop's design, adding art and
interactive features that spark the curiosity of everyone who walks in.

We’re also exploring how to align our operations with the CC0 model, setting a
replicable standard for other coffee shops. Our goal is not to create just a
coffee shop, but a model for how to nounspill people with coffee around the
globe.

Looking ahead, we're gearing up to make the ownership transition official in the
new year, setting up all the legal and financial frameworks necessary. We're
thrilled about where this journey is taking us and will keep you in the loop as
we continue to make strides.

Hi Nouns, it’s Sumiez here with Propdate #2! We're excited share an overview of
our recent progress on the Nouns indie game, Nouns Crown! And yes, our game
title has been decided!

Gameplay:

Our design focus has been centered around the weapons system and gameplay. From
a gameplay perspective, we want these weapons to have familiar mechanics to
ensure quality of life to the player, but from a creative and art direction, we
want them to capture a Nounish personality through using every day items! Each
weapon will have a primary attack and secondary utility. The Loaf of Bread from
our teaser serves as a great example: you will throw slices in a burst as your
primary attack (think sliced-bread shurikens!), then swing the whole loaf of
bread as a melee stun ability. Most of our weapons are still in development and
testing, but we’re excited to showcase them soon once we add the art and
animation!

Also, from a technical angle, our weapon system is being designed in a modular
fashion and we are just about through developing all melee and ranged modules.
With this foundation set, we’ll be able to test out any weapon concepts that
through mixing and matching various attack styles. We’ll be able to push out a
ton of content as soon as our modular system is implemented!

Map Generation:

Another exciting update that we’re able to share is our map generation system.
Rather than putting together a static map for our demo, we decided it makes more
sense to develop a proper procedural map generator that better reflects our
game’s long term vision. Each map will generate multiple Biomes (although we’ll
only be generating a single biome for our demo); each biome will consist of a
sprawling series of Rooms; and each Room will be procedurally generated into a
variety of sizes and shapes. As of today, we developed our algorithm to assemble
a single Biome within our established parameters (basically, where do you start,
where do you end, and where are the rewards and objectives located). We’ll soon
be populating this biome with our art assets, then making design decisions to
establish the game flow as players explore a new map!

Art:

We continue to make great progress on the art front with a focus on the
Environment and Minions. We are quite excited about our revised art style which
captures a more nolstagic feeling and is just more Nounish in general. We’ve
completed our initial biome tile set, the streets, and the initial round of prop
design. Our next step will be squeezing in more Nounish personality by designing
decorations such as “store fronts” and more fun props. Then, regarding our
minions, we are going through the process of updating the enemies from our
prototype into our new art style and producing all of the key animations
required for game play (spawn, idle, run, attack, and death). Make sure to
follow The Pixel Shop on X (or Twitter) as our content pipeline is just about
read to start churning our progress!

Marketing:

Lastly, as we mentioned, we have a game title, Nouns Crown! We’re excited about
this title our main features will be a casual competitive environment where
players will compete for the best score each day to win the Nouns Crown! These
winners will be forever memorialized in our game and own that day. We’re
designing our branding around this game title now and will be sure to share it
as soon as it’s finalized!

Hi Nouns, it’s Sumiez from The Pixel Shop. We’ll be doing bi-weekly propdates
onchain to provide a high level overview on what we’ve been working on! First
off, I wanted to thank you all again granting our team the opportunity to build
our vision this Nouns indie rogue-lite game. Now, for a quick summary for what
we’ve focused on the first two weeks:

Team Kick-Off:

We had our formal team kick-off meeting after the week of Thanksgiving (even
though only 3 of 5 of us are in the US, haha). Our core team will consist of 2
game devs, 2 artists/animators, and myself as the game designer and project
manager.

Strategy:

We’ll be splitting production into 4 separate sprints, each being around 3 - 4
weeks in total. We’ve organized our sprints by priority and have just broke
ground on Sprint I. Sprint I will focus on developing the necessary Systems in
Godot 4 to build all content with. We’ll design the systems for the Player
Character, Abilities, Weapons, Upgrades, and World. Due to the nature of the
project, these systems will all be modular to provide for as much creative
flexibility when we get to developing and testing content. Additionally, we’ll
be making big game design decisions to establish the game flow and how each
feature will interact with each other!

Art Direction:

First thing first. We’re designing the standard Nouns character to use as the
template for all Nouns characters to follow. We will fine tune the art style to
make sure that it’s scalable (since we’ll have a whole lot more characters to
come); dynamic (as the combination of traits will drive each characters
playstyle; and of course, as fun as possible. This style will remain consistent
between the player character, enemy minions and bosses, and the environment. The
later 3 areas will be focuses of a subsequent sprint, but we do plan on
exploring early concepts for our first boss and some biomes that will exist in
the environment.

Marketing:

Our marketing goal will be to build a grass roots following as a true indie
development team. We’ll make some big decisions this month such as the game
title and branding, then put together a social media marketing strategy to
provide a regular pipeline of engaging content, from behind the scene looks, our
design process, game engine development, and most importantly, spreading the
meme.

Advisor:

We have one more exciting announcement to make! We have brought on Dan Fessler
as an advisor to our team. Dan’s has a wealth of creative and technical
experience in the gaming industry. He was most recently the Chief Creative
Officer at Manticore games working on a 3D user-generated content gaming
platform. Today, he’s a founder at Incite developing AI-powered games. I’ve
personally known him since I was a kid, so excited to have him on our team to
provide another great perspective to our already talented team.

We did it! Together Nouns DAO and Variety – the Children’s Charity have
delivered the largest crypto philanthropy activation ever held in Australia! On
Thursday 14 December 5,000 kids experiencing disadvantage or living with
disability and 3,000 of their carers came together for A Very Nounish Christmas
Party to experience a day of inclusion, joy and celebration supported by over
600 Nounish volunteers, staff and the Australian Nouns and web 3 community.

This year's party, decked out in Noggles and immersed in the imaginative
universe of Nouns, provided a unique and unforgettable experience for the
children and their carers.

The Variety Kids Xmas Party is more than just a day of fun; it's a lifeline for
families who often feel isolated or overlooked. For many children, the event
offers a rare opportunity to experience joy, laughter, and a sense of belonging.
Parents often remark on the transformative effect of the party, noting the boost
in their children's confidence and self-esteem. The ripple effect extends beyond
the children to their families, providing them with a much-needed respite and
the chance to see their children thrive in a supportive environment. The
memories created during the party serve as a source of strength and inspiration
for families throughout the year.

The event is completely FREE for children and their carers to attend and
importantly each child leaves with a bag overfilling with toys, often the only
gift they receive at this time of year.

Nouns DAO's funding was instrumental in enhancing the event across its 39,000
square feet.

Nouns activations were held throughout the venue including:-

* Giant Noggles and Nouns character towers in the concourse area where children
and families excitedly arrived for the party of a lifetime, entering through
a giant Noggle adorned arch (aso replicated in the entry for kids arriving by
bus)
* A Nounish stage with giant Noggles and Nouns character skirting,
flanked by Nouns character towers. The stage included all day back to
back entertainment and was a highlight for many
* Noggles adorning the giant Xmas tree and decorating the Xmas trees at the
Nouns Fun Station
* Nouns fun station with Noggle adorned archway entrance, Nouns tattoo and
Low-Fi Noggles distribution (donated by 87Bones) as well as Noggle LEGO
builds with LEGO master Ryan McNaught
* The Nouns Fun Station also included a colouring-in section with 6
stations where kids colouredin every pages of every single Noun who voted for
Prop 420
* A giant Noggles seat and foam sculpture (created by Oshi Gallery) and photo
station surrounded by Nounish Xmas trees, character towers, and character cut
outs lent to Variety from Nouns DAO'n Under
* Variety Kids Xmas Party Powered by Nouns signage throughout the venue
including interactive zones, rides, side show alley and all-ability
activities
* VIP Corporate Morning Tea and Presentation for 70 guests including an on
stage interview with Pete Lazer and Goldy about Nouns, Low Fi Noggles,
tattoos, wall signage with QR codes to learn more about Nouns DAO and special
guests from the local Web 3 community. The presentations also included a
family who were assisted by Variety to talk about the huge impact the charity
has had on their lives who then also went on to enjoy the Nounish party.
* Nouns tattoos and Powered by Nouns t-shirts with Noggles logo worn by staff
and over 600 volunteers. The volunteers were mainly through corporate groups
and were briefed on Nouns DAO including an emailed hand out and fact sheet on
the day. Many approached staff to learn more including those who had crypto
investments.
* One of the biggest hits if the day with the kids was Big Hearted Noun – a
Nouns character costume that roamed the venue and was constantly mobbed for
photos, hugs and high fives!

But what about the impact for the kids? Our inboxes are being flooded with
messages from grateful families thanks to the support of Nouns DAO. Here are
just a few of those testimonials:

“Our 10 year old son attended the annual Christmas party at the convention
centre last Thursday. We wanted to thank everyone involved including sponsors
for the most wonderful day. Our son had so many experiences he has never had,
such as the rides and was amazed that you even had vegetarian food (the cheese
toastie), catering to his vegetarian diet.

We were so overwhelmed by the very generous box of Ninjago LEGO he brought home
and is now under our Christmas tree.

For my husband and I this was very touching. My husband was made redundant 5
months ago and I am studying full time, retraining to become a teacher. We
currently have no income, but having our home we miss out on Government support.
Our two boys don't quite understand that this Christmas will be very different.
We are staying home, unable to travel to family interstate and there will be no
presents this year. Admittedly we were not sure how to explain the absence of
Santa gifts on Christmas morning. This hugely generous box of LEGO, had us both
overwhelmed with gratefulness as this can now be opened Christmas morning. Thank

and without you knowing, supporting his parents who are doing it really tough at

The purpose of Explorer Grants was to create a pipeline of new contributors to
Nouns by funding the exploration phase. We would help Nouns-pill talented
builders and guide them on their journey into crafting proposals! We ran an
intial program with 5 Explorers, each receiving 10 ETH. The flashiness of the
Prop House round ("10 ETH to Explore Nouns") gathered a lot of interest outside
of Nouns, which was great to build the initial brand.

First, Danizord.eth won the Prop House round but was funded by DCS Pod right
after winning, so he was no longer eligible to get an Explorer Grant. Here are
what the chosen grantees got up to:

* Greg - built Prop 249 (Solo Staking), built the Nouns API, and NounsList
* Drew - created valuable content about Nouns, crafted a thoughtful video and
TikToks, gained Nouns delegation from Wilson and voted with reason
consistently. Recently got funded for a Nouns Coffee Shop!!
* Jackson - created cookbook.dev/nouns, ran a workshop on how to build on Nouns
* Tigris - built many, many, hardware prototypes, and passed a successful
hardware prop, which is going great.

