FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who can take an ISSA program?

Anyone 18 years of age or older can take a certification with us. You don’t need
previous industry experience — all you need before taking the exam is proof of
a CPR/AED certification.

Is there any interest for payment plans?

No! There is 0% interest on all ISSA courses.

How do I know if ISSA right for me?

Do you love fitness and exercise? Do you want to help others get more active and
discover the joy of working out? Do you want a different (or better) career? Or
do you just love learning brand new things? If your answer was ‘yes’ to any of
these, then ISSA is probably right for you. Speak to one of our Fitness
Education Advisors to find out for sure though.

Are the ISSA certifications accredited?

At the moment, ISSA offers five NCCA accredited exams through our subsidiary
NCCPT – Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Yoga Instructor, Certified Group
Exercise Instructor, Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor and Certified Strength
Training Specialist.

Can I take the program even if I live internationally?

Yes! There are ISSA Certified trainers in 174 countries around the globe. If
you’re wondering about a specific country, give us a call — we’ll answer any
questions.

How long will it take me to complete the program?

Honestly? It depends on you and on the program you’re taking. When you start,
you have six months to finish. You can join the ‘fast track’ program and
complete the Certified Personal Trainer program in four weeks. Or you can
complete it in 12 weeks with our self guided study track. Or take it at your own
pace.

I don’t do well with exams — will this still work for me?

Yes. Our team is here to support you with everything you need to pass the exam —
they can review practice essays, answer questions and point you in the right
direction. By the time you’re sitting in front of the 200 multiple choice
questions for the CPT exam, you’ll be more than ready.

Where can I work with this certificate?

As an ISSA Certified trainer, you can work in gyms, independently, or online.
The ISSA Certification is accepted at most franchise gyms in the United States.
