About Us


ABOUT US

TCBC Catechetical Commission is one of the important commissions under Telugu
Catholic Bishops Council (TCBC). It is headed by Bishop Most Rev. Moses
D.Prakasam Bishop Nellore as the Chairman Fr. Gali John Bosco as the secretary.
Its main aim is to train, re-train, and guide the Catechists and Catechism
Teachers working in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and to provide sufficient
material online and offline to teach Catechism to Children, youth, Adults,
Families, and people from all walks of life. We learn, believe what we learn,
live what we believe, and teach what we live. This is our motto and this is our
vision.

AIM OF TCBC 

1.⁠ ⁠To encourage the re-evangelizing process drawing inspiration from baptismal
catechumenate;

 2.⁠ ⁠To promote catechesis for the various age groups: Adults, youth and
children;

 3.⁠ ⁠To promote catechesis in various settings: Parishes, Institutions and
Families;

 4.⁠ ⁠To enhance the professional competence of those involved in the
catechetical ministry by                equipping them with the knowledge and
the skills necessary through short and long term              catechetical
courses;

 5.⁠ ⁠To see that Catechetics is given importance in the priestly formation;

 6.⁠ ⁠To ensure that certain amount of money is spent for Catechetics in the
dioceses;

 7.⁠ ⁠To promote the culture of modern means of communication in catechesis at
national, regional and diocesan levels.