So 3 of the 4 active grant recipients have been involved in onchain proposals.
In that sense, I consider Explorer Grants a success!

Mistakes / Low Points:

* We had a fairly low voter turnout for the Prop House round
* One of our grantees got too busy and was not able to finish the grant, which
was cancelled and returned to the DAO
* Our follow-up prop did not succeed and was cancelled, because the DAO was not
interested in using small committees to allocate capital on behalf of the
DAO, which was a key part of the Explorers model.

I still think the Explorer Grants model is compelling for someone to run with.
The funding amount ($10,000 for two months) was quite steep but I do believe we
can afford to pay to attract top talent, which is a very scarce resource, to the
DAO.

November was packed with events, and we made sure to join in. We aimed our
efforts at activating in Portugal and Brazil, where we're already brewing. It
was an amazing opportunity to spread the CC0 culture and tell people how a beer
in the public domain was funded by a DAO - and even what a DAO is!

FARCASTER MEETUP @ ETH LISBON 🇵🇹

After kickstarting things at our launch event in Cervejaria Canil, Portugal, we
carried the momentum to the Farcaster Meetup during ETH Lisbon. There, meeting
our proposal sponsor Chris Carella, and celebrating with the purple community
over Public Good IPA was truly special.

Building on our connection with the Polygon Guild, a key web3 crew in Lisbon,

NFT.RIO 🇧🇷

True to our funding proposal's commitment to real marketing in Brazil, we rocked
it at NFT Rio. The event, held in a cultural center and open to everyone, was
the perfect spot to connect with everyone from web3 enthusiasts to those who'd
never heard of DAOs or NFTs. We gained a bunch of new fans, and our 100 limited
edition collectibles were all gone in just a few hours!

For the expansion, Against the Grain in Kentucky, US, is already onboarded,
finalizing details to brew Public Good. We're close to getting another European
brewery (TBA) excited about joining us in brewing. The sunscreen manufacturer is
also on board, with everything aligned and we're now fine-tuning packaging and
formula details.

At the beginning of the year, we're excited to attend the Prop House IRL event
in Rio, a perfect opportunity to connect and share ideas. Back at the brewery,
Narcose is on the verge of launching a new pilsener version of the Public Good

We've been pretty quiet the past 2 weeks or so, but we have a few updates we're
stoked to share with the community.

MINTBOARDS

Today we're excited to announce mintboards on uplink - a collective canvas
designed in partnership with based management - built on the shoulders of
nounsdao, base, and zora.

Mintboards allow users to onboard to online communities via cultural capital and
split protocol rewards with community treasuries along the way.

Mintboards work by allowing communities to create zora edition templates. Once a
template is created, anyone can use the template to post to the board -
abstracting onchain creation to a familiar image / gif / video upload UI.

0.000111 ETH from each mint goes to the community treasury.
0.000333 ETH from each mint goes to the creator.
0.00111 ETH from each mint goes to users who share with their referral address.

The based management team published a nice writeup of how this works and how
they plan on using the mintboard.

PROFILES

We shipped profiles, allowing users to claim protocol rewards, discover new
artists and their work, and create their player on uplink.

REDESIGNS

We redesigned various parts of the platform to include new features and improve
the UI.

Pushing NNS through one of the worst bear markets has been an experience that
alternated moments of great achievements with difficult challenges that made us
question our initial ideas and evolve some concepts.

It's been a year full of progresses and nounish experiments.

We are excited to finally have the opportunity to condense everything into a
propdate!

The end of 2022 was a period full of activity in the nouniverse and in the
market in general. New DAOs and nounish communities were popping every week with
a great auctions activity.

This completely changed in 2023.

To keep NNS relevant during the temporary market depression we tested many new
initiatives that allowed us to grow and stay on track.

NNS organically generated 120 ETH from mints which allowed our team to self fund
its operation for an additional 8 months beyond the 5 months of the previous
mandate.

NNS currently counts 1580 names and 700 holders placing itself as the 3rd
nounish project for number of holders after Lils (~2270) and Gnars (~710).

We are proud of this, especially because it shows people keep valuing NNS and
its concept of nounish identity, and are willing to pay from $100 to $1000 for
their favourite names.

We added some links that will allow you to follow our journey and discover what
happened during the last 12 months, in chronological order.

* NNS names went from a static image to an highly recognizable dynamic nounish
badge
We wanted to make NNS names different from the classic web3 domains. We
worked with @nonfungiblemotion to make 4 different NNS badges according to
the number of characters in them.

* Chrome extension that automatically resolves NNS names on Etherscan and
Opensea
Through this extension users are able to natively see any NNS on etherscan
and Opensea. This extension is also extremely flexible and allows us to add
new supported websites when needed.

* Hundreds of nounish NFTs distributed in viral initiatives through NNS Rewards
(later evolved in Social Staking)
NNS rewards were born as a way to give visibility to nounish projects through
fun and colourful illustrations. We bought hundreds of different NFTs and
distributed them to people in and outside the ecosystem.
In retrospective, NNS rewards have been a useful tool not just for creating
awareness around NNS, but also for artists and people interested in the
nouniverse.
We will probably bring them back in the coming weeks!

* Nounish Club allowed members of nounish communities to get a special NNS and
share special perks for other members.
The Nounish Club has been an NNS experiment that allowed members from nounish
communities to get a special NNS tier as a random number from 1000 to 9998.
(The number 9999 was reserved for the nounder noun 70)
Members of the Nounish Club could also share perks exclusively reserved to
the other members.
Nounish Club has been an initiative that created a big word of mouth on
Twitter, allowing new people that were out of the nouniverse to get their
nounish identity and creating connections between community members through
the concept of shared value.

* Reserved NNS for nouners (switched to manual after the forks)

All NNS numbers from 1 to 999 have been reserved to nouners and are gradually
being distributed.
Every nouner can ask the number of their nouns receiving the NNS at no cost.
We developed an automatic system to allow nouners to claim their number, but
with the uncertainty from the forks we switched the process to manual.
This initiative was made to create a commemorative badge for the first 999 nouns
allowing nouners to interact within the nouniverse with a clean number.

* NNS integrated into Guild next to other big names and into Everyname API made
external integrations easier

We've been constantly in touch with Guild to work on an integration to bring NNS
into their platform. They came up with an elegant solution that allowed NNS to
be out there right next to other famous naming protocols.
Right after, NNS has been integrated into Everyname API as well.

* NNS integrated in new projects of the ecosystem like Voter and Mogu
New nounish projects have been launched during the summer and we did our best
to integrate NNS there as well.
Wilson supported NNS on Voter and Martin on Mogu.
Working on this propdate we've noticed that Mogu is not correctly resolving
NNS names. We've DMd Martin and we'll fix the issue asap.

* NNS placed 5th in the global leaderboard of TLDs with Handshake support.
NNS has been recognised as a growing and emerging TLD in the Handshake
ecosystem placing 5th for number of registrations.
We've also been invited to speak at the Handshake yearly conference by The
Shake to talk about ⌐◨-◨ and the power of a meme.

* NOGS and the concept of proliferation token were launched to reward activity
in the nouniverse and proliferation across the world
We released Noggles (NOGS), an experimental proliferation token.
NOGS has been launched with no price, no liquidity pool and no exchange.
NOGS it's open and there are no limits to its applications, that means the
perception of NOGS can differ from person to person.
Anyway, we particulary liked the pov a nouner shared with us a few days ago:

> This social token can be considered as the ultimate fractional
> ownership of nounishness. In fact the only way you can get nogs right
> now, it's by being nounish.

NOGS has literally just started and we've just scratched the surface of many
other fascinating applications.

* NNS Rewards evolved into Social Staking as a way to automatically reward
nounish proliferation
We tested a first application of NOGS through the launch of Social Staking.
This system allows NNS users who show their .⌐◨-◨ in their X name to earn
NOGS every day as reward for their proliferation.
Social Staking is a system that will gradually support many other actions of
nounish proliferation. This can allow other projects to create special
nounish tasks that can be rewarded with NOGS.
Social Staking continues to be an important feature that gamifies
proliferation and that helped the .⌐◨-◨ to build a completely new set of
utilities from the classic web3 domains.

* NOGS has been integrated in every nounish community to reward the governance
participation of all the members
After testing NOGS as a reward for nounish proliferation we wanted to expand
this social token even more.
We permissionessly integrated NOGS into every nounish community with a
governance system.
Every time someone votes or creates a prop, they receive NOGS directly on
their Base address.
To this date, we rewarded the governance activity of 306 users with more than
1350 transactions.

* Social tipping experience is being explored thanks to noggles.network
Once all the nouniverse was beginning to be connected by NOGS, we started to
work on some ways to expand NOGS use cases through social tipping.
The idea is to make NOGS a token that can also be used to express gratitude,
excitement for a particular initiative or any onchain action.
noggles.network will be the place to do all this. The app is still in
building mode and it's been released within the NNS community for testing.
A more complete beta will be released within the end of the moth.

* Partnership with [redacted] to give the first nounish [redacted] powered by
NOGS to the nouniverse (official announcement soon)
We worked for months on a very important partnership that will bring into the
nouniverse the first nounish [redacted] powered by NOGS.
The original concept around NOGS has been greatly appreciated by many
builders in and outside the nouniverse who are actively working with us to
find new ways to integrate NOGS in their products, which will bring new
people in the nouniverse.
Partnerships like the one we will soon unveil are important because they
bring new and exceptional teams into the nouniverse, leveraging the open
access of NOGS as a way to onboard their users into the meme.

WHAT'S NEXT

It's been a very intense year that brought us at NNS Labs to get ready for a new
important chapter.
During this year, trends and ideas evolved and we don't want NNS to fall behind.

During the last months we designed a new upgrade around NNS that will transform
the protocol into an open infrastructure shared with the nouniverse.
This new NNS will allow anyone to integrate its minting system on their platform
and will also distribute 95% of its revenue across all the actors of the
protocol.

This is just a glimpse of the plan we can't wait to share with you in the coming
days.

Back in March '22 I thought the idea of a nounish lab fully focused on the
nouniverse and its communities was probably too crazy, but here we are.

I'm grateful for all the support we keep getting and I'm even more grateful to
you if you reached the end of this propdate.

NOUNISHPUNK UPDATE 1.0

Thank you, Nouns DAO, for your ongoing support! We're thrilled to share some
exciting updates on our Nounishpunk project:

We intended to submit this update a month ago, but due to Lilnouns DAO being our
sponsor, gaining access to the portal for our initial update took some time. As
a result, the information in this update represents a state that we were in
about a month ago. Since then, we have made significant progress, and our
current status is more advanced than what is reflected in this delayed update.

1- Completed the conceptualization of the HUD and its various elements.

The Health Bar and Power Bar are positioned at the bottom left of the screen,
indicating the player's health status and their available powers. On the bottom
right side, the current weapon details, including bullets and magazines, are
displayed. The mini-map is situated at the top-right corner of the screen.
Additionally, an inventory menu allows players to change their weapons during
gameplay, ensuring a dynamic and adaptable experience.

2- Implemented a captivating main menu and fully functional game settings.

The game's main menu is set within a three-dimensional environment, featuring
the hero character within the frame. This menu is complemented by unique music
and sound effects, enhancing the immersive experience right from the start.

3- Introduced a new AI class - Rider AI - for racing and chasing missions.

Nounishpunk offers various racing missions, some randomly generated at
intersections, while others form integral parts of the main storyline.
Additionally, we've integrated chasing missions where players confront diverse
challenges. For instance, some rebels might take hostages within the city,
requiring the player to chase, intercept, and neutralize the threat, ensuring
the safety of the hostages.

4- Successful NFT minting of the Nounishpunk NFT collection.

We've successfully completed the minting process and are now actively
collaborating with the independent Nounishpunk community to seamlessly integrate
NFTs for our dedicated player base. These NFTs are set to deliver unique value

5- We're bringing the entire team together at our company in Poland for better
focus on the project, and no one will be working remotely.

Our team comprises eight highly skilled game developers. By working together

Hey everyone! If you're reading this, Propdates v2 is live! You can find the new
contracts here. Major props to Onnnnion for putting these together and to Will
and David for reviewing the contracts!

Changes include:

* Admins no longer need to claim roles, transferring happens in one step.
Proposers do not need to transfer before writing their first propdate!
* We can now unlock proposals if the original proposing wallet is inactive, so
that contributors can post their updates. If you need an admin role
transfered, please let us know!
* The contracts are now upgradeable
* Various UI/UX improvements on the front-end as well, including a better way
to search proposals on the homepage and in "All Props".

Coming up next:

* Custom Propdates Nouns for proposers, designed by Facu
* Working with a designer to improve the site's overall UI/UX - my tailwind
skills can only take us so far ;)

Work is complete on Prop 337, a sprint of Nerman development.

With the launch of DAO V3 and fork functionality, these were turbulent times in
Nouns DAO. Nerman bravely sailed the waves of arbitrage, a charming beacon of
robot light shining on the DAO, providing up-to-date information about on-chain
activity and drama. A guide, a friend, helping Nouners maintain informed
opinions about the DAO and navigate the Nounish current.

passed the Nouns DAO V3 Upgrade (Prop 356). We shifted gears to focus on this.
We had to update our code to accommodate changes to old events, implement events
for all of the new functionality, and get these events into all of the major
Nouns Discord servers for the community to follow.

Forking Fork

We successfully captured the first fork related events and registered the feeds
in the major Nouns discords. With Nerman we were able to watch as Nouns were
escrowed, joined the fork, and when the actual fork was executed. We saw this
happen twice with Nouns Fork 0 and Nouns Fork 1.

Fork DAOs

We also implemented events for the newly created Fork DAOs. We primarily watched
them Rage Quit and claim their share of the fork treasury, but we also saw Fork
0 submit and pass a proposal.

Discord Forums

To deal with an increasing proposal and vote velocity we implemented a Discord
forum for DAO proposal notifications and discussions. Every new proposal is a
new thread.

Candidate Proposals

Nouns DAO V3 introduced Candidate Proposals, providing a permissionless path for
people to submit proposals to the DAO, get feedback, and find Nouner support
willing to sign and put them on-chain. We implemented all events for these
including for new proposals, proposal feedback, and proposal signatures. We
added these events to Discord and built a Discord forum to organize the feed.

Zero Votes

If a user doesn't have any Nouns or delegations they are still able to process
on-chain votes with 0 weight. Most front-ends and bots ignore these votes. We
decided to listen to 0-votes specifically and created feeds for them in multiple
discords. Our goal was to encourage people who want to participate in Nouns to
submit 0-votes in search of delegation. Since establishing these zero-vote
channels we now have regular 0-voters and zeroweight.eth has been using these
votes to dictate how their Noun votes in an "experiment in throwing weight
behind zero weight votes with reason."

Federation Governance Pool

We set up events and feeds for Federation's Nouns Gov Pool, where delegated
Nouns votes are trustlessly auctioned off. During the DAO v3 transition and
subsequent fork there were almost 60 Nouns delegated here, and Nerman helped us
pay attention to the bids and activity.

Propdates

Propdates is an on-chain project for Nouns DAO proposers to submit updates on
their proposals and eventually mark the proposal as complete. We pulled key
events into Discord for people to follow along.

NounsNymz

Nouns Nymz allows individuals to create a named identity (Nym) that has verified
Noun ownership with a zk-proof. This Nym can post on a message board of Noun
owners without revealing their ETH address. We implemented the events in
Nerman.js and sent those messages to feeds in various Discord guilds.

Lil Nouns

We implemented Lil Nouns events in Nerman.js and are working on developing a
forum for Lil Noun proposals like the Nouns DAO one, with code contributions
from lil dot. We also advised Lil Nouns in the establishment of Lil Nouncil, a
Nouncil fork that votes with delegated Lil Nouns.

SharkDAO

SharkDAO was able to automate their voting pipeline with the help of Nerman.js.
They used the "proposalCreated" event to trigger the creation of their snapshot

Data Indexing

Nerman.js now has indexing functionality, allowing users to retrieve data from
all on-chain Nouns events with a single function call. Indexed data is stored
locally and Nerman.js has instant access to all Nouns data without relying on a
separate hosted service like subgraph. Currently we're storing the data as
files, and an up-to-date version of the indexed files is included with the
library so you don't have to start indexing from scratch. Our goal is to
simplify access to on-chain Nouns data so you can focus on building compelling
things with it.

Nouns.id

We built https://nouns.id as a simple REST API to demonstrate the power of our
indexed data. Put a number after the URL like this https://nouns.id/68 and you
will receive a JSON response with relevant data for that Noun. Look at the

We have kept our projects well documented for people to understand the code and

developer map of Nouns DAO, for both on-chain and off-chain events. The page

SIGNAGE

We planned and executed a multi-faceted signage campaign, including stickers and
posters inside gondolas, at gondola stations and in 2 of the on-mountain
restaurants. All signage was designed in collaboration with Ripe (Warpcast |
𝕏/Twitter) and installed by the Rusutsu team with the help of April in Q1 2023
after our proposal's success and will continue to be displayed throughout the
upcoming Winter season into 2024.

We've already seen some organic discovery being shared on socials.

We're collecting data via QR code scans which currently lead to an onboarding
page in both Japanese and English. The QR codes are dynamic and we can change
what they link to at any time which may prove beneficial for events throughout
the upcoming season. We're collecting stats from all scans which will be
presented at the end of the proposal period.

Below you will find the designs and some photos of the signage installed to get
some idea of the scale, although it's still hard to capture without seeing in
person. We'll be making a full gallery with lots more photos and video which
will be accessible on alps.center in the future.

GONDOLA SIGNAGE

3 different designs, 60 x 16cm stickers in 247 gondolas at the heart of the
resort, connecting East and West Mountains. With an average of 9 minutes travel
time per gondola trip, a 6,000 person carrying capacity per hour, and operating
daily from 9am-4pm, these are sure to capture people's imagination while they're
at the resort.

GONDOLA STATION SIGNAGE

168 x 119cm signs at 3 gondola station lift lines, providing large format
visuals to skiers and snowboarders before riding gondolas.

RESTAURANT SIGNAGE

We had some very large prints made for 2 of the on-mountain restaurants which
represent 60% of the resort’s daytime food and beverage activity and are visited
by almost every person on the mountain.

Even though the prize program was only for three months we still have quite a
number of validators still producing blocks with the ⌐◨-◨ graffiti flag. You can

The top stats banner is showing cumulative numbers but the results of this prop
is quite impressive:

A total of 5235 blocks with the ⌐◨-◨ graffiti flag permanently etched into the
Ethereum blockchain. Also 1109 solo stakers that have took the manual action to
add the ⌐◨-◨ graffiti flag to their staking node's consensus client
configuration for this to happen. The 1109 number is the count of unique fee
recipient addresses of proposers so it doesn't overcount the case where the same
solo staker has a lot of validators (unless they set up different fee recipient
addresses for each validator for some reason, many do not for convenience's
sake).

In the coming weeks the Succinct team will come to the DAO with a proposal to
make this autonomous system run continuously with lower prize distribution
amounts (maybe 0.1 ETH x 5 winners = 0.5 ETH per month). Trustless autonomous
systems of programs that would have required trusted multisigs and manual
administration previously is very cool and I'm excited for more of Nouns'
onchain world to be powered by these types of autonomous systems.

our new Sustainable Health Missions (SHM) initiative that arised from one of our
Mucho Love activities. Our recent medical mission to the underserved community
of Mata Gorda, Baní, in the Dominican Republic, unfolded into an experience far
surpassing our expectations, reshaping our perspectives and solidifying our
resolve to make a lasting impact.

We received support from doctors at UNIBE, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard
Medical School, and Massachusetts General Hospital. This initiative was
spearheaded by Dr. Astacio, Dr. Prasad, Dr. Matos, and the Mucho Love team.

UNDERSTANDING SHM: MISSION, VISION, AND IMPACT

WHAT EXACTLY IS SHM?

Sustainable Health Missions (SHM) is a global health initiative that emerged
from a profound recognition of the need for improved healthcare delivery in the
Dominican Republic and beyond. It brings together international doctors, data
analysts, and researchers in a collaborative effort to redefine and enhance
global health practices.

MISSION:

Our mission at SHM is to develop and disseminate a replicable, low-cost, and
sustainable framework for global health missions. We are dedicated to providing
free access to quality healthcare, focusing on ensuring that our model is not
just effective, but universally accessible. Central to the SHM approach is the
mobilization of medical professionals worldwide to conduct short-term health
missions, supplemented by telemedical follow-ups. This combination ensures a
sustained impact on the health outcomes of the communities we serve, bridging
the gap between immediate care and long-term wellness.

VISION:

Our vision is a world where every community, regardless of location or economic
status, has regular access to quality healthcare. We envision creating a global
network of medical professionals committed to this cause, willing to share their
expertise across borders. By establishing a rotation system of doctors for
medical missions, we aim to ensure continuous and sustainable healthcare
delivery in areas that need it most.

OUR APPROACH:

The concept behind SHM is rooted in the belief that sustainable, low-cost
medical missions can revolutionize global health. While many doctors may not
commit to long-term stays in remote areas, many are willing to participate in

every 1-6 months, we can make a significant difference in managing these chronic

In the planning phase of our mission, the team delved deep into the workings of
Nouns, its funding model, and the potential of CC0 and on-chain technologies. A
critical challenge in public health, the issue of ownership, where entities
funding initiatives often retain all data, was addressed head-on. This paradigm
shift was unprecedented for medical professionals with over 15 years of
experience. For the first time, every detail of the project was meticulously
documented in both written form and media, concurrently. This innovative
approach sparked a global interest among doctors.

NOUNS: THE HEART OF SHM

Nouns lies at the very heart of the Sustainable Health Missions. It embodies the
logos, ethos, and pathos of our overarching goals. Our vision aligns with
transforming Nouns into a universal symbol of goodness and inspiration, driving

Nouns offers solutions to major challenges previously outlined in public health,

COMMUNITY-BASED MEDICINE

How did we achieve an exceptional 43% attendance rate in a community of 1,200
people for our medical mission, a feat almost unheard of in the medical field?
The key was in truly understanding and connecting with our community.

We gained invaluable support from the local leaders in Mata Gorda, which was
instrumental in making this happen. We quickly realized that digital flyers,
WhatsApp groups, videos, or traditional marketing methods typically used for
medical missions wouldn't be sufficient on their own. The most effective
strategy for ensuring high attendance involved direct, in-person interactions,
empowering community members, and researching local methods for disseminating
information.

Surprisingly, we discovered that 'perifoneo' was the most effective approach in

THE RIPPLE EFFECT OF SHM

Recently, Dr. Prasad made a significant impact at the 9th International Public
Health Conference in Bangladesh, where he not only presented research papers and
innovative ideas but also introduced the Sustainable Health Missions (SHM)
concept to the international community. The response was overwhelmingly
positive, with attendees expressing great enthusiasm and eagerness to learn more
about SHM – its methodology, potential for collaboration, and future prospects.

This surge of interest in SHM and Mucho Love’s medical mission marks a pivotal
moment. With interest already brewing from representatives and colleagues in 11
different countries, we’re actively exploring ways for them to engage and propel
this initiative forward.

As the global medical community's interest continues to grow, we're filled with
optimism for the future. SHM is more than just an initiative; it's a testament
to the spirit of Nouns and Mucho Love, setting a new standard in global health
and emerging as a symbol of hope and progress in healthcare.

Nouns has successfully executed its first L2 tx on Base and minted the first
batch of Nouns themed BasePaint dailys (BasePaint 98) for ~2ETH.

You can see the txs here:

* Deposit to Base Portal
* Subscription to BasePaint bot
* Mint

650+ artists will be splitting the profits from the mint of which more than 70%+
was a Nouns contribution.

Unfortunately though, we set the receiving address to the alias of the Nouns DAO
proxy instead of the executor. This means that the mints were received on a Base
address that the DAO does not control and won't be able to move the NFTs without
an upgrade. I apologize for the oversight.

The second day of Nouns x BasePaint continues today with the Fiery Chef and
finalizes tomorrow with the Nouns Wolf.

requested on the prop was well spent as I was able to work with alongcamewayne
to build nounerscout.com.

If you've only been following the prop onchain you might be asking yourself what
I am doing here. Turns out me and CoralOrca joined forces to deliver on this
prop 🤝

Short intro for those that didn't know me: I've been building in the Nouns space
for some time now, including, among others, Nomo Nouns, Nouns 101, and, that
which lead me to this project: Noundry Studio

To foster a more integrated Noundry experience I decided to work on Noundry
Gallery with Coral to build the next piece of the Noundry puzzle.

So, enough small talk, let's get to the meat of the update. Here's what me and
Orca have been cooking up:

I present to you, Noundry Gallery v2! It has now joined

Here's the list of updates:

* Introduced SIWE to make it all the more secure.

* Infinite scrolling when browsing the gallery and when trying out specific
traits.

* Streamlined trait submission flow, for all trait types (except backgrounds,
which are just plain colors)

* Trait peeking. Hover/touch the trait type icon to highlight the trait artwork
against a checkerboard background

* ENS name and avatar integration

* Open Graph metadata and thumbnails for prettier links shared on other
platforms

* Made it weirder

We've come a long way since the original proposal went to a vote, and some
things have changed:

* We got some feedback regarding the curation committee and concerns raised
around having a closed process for submitting traits for inclusion in the
DAO. We've since pivoted to an open and community-centered approach with no
gatekeeping whatsoever.
* Funds that were allocated to the curation committee have been repurposed to
contests. Using the available funds (20 ETH), we want to organize 4 contests
with different structures and learn from each of them to see what yields the
best results and generates the most participation.
* You can submit Noggles and Bodies to the gallery! The experience wouldn't be
complete without them
* Trait submissions to the DAO as candidate proposals will be open to all

CELEBRATING NOUNDRY

There's a lot of amazing traits lost in old discord servers, or that never got
to the spotlight. This is the moment to bring them back into everyone's
attention (including the contest judges! 👀)

To celebrate the next step in Noundry, and to give you some incentives to go
through the spider webs and scavenging for your old Noundry artwork we're
holding a art contest.
The judges will be no other than the latest Nouniversary trait contributors:

* @Goldypix
* @krel404
* @modrovsky
* @tummlin

Those Noundry Veterans will check every single trait submitted to the gallery up
until the deadline on December 10th (midnight PST) to award 10 notable
contributions (judged accordingly to the guidelines with 0.5ETH each. We want to
incentivize you to keep up with the awesome pixel art, and also to shine the
spotlight on the best of the best traits, which might help with the voting if
they eventually are proposed as additions to the DAO's artwork!

Speaking of which, we did not forget about the roadmap on this prop! Now that
we've laid a solid foundation to the gallery, we can move on to some exciting
new features.

Hey everyone quick update here:

1. we're now two reviews into our collaboration with The Line and have made
some pretty significant progress on story and setting. A few highlights:

a) Story is now one of co-creation, where Protocol Guild drives the
contribution, but supported by communities like Nouns.
b) We made the story work as a celebration of EIP 4844, but also standalone – so
that if we can match the timing, we can leverage the dencun upgrade.
c) We started fleshing out the world so that it's full of Ethereum inspired
characters making sure to call in important communities like OP, Base, Arb,
Zora, Farcaster, etc.

2. We officially signed the engagement contract and have transfered the first
half of the payment from our multisig to the Line

Make Droposals Great Again

Hey everyone – wanted to provide an update on the droposals builder. We've spend
the last month designing and buiding against this proposal to create simple
droposals experience through a secondary governor. The work is mostly done and
you can see it here. We've been working with Supriyo on using the Rise of Blus
episode 2 as the first drop.

However, as we approached the launch date, we grow less and less confident that
our approach of creating a secondary governor is the correct one.

Simply put – the extra work required to integrate a new contract would create
fragmented experiences across the governance clients landscape, and lead to
droposals showing up in some places, but not others – ultimately to the
detriment of the proposer and the wider nouns community.

We initially planned to solve this problem by directly updating the nouns.wtf
and agora sites, but as more and more clients emerged, we realized that it would
not be realistic to try to keep all clients updated on two sets of contracts.
The extra integration required would be too burdensome for small teams.

So this is why we've made the difficult decision to cancel the launch of our
droposals builder, helped supriyo launch his drop on the current nouns governor
(which is about the pass!), and returned the full 20 ETH to the treasury
(transaction here).

We still think Droposals are a huge opportunity for the DAO, but our original
approach was not the right one. That's why we want to return the funds on this
proposal, and mark the Proposal as complete (or really – cancelled).

We hope to return to this idea with a different approach in the future, but if
anyone else wants to take a swing at this in the meantime, please do not
hesitate to reach out to us. We're happy to share our experience and learnings
in depth.

As for next steps, we're excited to focus on the Protocol Guild Film droposal,
which is shaping up to be incredible! As that effort gets closer to launch next
year, it'll give us an opportunity to come back to the tooling opportunity too
:)

Hey everyone! Finally getting around to sending out a propdate on prop 215. It's
probably been a while since some of you have heard from us, so here's a quick
recap:

PROGRESS

We launched on October 20th with a contest of our own to remix the new platform
branding. We received some awesome submissions and officially kicked off the
Uplink era. After this contest, we shipped support for video submissions.

Shortly afterwards, Krause House and TNS jumped on the platform, each hosting a
Halloween themed contest with their own unique twists. From our perspective, the
TNS contest was a big hit and probably the most successful contest they've run
with us to date (going back to our old MVP). An animator from Rick and Morty
submitted and lived streamed his creative process on Twitch. 2 of the winners
were video submissions, giving us confidence that video is an important medium
for creators on Uplink and worth investing more brain cycles in.

Yesterday we launched integration with assets on Base L2, and later that night
Based Management came onboard with a contest of their own.

That pretty much brings us to where we are today. We're (hopefully) launching an
awesome new feature by the end of this week. Right now we're aggressively in
ship mode - taking feedback from the latest contests and designing new features
for our incumbent hosts and creators. Next week we'll spend a bit more time in
the onboarding department.

USAGE METRICS

Here are some analytics from launch to now (last 30 days). As you can see,
visitor influx is tightly coupled with contest activity. We're planning some new
features that will bring users in regardless of contest status.

WRAPPING UP

I wanted to keep this update short and sweet, but we plan on using Farcaster,
updates.wtf, and our Twitter accounts to share the latest - we haven't quite
figured out how to balance all 3 of these yet but we're getting there. Also, the
site is open for anyone to create a contest. If you're interested or have

we synced with ASK and TSP last week on this initiative and things continue to
progress, no blockers at this time. Spohn Ranch is building the skateable Noggle
Rail, Van Eggers is working on Nouns artwork for the park, and all the steel
necessary for the project has been fabricated.

We're waiting to hear back from the construction team on what their latest
timeline is for concrete and installation as their last targets were November!

THE NOUN SQUARE SEASON 2 RE-CAP

The Noun Square Onchain Media Collective is one of the most committed, effective
and Lindy teams ever funded by Nouns.

We have been making a meaningful impact on the community throughout Season 2,
via daily Spaces, regular art contests, entertaining video content and more. Our
highly engaged network of fans has produced nearly 6 Million unique content
impressions so far this year on X alone.

We have responded to Nouner feedback and leaned down our operations as much as
possible, shifting focus to the creation of more rich video content, including a
promising new weekly video podcast called Zero Rights Reserved
(YouTube)(Spotify), which has racked up over 350,000 views across our socials in
just 4 months.

We've also been trailblazers when it comes to Nouns on Ethereum L2's, onboarding
our community to Optimism, Zora Network and soon BASE through various
initiatives and educational content.

Unique among funded Nouns projects, we raised more than 20 ETH in operations
funding from non-Nouns sources so far this year, and have stretched the 6 month
mandate from Prop 226 to 9+ months.

LAST SEASON, ON THE NOUN SQUARE...

A Short List of Some Notable Things We Accomplished During Season 2:

* We have remained steadfast in our commitment to act as a reliable daily
touchpoint for the nouniverse, hosting more than 500 Noun O' Clock LIVE shows
in a row without missing a single day, accumulating almost 40,000 total
Spaces listens year-to-date and impressive overall engagement metrics from
our X Community, including an average of 20,000 impressions, 215 Likes and
112 Re-Posts PER DAY.
* After receiving Nouner feedback, we pivoted much of our team energy into
creating more pieces of engaging video content like "This Week in Nouns",
educational tutorials, and our new weekly video podcast Zero Rights Reserved.
* We scaled back our original project scope considerably by partially
sunsetting the SoapBox program and leaning down the core team to do more with
less, ultimately stretching a 6 month engagement to 9+ months. We
"open-sourced" the process and created a dedicated account for community
spaces called TNS OpenMic (more on this below).
* We have raised a total of 20+ ETH so far from outside sources towards the
funding of our operations and contests via a combination of trial sponsorship
collaborations with values-aligned groups, grants awards, and our daily NOMO
Edition mint proceeds.
* We have positioned ourselves as a vanguard of nounish activity on Ethereum
L2, educating and onboarding our community to the Optimism network via NOMO,
the Zora Network through our weekly podcast open editions, and soon the BASE
L2 with our imminent Yellow Collective launch.

1) CONTINUED CONSISTENCY AND COMMUNITY-BUILDING + SUPPORT OF NOUNS-FUNDED
PROJECTS

So far this year, we have hosted 311 consecutive Noun O' Clock LIVE X Spaces,
bringing our lifetime running total to 510 straight Spaces. If you include our
various other nounish Spaces as well, the total year-to-date jumps to 857
Spaces, which equates to 921 total hours on air, or a total of 38 full days of
broadcasting nounish content, with a total of 37,800 cumulative listeners.

On top of our daily Spaces participation, we have also seen tremendous X/Twitter
timeline engagement from TNS community on our art contests, video content and
other daily posts, with an impressive 5.9 Million impressions so far year to
date, which equates to a per-day rate of nearly 20,000 impressions, 215 Likes
and 112 Re-Posts! We've also completely organically grown our following by
almost 100% to 9100 followers, which makes us the largest nounish account by
follower count on X after @nounsdao and our friends at @nounsesports.

In addition to serving as a consistent and reliable content hub for Nouns fans,
we have also strived to be a helpful media liaison to nounish subDAOs and funded
Nouns projects, helping to coordinate and host Twitter/X events, Discord events
and more, and generally amplify their messaging to our network.

Some examples of this kind of community support:

* Supporting the "Nouns: A Movie" team by coordinating and hosting a watch
party for their Episode 1 Premiere, and amplifying their various
announcements and initiatives like their open casting call, etc.
* Supporting the Nouns AI pod by cohosting a weekly Update Call in our Discord
that was free for anyone to join and keep up to date with what that team was
building, as well as general news from the AI space. (Example archive
recording here.) We also produced this awesome video summarizing everything
Nouns AI accomplished in 2023.
* Supporting Nouns Esports by amplifying various contests and announcements,
co-hosting weekly Twitter/X Spaces, and hosting a live watch party by request
during their TI12 faceoff against GG.
* Collaborating with Nouns Agora to host a Nouns Governance Discussion most
weeks on Twitter/X Spaces with Yitong.
* Supporting Brennen's Tavern project by recently moving one day per week of
Noun O' Clock LIVE to tavern.fm. (Not a Nouns-funded project per se, but
Brennen is a Nouner and we like the duck.)
* Collaborating to support Lil Nouns DAO's The Lil Nouns Show, and producing a
feature video on their funded Lil Bevs proposal (tentative release date
January 2024.)
* Collaborating with subDAOs such as Lil Nouns DAO, Gnars, Food Nouns, Nouns
Amigos, Nouns Japan, NounsCN, Nouns BR and more to host and cohost regular
spaces for their communities.

Engaging Nounish Artists and Creatives:

Our art contests have continued to be very popular in terms of engagement, and
also continue to impress in terms of quality and quantity of output. Here are a

We constantly see new people tuning into our spaces and engaging with our
content, asking questions about Nouns, etc. in the days following an art
contest. This is part of the reason why have centred the vision of our upcoming
Yellow Collective launch around funding and empowering as many nounish artists
and creatives as possible (more below.)

Crowd-Sourced Auction Settling:

Speaking of art, one other way that TNS has contributed to the Nouns ecosystem
this season is by making a fun daily spectacle of choosing the new Noun of the
Day on Noun O' Clock LIVE.

With the help of our audience, we have settled some pretty amazing Nouns this
year, including some special ones for occasions, such as a Halloween Ghost, a
Birthday Cake for Aug 8, a Black Cat for Token 666, etc. Some of these aesthetic
Nouns have sold at auction for above-average prices, even despite the fork
dynamic. Noun 658 (Dark Factory) for example sold for 51 ETH, a full 25 ETH more
than the average Noun was going for at that time.

We also challenged ourselves earlier this year to try and mint every unminted
Noun head, and succeeded just prior to the 2nd Nouniversary. We then challenged
ourselves again to mint all the newly added heads as quickly as possible, and
succeeded in less than 2 weeks. As a result, Proposal 401 was able to award
every contributing artist an existing Noun with their own created head.

2) A FRESH FOCUS ON VIDEO CONTENT:

During the earliest months of this season, TNS was producing and facilitating an
average of 40 Twitter/X Spaces per week for various nounish communities. We
sought and received feedback from nouners and our audience, and learned that
their favorite content was moreso our educational/informative video content on
YouTube and TikTok, and so we decided as a team to shift our resources and
attention towards increasing the production of this kind of rich media content
on a more regular basis.

Since that time, we have been producing 5-8 high quality pieces of video content
per month. Here are some notable examples of rich media produced by TNS this
year:

decided to make a short video about our 100K donation to the Gitcoin Crypto

In addition to longform video content, we have also continued to leverage our
TNS TikTok Accounts to repurpose shorter versions of our videos, and
platform-native shorts. We've continued to grow our English language and
Brazilian Portuguese language accounts this year to a combined 38,500 followers,
and have received over 150,000 views on our short videos there YTD.

Year-to-date, our video content has received over 650,000 views across our
socials, with 70% of that content coming in the latter part of the Season
following our renewed emphasis on video production and distribution.

3) THE ZERO RIGHTS RESERVED PODCAST: EARLY SIGNS OF SUCCESS

Zero Rights Reserved is a weekly video podcast that we launched in June as part
of our renewed focus on creating more rich digital media. It is a podcast about
Nouns, DAOs, Ethereum, Art and more, and our goal is to interview interesting
guests from around the onchain space from a Nounish perspective, while educating
and entertaining our audience and bridging gaps to other like-minded
communities.

So far, the podcast has been getting extremely good feedback from listeners both
inside and outside the nouns community, as well as from the guests that we have
invited on:

Notable guests so far have included Jack Butcher, Deadfellaz cofounder Psych,
Supriyo from Nouns Movie, Bob Burnquist, Chris and Eric from Stoopid Buddy,
Cryptopunk Noah, Dan Romero, founder of Farcaster, and more.

ZEROPOD has also proven to be our most popular piece of recurring video content
so far, racking up over 350K impressions across TNS socials for the first 16
episodes. Podcast subscriptions and downloads are all steadily growing, and from
a human impact perspective, the initiative has been a great bridge to other
values-aligned communities such as Gitcoin, Checks/Opepen, Deadfellaz,
OnChainMonkey and more. We have started to see more and more people from these
other communities joining Noun O' Clock LIVE regularly to learn more about Nouns
after having their interest piqued by the pod!

We have also been minting each episode of ZEROPOD as a special ONCHAIN
collection on Zora using the Zora L2 network. You can check them out and mint
for free here.

Like all of our content at TNS, and as the name would imply, all Zero Rights
Reserved conetent is fully CC0, and we have started to compile a simple
repository of both raw and edited footage that anyone is free to use however
they see fit. You can view the repository here.

We believe ZEROPOD has the potential to become our co-flaship production
alongside Noun O' Clock LIVE. The former bringing in nouns-curious eyeballs from
all over the web 3 space, while the latter acts as an effective sieve to catch
artists and creatives and help them find ways to contribute meaningfully to the
community.

4) A NOTE ABOUT TEAM ADAPTABILITY

As mentioned previously, in the early part of this year, TNS was managing and
facilitating up to 40 Twitter Spaces per week for communities such as Gnars, Lil
Nouns, Unouns, Nouns Amigos, and more via our SoapBox Program.

While we do maintain that the SoapBox program was impactful for
community-building, and was certainly appreciated in many corners of the
nouniverse, it also demanded a lot of labor to maintain in terms of scheduling,
administration, social media messaging, hosting and coordination. As we started
to receive feedback from Nouns DAO members that they did not feel SoapBox should
be a primary focus for TNS, we made the difficult decision to mostly wind it
down.

So as not to leave our communities in the lurch, we did the social media
equivalent of making SoapBox "open source": We built a new affiliated X account
called TNS OpenMic, where any nounsfolk could apply to host a show about any
nounish community or topic of their choosing. We will still amplify where
possible, but without the previous commitment of in-house scheduling, hosting,
messaging etc. Our new vision for OpenMic is that it can act as a kind of Public
Access Channel for Nouns, where anyone can show up and spin up a Space with a
built-in potential audience and iterate their concept.

As a result of these and other changes to our day-to-day operations, we have
been able to stretch our previous mandate of 6 months from prop 226 to 9+
months.

5) PROMISING PROGRESS ON SELF-FUNDING & ALTERNATIVE FUNDING SOURCES

One of our primary goals in Season 2 was to explore alternate sources of funding
to become more self-sufficient as an organization, and we have explored this
priority from three main angles: 1) Sponsorship collaborations, 2) Grants from
other sources, and 3) Crypto Native revenue generation.

On item 1, we were able to negotiate 4 collaborations with values-aligned
organizations plus a one-off video commission, for a total ETH value of 5.5 ETH.
Thank you to Dawn Wallet, Gnars DAO and OnChainMonkey for being open to
collaboration. We have open discussions with various other organizations and
protocols as well for future month-long content sponsorship collaborations.

Secondly, we were extremely grateful to be awarded a Gitcoin Public Goods grant
of 2.5 ETH for outstanding work in Web 3 Education and Onboarding, and a 5 ETH
grant from Builder DAO to seed the imminently launching Yellow Collective
treasury with funds to be used for nounish art contests and content commissions.

And finally, we have brought in a total of 9.14 ETH YTD from our NOMO Nouns
Daily Edition mints over the course of Season 2. We have also been iterating and
evolving the NOMO collection and experience to make it more accessible for our
audience. This summer, we migrated the collection to the Optimism L2 to solve
the problem of a $7 daily mint that was costing $50 in gas on mainnet. Recently,
we also made the decision to lower the mint cost from ~$7 to ~$1 to again
encourage more broad participation from our community on a daily basis.

With these four sources combined, we have so far raised 22.14 ETH in outside
revenue and grants, and we hope to double this amount in Season 3.

One way that we will do that is with the launch of The Yellow Collective, a new
TNS onchain club that will be deployed this month as a daily nounish auction on
the BASE L2 using Nouns Builder.

6) NOUNS ON THE OP STACK

We noticed an interesting problem when talking to our community: Many wanted to
"Enjoy Ethereum", but they were fed up with paying high gas fees to do so. We
decided to make it part of our mandate to teach our 50,000+ followers across
socials about the benefits of using OP Stack chains, and show them exactly how
to do it.

First, we migrated our daily edition collection "NOMO Nouns" from mainnet to OP,
and produced some helpful tutorials on how to bridge ETH. Next, we started
minting our Zero Rights Reserved podcasts as FREE mint collectibles on Zora L2
(shout out Jacob for helping us with this rollout.)

Finally, we are launching a "DAO" (onchain collective) on BASE L2 using Nouns
Builder this month, called The Yellow Collective. You can learn more about our
plans for this, and the BASE-deployed "Collective Nouns" daily auctions in our
announcement thread here.

This diagram helps to illustrate our three-pronged strategy for educating the
Nouns community about the OP Stack, and the importance of Ethereum L2s:

One of our core ideals is to help create a safe and accesible place for people
from all over the world to be able to Enjoy Nouns, and we are excited to
leverage these L2 initiatives to do just that.

But most of all, we're just excited for these Collective Nouns auctions to
start... I mean, just look at these community-drawn traits that won our recent
Prop House competition!

As part of the Propdates 2.0 prop, we allocated 5 ETH to give to the first 100
props to be updated, as additional incentives. Doing some math now, we already
would be allocating half of that to people who have posted already, which feels
wrong. As folks like Yitong have pointed out, maybe something more social /
Nouns-native would make more sense instead.

If we used the budget to commission a Gardener-style NFT for Updaters, would
people be okay with that? Might be split up by month or something like that.
We'd return the rest of the unused funds.

Cheers, everyone! Great progress since our proposal passed: We're in the media
spotlight with mentions on All Beers, Blocknews and Livecoins, and we've
received 114 reviews (here and here) on Untappd. Just 2 days after the proposal
passed, we bootstrapped the production and the launch event for Public Good Beer
in Lisbon. The event at Cervejaria Canil, in partnership with Polygon Guild,
welcomed more than 70 attendees, and it was amazing! Another event with Polygon
is confirmed for November 9th. Now, we're preparing for the Farcaster Meetup on
November 4th, with more than 100 confirmed attendees.

In Brazil, NFT.Rio is just around the corner, and we can't wait to show what
we've got. Our partnership with gotas.social is integrating tokens into our
events and engaging our fans, and we're also planning with a new product
manufacturer in Brazil to expand our production. More updates soon—the momentum

Prop currently stands at 102 votes for and 11 against with a few hours left so
it looks like the prop will be passing. Thank you everyone for the vote of
confidence to run this experiment.

I'd like to address some concerns / feedback provided in the vwrs:

* Ideally, new nouners would be able to select their own Nouns from the
treasury but we don't yet have that tooling. If the experiment is successful,
it would make sense to double down on this direction. For now, the tools
available are more than enough to get started.
* Guaranteeing that a new nouner doesn't immediately sell their Noun or go
absent is not possible but it is true that their reputation is on the line as
these rounds aim to drive a lot of attention. Similar to the point above, if
the experiment is successful, we could explore new tooling as a way to make
sure the new nouners get a good feel for playing Nouns by using requiring
some criteria for getting full ownership of the Noun.
* The metrics I will follow to determine success or failure will be vwrs + new
props by new Nouners.
* This is not a way to retroactively reward people for past contributions. This
is an attempt to grow the network.

onnnnnnnnnion (I never know how many n's there are) and I just met to discuss
our first steps for Propdates 2.0. The first step is to migrate the contracts to
be upgradable, enabling faster future contract-level improvements. We'll also be
adding a "Super Admin", which will be an address controlled by a multi-sig that
can transfer admin privileges in case a proposer is having a hard time (or
simply can't) transfer the role to a wallet that can regularly post updates. For
example if the initial proposer is no longer active in Nouns, or is controlled
by a wallet that is no longer accessible, this will allow Proposals to be
recoverable.

On the front-end side, I'll be working on creating a better markdown editor in
the app, as well as various UX improvements! See you in the next propdate!

Just had our first meeting with The Line post proposal execution. We went over
the feedback we've gotten so far on the story, and talked through timelines and
check in cadence.

We aligned on three adjustments to the script:

1. Ensuring that Nouns plays an important supportive role in the story. (This
was always the plan, but was not clear enough in the script draft)
2. Reframing the Protocol Guild from Heroes to Stewards, which feels more in
line with their lived experience.
3. Ensuring that we tell a story that could work as a celebration of EIP-4844,
should the timings align, but also one that stands on its own should the
timing not work.

As for next steps, we'll be reviewing the contract, signing, and releasing the
first milestone payment upon alignment on the final details there.

UPDATE – OCTOBER 24, 2023

Hi hi! The NOUNS–HALO KEYCHAIN circuit board is now in production!

x700 units are in the process of being manufactured – we're just rounding the
final components from suppliers and I will receive the first 5 samples in
approximately 20-25 days. Once I've cleared the samples, then the remaining
units should be all made within 2 weeks!

A little refresher in re to the quantity:

* 600 units will be distributed:
* 500 available for purchase
* 50 supplied to the DAO
* 50 for gifting, raffles, etc. – marketing purposes
* an extra 100 units are manufactured for quality check and any additional
quantities that pass it will be available for purchase

ENCLOSURE

The enclosure is nearly complete, I'm waiting for the battery samples to arrive
in order to make sure it all fits in. In the meantime, I'm testing the material
and options for the clear resin and its opacity levels.

I've also sourced manufacturers to produce the enclosures using injection
moulding so that will be all ready to go soon!

FIRMWARE

The code has been finalized and tested, everything is working perfectly! I've
uploaded it on github in the meantime, but it will be available on the website

🔥 The Burn: audit funding

TLDR: we're exploring additional protocol changes to better curb auction arb.

The burn code has recently been reviewed by soli, and the fixes won't take long.
However, that's not our main focus these days.

The burn works in cycles that provide predictability, e.g. we can decide to burn
every 100 Nouns. At the same time roughly 30 Nouns are required to initiate a
fork given current adjusted supply and fork threshold. Assuming such parameters,
arbers can safely perform up to 3 rounds of forking without being impacted by
the burn. And after a burn occurs, they can continue to do so until the next
burn and so on.

A naive reaction to this problem is to configure fork threshold and burn cycle
such that we burn before there's a fork, e.g. raise fork threshold to require
just over 60 Nouns, and set the burn cycle at 60 Nouns, and there you have it.

While this is certainly a possibility, there is a natural tension:

* We want to keep for threshold low, for multiple reasons such as wanting the
fork to truly serve minority protection
* We want the burn cycle to be longer, to give the community sufficient time to
coordinate funding

We are therefore exploring other designs, such as:

* Requiring a minimum age for a Noun to be allowed to escrow towards a fork
* Initiating a burn before any fork

Since such ideas have the potential to impact the burn design, we think it best
to reach a decision before declaring the burn code to be final and submitting it
for an audit. It might also be best to expand the audit scope to include
whichever idea we land on, as they seem highly entangled, working together with
the burn to achieve the arb mitigation we're aiming for.

Important to restate: we want to significantly curb arb such that auctions are
once again onboarding new long term Nouns players.

What's next:

* We will publish a blog post detailing our thinking, and share it with the
community.
* We will ask for feedback and help making a decision.
* We will then share an updated scope and timeline.

Roko is:
• A Discord Bot that records all messages & notes any question. If previously
answered, Roko makes a thread & shares. Otherwise notes
• One of the first GPT powered Knowledge Graph creators; turning proposals into
a brain
• A tool to take conversations from discord & the context from those proposals
to automatically create an auto-updating wiki that can store decisions, updates,
questions, & more for any proposal automatically

This was an ambitious goal and I’m so proud of what we built, I think it’s a
GREAT tool with a lot of potential that’s groundbreaking in many ways BUT I
failed to spend enough time talking to our customers, nouners.

If I had, I would have realized that it was more important to build a tool that
spread that info all over the place instead of storing it in one. This was one
of my biggest mistakes. That’s one thing I think many misunderstand about
@nounsdao, not only do you need to be building something cool; you need to
already have the audience to make sure enough people care that others buy in.

NounsAI?

NounsAI.wtf is:

• An AI powered picture, video, and audio creation tool
• For pictures uses custom diffusion model to create high fidelity Nounish art
and to make it a breeze to edit + restyle
• Our audio-hub is a unique node-based interface creators love, it turns words
to grooves and makes it easy to break down a song into individual tracks, drums,
strings,
• Video ties it all together, letting you take an audio track, arrange images
like a slideshow on the timeline, and then let AI fill in the gaps creating a
trippy audio-visual experience

It’s been incredible seeing the community empowered with this tool. We’ve had
hundreds of users pretty much every week since January with some content getting
hundreds of thousands of views. We minimized the requirements needed to run all
the code so I hope people get something out of it.

Some thoughts on @nounsdao from a contributor POV:

• Onboarding required guidance, without awesome people like @punk4156 @noun22_
@anquetil and more I would never have been able to learn enough about Nouns to
put together a proposal and lobby for votes. If there were incentives for more
nouners with conviction on what should be built to go look talent it would be
positive because…
• You need to CARE about SOMETHING. Someone helping you embark on a fun and well
compensated learning journey makes you care. People showing up to meetings and
asking questions makes you care. Bringing in investment, making a good
investment, and seeing a friend you made in this community do something awesome
all also make you care. But…
• It is HARD to maintain attention and it can get lonely. Often the people the
hardest to reach are the ones you most want to talk to. There’s so many things
going on, attention drifts, and once lost, is hard to get back. It’d be great if
there was a periodic review with nouners (monthly?) baked into longer projects
to keep everyone aligned and excited. Maybe add some stakes to it where if it’s
going well a month can be added on to the remaining few or one taken away
recouping investment.

Ultimately, it was an awesome experience. That’s why we’ve been working through
our contract date of July and will keep #NounsAI up through the end of the year.
It’s also been tough and even though I’m proud of what we accomplished I can’t
help but feel like we failed in part. Maybe it’s all part of the experiment. One
that I’m grateful to have been a part of. I hope to forever be nounish, happy to
advise, share thoughts, and invest in something bigger than myself.

ADDRESSING THE FEEDBACK

During this proposal's voting period, we received valuable feedback that we
should be focused on finding our own "product-market fit" (PMF). Meaning that we
should find the right audience to focus on and create content that resonates
with this audience as well as solve for distribution, while proliferating Nouns
in a meanginful way.

We took this feedback to heart and shifted our strategy. We decided to focus on
developing content that will grow and resonate with a large audience other than
the existing Nouns core fans.

This means we dropped the idea of developing a nounish CC0 library, running our
own Prop House rounds, or continuing to tell stories of Nouns Proposals (except
for Nouns Esports). Instead focussed on testing different audiences and content
types in a series of pilots.

PILOTING

PILOTING: POTENTIAL NOUNERS

The first audience we chose to test was Potential Nouners. We reached out to as
many Noun owners as we could and surveyed them to try to understand what made
them tick and what attracted them to the DAO.

You can read the results here.

We tested reaching Potential Nouners by creating content for Ethereum & DAO
enthusiasts. We piloted 4 different ideas:

* Nouns DAO: The Game
* Let’s Play Nouns DAO: Gov Pools
* Fun Fork Explainer
* Serious Fork Explainer

These resonated very well and got a lot of engagement. Especially The Game,
which got relatively a lot of views and shares on Twitter. It has even been
cited as being directly responsible for bringing new people into the Nouns
ecosystem.

Even though the content was loved, we didn't think that it had strong enough PMF
–it didnt seem to reach and engage a lot of new people.

NOUNS ESPORTS

We took a break from piloting and produced a video about Nouns Esports. We knew
that there is a real need for a Nouns Esports explainer. An evergreen piece for
one of Nouns' strongest communities to facilitate their onboarding of new
members and to help explain to the esports world what Nouns is all about.

The video was very well received and got ~200K views overall on Twitter and has
another ~130K views on Reddit, and is being used on the Nouns Esports website as
their main onboarding tool.

PILOTING: FANS

After publishing the Nouns Esports video, we went back to trying to find PMF.

This time we focused on an audience we call "Fans". Which is a broad definition
for people who could fall in love with Nouns.

Here, we attempted to create content that generally would work well on social
media, and that it could be used as a gateway to Nouns.

We tested original content that we created, trying to embody what we consider to
be nounish:

* Noun Cosplay
* Gnars Fingerboarding
* Fingerboarding BTS #1
* Fingerboarding BTS #2
* Unboxing Things In The Style of The Thing We're Unboxing
* The Untold Story of the cups from Jurassic Park
* Behind The Scenes on "Jurassic Cups"
* Make todays Noun out of Post-it Notes
* 3 Artists

* Artist #1: How They Made It

* Artist #2: How They Made It

* Artist #3: How They Made It

We posted all of these videos on Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok and one
format showed signs of traction - "Three Artists".

We also noticed that the type of people engaging with this content and following
us are very specific: they are all artists, designers, and other creative types.
It was the most defined audience we'd ever seen engage with our content (outside
of the existing Nouns community)

The strong engagement with the content and the consistency of the audience were
indications that we have found PMF.

THREE ARTISTS

So we doubled down on the show and have since released 8 episodes with more on
the way.

The show quickly became popular on Instagram, with the top episode receiving
over 1 million organic views. We have released eight episodes so far, which have
received over 2 million views and brought us over 70,000 new followers.

Other signs of PMF include a very high engagement rate: our top episode got
140,000 likes (a 14% like/view ratio), and every episode receives hundreds of
comments, saves, and shares.

OUR AUDIENCE

The audience that the show is attracting is consistently identifiable as what we
call “The Creatives.” Our followers are designers, artists, creative directors,
filmmakers, animators, illustrators, and so on. We also have attracted some well
known brands in the creative sector, including Wacom and Artlist.

We see this as a chance to build a community outside the crypto bubble that is a
perfect fit for Nouns, a group of talented and inspired creative people.

MORE THAN GROWTH: A RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR AUDIENCE

By turning the camera back on ourselves we are making ourselves a tangible
representation of the Nounish values they can relate to – joyous, welcoming,
playful, creative, and collaborative.

As we share our inspiring culture (one completely in line with Nouns’ own
values) our audience will grow to love the show and the people on it. And in the
long term, as the connection between us and our audience deepens, we give
ourselves the best chance to galvanise them to engage with Nouns in a more
meaningful way.

Since our last proposal we also released our Mucho Love video, the last of
Season 1.

Alot of our content continues to live on and get new life periodically,
including our nounish Rainbow Wallet video. Rainbow themselves and many others
(including Alexis Ohanian) posting and reposted it on Twitter.

Dustin Yellin shared & reshared our very first video again

And our long form explainer continues to be the go-to for people to dive deeper
on the concept of Nouns, as well as how to get funded.

We're hyped about the future opportunity of building a nounish brand accross
Instagram and YouTube based on the success of "Three Artists". We have other
content in development, but in the short term our focus is to scale our channels
by refining and iterating on this core concept.

UPDATE – OCTOBER 12, 2023

Helloooo! Here's an update on the NOUNS–HALO KEYCHAIN !

I'm happy to say that we'll be reaching the end of this project soon in the next
few weeks – with the circuit board now complete, everything else will be moving
very quickly!

There were a few hiccups with the hardware which resulted in an extra 2
iterations being made, but the good news is that in those iterations – I was
able to upgrade the hardware whilst keeping the costs low / relatively the same.

For those who are curious, rather than using an ATTINY85 which requires a little
bit of a setup in order to program it, I've swapped it for Seeedstudio's XIAO
MCU which is a simple plug and code - making it a whole lot easier for tinkerers
to upload their own code. All testing of the components, code, charging,
switches, etc. have passed through with flying colours!

Also to note that the NOUNS–HALO KEYCHAIN will already come pre-programmed with
the animated lights as per the demo in prop.

The 600 circuit boards are just days away from being produced with a lead time
of approximately 30 days (as the manufacturers are currently sourcing all the
components).

The enclosure is not far off from being complete, I'm finalizing the material
and will be sharing images of the prototype with a new update here / on twitter
/ warpcast.

The website is going to be hosted on nouns.engineering/ – the design is pretty
much wrapped up and once I've gotten the product / campaigns shots up, it'll be
ready to go live!

Finally, we have the fish can packaging. The design is in progress, and I would
like to ask if exploring the option of substituting the sardine cans for round
tuna cans would be possible? In terms of sealing it in this first run of 600
units - it seems to facilitate the speed of production and assembly with a lot
of the manufacturers I have liased with.

CONTENT:

pNouns DAOstarted as a subDAO capable of proposing to Nouns. After successfully
winning the bids for Nouns #553 and #556 in December 2022, the first proposal
"NogglesJackTokyo" was realized.
The event took place on May 20th and 21th, 2023, at the 57th Design Festa at
Tokyo Big Sight. Numerous participants and volunteers collaborated to ensure its
success.
Main exhibits included prototypes of pNounsNoggles, paper Noggles, a costume of
Noun553, and Noggles-shaped benches. Distributed items comprised stickers,
posters, Noggles keyholders, wall monuments, original T-shirts, and other
merchandise.
For pre-event PR, both Twitter and the smartphone app NogglesJackTokyo were
utilized.
The primary objective of the event was a commemorative photo session with
Noggles. 200 Polaroid films and smartphones were used, and all were gifted to
the attendees. Over 500 paper Noggles were distributed, and many attendees at
the Design Festa booth wore noticeable Noggles, bringing smiles to many faces.

CONCLUSION:

After 3 months of preparation, the 2-day event concluded successfully. We extend
our gratitude to NounsDAO for covering the costs of the event participation fee,
interior decorations, and the production of original merchandise.

MUCHO LOVE UPDATE #2

* Art with STAINED and CCCPapeleria: We successfully partnered with Stained and
CCCPapeleria, leading 300 children into an artistic venture. Using a
straightforward guide, we supplied them with essential tools and encouraged
them to unleash their creativity. This event has set a promising tone,
hinting at more such initiatives in the future.
* Medical Health Mission, October 27-29th: Our preparation is on track. Several
pharmaceutical companies, local pharmacies, and even Gatorade have come
forward to offer support. Our focus? To provide sustainable health assistance
and solutions to the chosen community.
* Harvard Doctors and Nouns: An intriguing development to share - a few doctors
from Harvard have shown keen interest in Nouns. Their appreciation for our
open-source approach, transparency, and achievements sparked this interest.
I'll be meeting them to delve deeper into potential collaborations.
* Stained's Upcoming Collection: Inspired by the children's artwork, Stained is
in the midst of crafting a unique collection. Once it's live, I'll share
links for those interested. Part of the proceeds will be channeled back to
fund artistic endeavors for the orphanage's creative activities.
* Plans for November: Collaborative efforts are underway with PedidosYa. We're
aligning on suitable dates. Additionally, we've initiated talks with Save the
Children, aiming for a fruitful partnership.

I'm very excited to officially wrap up my work on Mogu, and I thought I'd
reflect on it a bit and share what I did during the three months. I've been
contributing to Nouns for a year but this proposal was the most important to my
personal journey.

I built a lot of Mogu before submitting the proposal, but candidly I struggled
to get momentum again after it passed. I really thought I could turn Mogu into a
legitimate Etherscan competitor and considered getting more funding to grow it.
I spent time on things like adding non-Nouns transactions to Mogu, and
considered running my own node to get all Ethereum data more easily (this was my
first time going deep on this topic). It was a real "I don't know what I don't
know" moment.

I eventually realized that the most niche parts of Mogu, particularly the Board,
got the most usage. It was an important realization - all the extra stuff I
thought the crypto masses wanted and could make a cool product (a better block
explorer), was quite different from what this small group of passionate people
actually needed. So I continued working on improving the board and actually
spent some time reducing features and improving the architecture of my data
which was a huge mess. I hadn't gone this deep on any project before, so I found
myself learning a lot, and having to rewrite a lot of code.

In early September, I fell more in love with the process of coding. I came
across Krel's requests.wtf, which lead me to Wilson's Propdates contract -- I
felt like I'd struck gold! I was able to set up my first subgraph with Goldsky
surprisingly fast, and build a front-end that allowed people to claim admin
roles and post updates. Rapidly, I was able to synthesize months of learning
from Mogu and other projects into a much more polished v0. This was super
exciting for me, and pushed me to keep trying new things with it.

For the month of September, I largely focused on one-off pages for Mogu
(mentioned in a previous propdate) which got good traction, but tapered off.
Then I worked more and more on Propdates, which felt like it added more value to
the DAO than any marginal improvements to Mogu.

As Propdates got more traction, it became clear to me that there's something
special about it as a new Nouns primitive. While there may be a need for a
version of Mogu in the future, I don't plan to add new features to it
immediately.

To wrap up, a few related and unrelated things I learned from Mogu:

* It's hard to build a sticky read-only site: Etherscan is really the
exception, not the rule. If someone is coming to your site to accomplish
something very specific, it's much easier to get them engaged (i.e. playing
around with the Board or posting on Propdates)
* Iteration is tough: after I built the first version, it was tough to slowly
improve the product and get feedback from just a small handful of people.
Even features I had previously planned intuitively felt like they wouldn't
quite move the needle, and working independently, it was a bit demoralizing.
* Nouns is still small but passionate: even on its biggest days, Mogu only got
a few hundred visitors, largely from Twitter posts. The ceiling of DAUs/WAUs
is hard in this crypto landscape, compared to the latest AI apps making
hundreds of thousands of dollars a week. But, passion and product stickiness
will be much higher for the right apps.

But most importantly, I learned that I want to keep building things for the DAO.
I want to keep learning, coding, trying new things, and having fun. Just as I
thought I might burn out, the infinite game of Nouns has pulled me in yet again
:-)

Been in the industry for the last 15 years, Ray is no stranger to some of the
beloved anime franchises you have seen on TV.

Ray’s voice brought to life some of the characters from Dragon ball Super, Fairy
Tail, One Piece, My Hero Academia, Overlord and more.

In Rise of Blus - Ray plays the role of Gi’s dad, Go. A timid personality, Go
was a dreamer but life has beaten him down. He is a Rastafarian at heart but
decided to be the guy who checks all the boxes for his family instead. Can Gi

MUCHO LOVE UPDATES

Hello everyone, it's been an interesting 2 months since the prop passed. I am
here to share updates on the course and modus operandi Mucho Love is adapting.

SOME REFLECTIONS:

* Mucho Love thrives on an open-collaborative format, outlining all activities
of the year at once only mirrors the thoughts & hopes the team had at that
juncture.
* At its core, Mucho Love is an event & marketing platform. While we host
events surrounding public goods and social impact, our forte is motivating
people to act and showcasing our brilliant ideas.
* Mucho Love isn’t tailored for recurring content; it flourishes as a
project-centric platform.
* Virality is replicable. The instances where we've invested time in sparking
virality, it worked perfectly. Our virality stems from CTAs (Call-to-Action)
type posts. The caveat is, it can lead to audience fatigue if churned out too
frequently.

THE JOURNEY OVER THE PAST 2 MONTHS:

Post-proposal, we’ve reached out to various businesses and brands to lay the
foundation for Mucho Love's self-sustainability by mid-2024. The feedback has
been encouraging; brands find our approach refreshing and distinct. The only
hiccup so far has been the time it takes for brands to hop on board and approve
budgets. This exact reason has steered our self-sustainability aim towards the
specified timeline.

RECENT MILESTONE:

* We've made our first event, where 300 orphans were given a white tshirt to
create their own masterpieces. This endeavor was conceived to embody the
equation success = talent + opportunity. What if we could multiply
opportunities to unearth hidden talents? Perhaps the finest painter never had
the chance to hold a brush, the most adept cinematographer never got hold of
a camera, and the born actor never found a stage. This is the vacuum created
by a dearth of opportunity. That drove us to deliver these chances to these
kids, with Nouns as the conduit.
* Our collaboration was with Stained, a brand rooted in DR/MIA
(https://www.instagram.com/stainedconcept/), and CCC an art-materials
retailer (https://www.instagram.com/papeleriaccc/).
* We're in the works of unveiling a collection inspired by the children's
artworks. Over the upcoming 10 days or so, I’ll be sharing snippets &
visuals from this heartfelt activity.
* The collection will raise funds for the Orphanage and its members in
order to further support it.

* We've established a collaboration with doctors from Harvard to carry out our
Medical Mission event in Matagorda, Bani, DR. We have successfully partnered
with one of them to shape this initiative into a
sustainable-volunteer-healthcare approach. The ongoing plan is to continue
providing medical support to this community, while also studying the impact
of our medical missions on their collective health. This endeavor could
potentially evolve into its own substantial vertical, given its sustainable
and holistic approach to healthcare, creating a pathway to scale and propel
it further.

* For this activity, we successfully reached out to the Health Manager in
Bani, and arranged to carry out the event at Matagorda's Primary Care
Center.
* The manager also signaled that if we produced good results, he would like
us to scale to other communities in the DR.
* We secured sponsorship from pharmacies to provide treatments for the
community members, and we're executing this initiative over a three-day
span. The event is set to take place from the 27th to the 29th of October.

* We've connected with the largest delivery app in Latin America, PedidosYa
(https://www.instagram.com/pedidosya.do/?hl=es), to bring to life a project
close to our hearts. We aim to roll this out by the end of November, and the
conversations are already underway. The idea is to simplify and enable a free
pathway for people to donate clothing in good condition that they no longer
wear, making it possible to extend these items to those in need across the
country. Various studies highlight that around 80% of our wardrobe seldom
sees the light of day.

* Teaming up with PedidosYa is part of our strategy to magnify the impact of
this initiative. To boost its visibility further, we're also collaborating
with a rising content creator and influencer, Jessica Judith
(https://www.instagram.com/jess.judith/?hl=es), who boasts a highly engaged
audience. This partnership aims to maximize exposure for this event,
amplifying the reach and, in turn, the potential donations.

THE INDICATORS SO FAR:

* Mucho Love resonates as an event platform. An event platform with a notable
hook. ⌐◨-◨ as the emblem of everything we undertake, and a significant % of
profits being channeled to charity with every endeavor. This constructs a
unique, self-perpetuating cycle.

* Once an event concludes, profits are allocated to organizations we wish to
collaborate with, thereby the funds are utilized WITH Mucho Love, enabling
us to orchestrate unprecedented events in the DR while continuing with the
kind of social impact initiatives we’ve always pursued in tandem with other
organizations.

* The two leading event businesses in the DR have extended an invitation for
partnership to facilitate any scale of mass event. A spectrum of 500-5000
attendees is within our scope, and fortuitously one of my business-partners
has an extensive network concerning all requisites for events.

* This is a novel approach with Nouns. We hold a belief that a impactful
approach to culture creation and dissemination lies in these events.
* Visualize attending a Music Festival where all beloved local artists are
performing, top-notch restaurants are catering, and a whopping 50% of
everything you spend is directed towards charity.
* It's a proposition filled with value. We aim to feature a digital board
displaying the live count of funds raised for charity during the event,
with the culmination of the event marking the presentation and distribution
of these funds to our selected charities.

I have immense confidence in this avenue with Mucho Love. Is it a deviation from
what it was? Sort of. Is it an improvement? It's subjective. However, this is
the iteration of Mucho Love that excites me and my team the most and it is HOW I
WISH to unveil to the world the authentic potential of the ⌐◨-◨.

This was a fun proposal to work on and I had the pleasure of implementing a
contract written by 9999 after finding a limitation within the setup of the
transaction.

The result was a new contract that can be used to set allowances via proposal on
the nounsvision NFTs held by the treasury. Approved external wallets can then
send them direct from the treasury (within their allowance), either to other
recipients or to their own wallets.

The 150 requested were distributed to the 3 communities/teams mentioned in the
proposal (Esports, Gnars and The Noun Square), where they are still being
utilised and/or carefully distributed in multiple ways.

I tried something a little different last week. I created three pages on Mogu to
display information for one-off purposes:

* Catalog - a nice visualization of the Nouns returned to the DAO treasury
during the fork
* Fork Tracker - tracking the fork as it happened. This attracted several
hundreds of views and got linked in Metaversal
* Zero Votes - displaying feedback and votes given with 0 Nouns, highlighting
thoughtful community members worthy of delegation

Another small improvement - transaction descriptions now link directly to
relevant props and nouns!

I'm open to any feature requests around Mogu as we approach the deadline! Next
week, I'm hoping to improve filtering and tabs. Then I'll work on various
quality of life improvements. As the Nouns conversation and "meta" evolves, I'd
like Mogu to evolve with it.

High-level things that are happening at the moment:

* yuwil continues to ideate through the draft of the episode internally
and we are looking at finishing it up by end of the month. We will be
sharing a more rough draft of this fairly soon. The gist in essence
expands into more neighborhoods as we see Gi getting introduced to
new acquaintances and friends!

* We meet overall weekly on the story discussions while the production
team continues to meet more often. We are currently in the process of
concept art creation for some of the core new characters for the
episode. We will be sharing more on the new Characters concept art in
the coming weeks.

* We are waiting on the casting call process to conclude in a few weeks
time where will be recruiting new citizens into the mix (these are
minor roles which will be created on unique renditions of selected
characters)

* With casting call we intend to expand the Blus universe and bring
more nounish sub-communities and communities into the fold.

We have successfully completed 50 Noun Head filters and published them on
Snapchat, Instagram/Facebook, and TikTok. These filters have collectively
generated 2 million views as of today, with the following breakdown:

* Snapchat: 1.02 million plays, 15,000 shares, and 3,000 favorites.
* TikTok: 700,000 plays. We are currently ranked in the top 5% of effect
creators, and most of our filters are in the top 10%.
* Instagram/Facebook: 280,000 plays and 2,000 shares.

We will follow up by releasing the animated 3D source files (FBX) as part of a
www.3Dnouns.com update.
